My old man is a lead on a natural gas maintenance crew. He was telling me a story about a contract hand who nicked a pressurized line during a recoat job. He ended up knocking off a quarter sized piece of the coating, and had to be kicked off the job site right away. Props to my old man and others who know how to properly run equipment efficiently, as that sh!t is tedious. Most people wouldn’t understand.
Jack, if you decide to run in floor heating make sure you rough in a floor drain for the water heater before you pour concrete! If you don’t you’ll be filling buckets all winter when the water heater needs to empty
Glad to hear that you called 811 before digging Jack! I work for a utility company and it’s pretty FUNNY but DANGEROUS when a CONTRACTOR thinks that they know everything when there DIGGING and HITS an underground POWER LINE or better yet when there using an EXCAVATOR and hit a power pole or OVERHEAD power lines! The look on there FACE is PRICELESS because they know EXACTLY what they did and how much it’s gonna COST! So it’s always better to be SAFE then SORRY! Love the channel Jack and I can’t wait for my number to be called because I’m the LUCKY WINNER!
Could be wrong but where I’m at gas lines under slabs need to be sleeved in pvc ,so they can be vented to the outside to prevent a gas pocket forming under the slab if it ever developed a leak. I’d suggest running it outside of the building and stubbing through the sidewall of the house into your mechanical room.
I run with a heavy equipment class and when we dig we always call before we dig because we have underground fiber optic cables and we also have underground electrical and underground gas lines we run at Lehigh career and technical institute in Schnecksville pa
One of the guys on my crew was using our little tractor with the auger to dig a post hole and nailed fiber optic in a new subdivision right next to a hospital, the fiber optic ran underneath and across the road, had we been one block down we would’ve knocked the hospitals internet, needless to say having an emergency crew work overnight to trench underneath a road to get to the line and replace the section wasn’t cheap
Taylor well service is a great local guy to use I'm not exactly sure how close you are logistically but he is a great friend of mine and he is still growing his new business and a very hard worker
811 in Utah is 24 in on each side of the mark I used to locate the lines and now I am back running a trackhoe soo I have seen both sides 😂. I haven’t hit a line yet tho
I have hit 5 water lines and 3 power lines in one day before I am in Australia and farmer r lazy and tight arses so they use a tracking shower and did about 3” deep and then don’t tell u about the lines
I really just watched you talk about the building I came for the truck you should make 2 channels one where you talk about the construction side and leave this about the truck like what you have clearly in the thumbnail which is what I came for just sayin 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
