Originally setting mine up was a disaster. They didn't work and called customer service and they said it was an app issue. Never returned them and tried again 6 months later to set them up and they connected to the base. They work great now and would def recommend.
also- do you know what the difference is between the two Govee units other than the more expensive one having 3 sensors(the one you linked)- I found one that is 2 sensors and seems to have the exact same descriptions but only $22.99 and does NOT say anything about that 5 GHZ problem? if they are the same I would rather purchase the 2 pack and save $30
Thank you for the review. I am concerned about the security on Wi-Fi and router connected devices. Any feedback? Worried that this may allow back door access into the router and uninvited guests potentially gaining access to router and thereby devices or traffic over the net work.
Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate your product review, seems like a legit product with well thought out functions, and excellent demonstrations from you, thanks for your hard work@@ToolsElectroDIY
@ToolsElectroDIY i went with the goveelife 2nd gen on this 1 hub up to 100 sensors. It's definitely cheaper than ring flood and sensor, plus it's got the loud audible alarm.
@@ToolsElectroDIY Thanks for your prompt response! All my notification settings were accurate. After some research it turned out that Govee Home app needs to be deleted and re-installed again, it's working now. That's a known issue, it seems. Salam and happy holidays!
I tried for over 2 hours and it doesn't connect to my 2.4 GHz ASUS modem and it doesn't connect to my pixel 7 phone. It just gets to the very last part and then it says it cannot connect. I am writing customer service to see if they can sort things out otherwise this will be returned
My wifi router is a 2.4 ghz router(Old verizon router)- will this work with my router>- because on Amazon it says will not work with 5 GHZ wifi- if I get a new Verizon router and it is 5GHZ what happens then?- I ask you since you are the consumer and will tell me the truth- because some of the reviews you just cannot trust.
It won't work with 5Ghz. But usually modern routers will be able to emit both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi. You need to check to see if your new router supports that, my Verizon Fios router supports 2.4Ghz. If it doesn't, you can always buy another router to be connected to the FIOS router in wired mode, then enjoy 2.4Ghz. (slower, but longer connection range.) Watch my Mesh network router review on NETGEAR Orbi.
By the time I checked my email and noticed the email water leak, over 10,000 gallons had flooded the third floor of my home. Govee needs to add an emergency phone call alert.
