2:42 - You keep saying “megabytes” when referring to these ports, but that’s off by almost a factor of ten. The USB port, for instance, can do up to 480 megaBits per second-which is about 1/8 the speed of a hypothetical port that could do 480 megaBytes per second.
I love the fact that the under side of the hub shows the speed of the ports. What else would one want to see on the under side? I am still hoping for a dock of this nature but with 10gig ethernet - but this will no doubt please a range of people.
Way too many sacrifices. No hdmi 2.1. Only 1Gbps network (I stopped buying slow devices like that years ago), minimal usbc ports. Not sure why I would buy this other than to stay in the past.
In this day and age, buying a new dock with USB-A 2.0 (slow 480 mbps) and no Thunderbolt 4 connectivity wouldn't be too smart. Being that USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 gbps) and Thunderbolt 4 are backward-compatible, I would not hesitate to buy this dock if it had these newer technologies. Investing in future-proofing-at least to a point-is important. At the end, this appears to be a not-so-smart dock.
This is my only complaint too, I do like the usb c data port too so you can ad another hub if you only get one crappy port or using a phone and want to run 5 hard drives 😂
Thunderbolt, being an intel exclusive hardware means that it wouldn't work properly (if at all) on non-intel hardware such as AMD computers and anything current generation Apple silicon. You would need to use the less common occulink instead for PCIe speeds over USB.
@@williamcll The fact that Thunderbolt, along with USB-C, is being adopted by the industry as a standard, including Apple, demonstrates that Intel is not making it exclusive to them and that it works. It's a big win for Intel, and they wouldn't want to jeopardize their success.
Hi, I watch your videos quite often, and appreciate your views I wonder if you could list the different ports in an onscreen window for us to compare, before buying, as right now I need to pause and write down exactly what is printed above each port! It might make it easier for us with a visible list, eg. 1x usbA/480bps, 2x usbA/10G...etc! Thx!🎉
I wish there was a company that let you customize the ports you need. There’s not a single dock out there that hits all my marks. And why are still keeping USB-A around?!?
Why are we not seeing USB 4 hubs? Give me this with at least one USB 4 passthrough (and a 4k60 HDMI port) and all the rest of the ports and features this has and I might be interested.
It would be better if you do a video on the item when it's AVAILABLE to purchase. This is just a back our project and assuming we get enough $$ we may build it. Tell me about it when I can BUY it ... Come on get real!
why do you say "colour way" whats the whole idea of using the word "way" it doesn't make any grammatical sense. if you leave the word way out of the sentence it still makes sense. I started hearing Americans use that term the last few years. id love to know why and where it came from

It’s a Kickstarter for $119 to $130. There’s no guarantee it would even go into production. It’s $160 MSRP so just wait if you want one and not get scammed. It’s just a fancy hub with a diagnostic screen. If you need it for work. The hub would eventually pay for itself in productively. $160 is nothing to professionals.
I have a great idea. Show the product up against a bright window so the camera adjusts the exposure for that so you can't actually see the product. I also find the use of "You do get" odd. That normally would be used when you say "It doesn't have but you do get ". Odd grammar.
