I have watched a few video's now on the Xtool D1. I had thought about trying it on silver sheet and silver rings for etching. You are the first to show me that this will not work on silver. Thank you
That was a very informative video. Thanks for that, because I have been wondering whether I should get one. Curious of your recommendation between this and the Sculpfun S10.
No problem and then it comes to the 2 different lasers it is really going to depend on your budget. The xTool does cost more but it does use better parts and is over all just a better laser setup. Both at 10wat lasers so both of them will get the job done. I hope that helps and if you have more questions just ask. Also I have a video coming out tomorrow about a CO2 laser that blows all the diode lasers out of the water but it's also not cheap.
my 20 watt is enroute. acryllic.... how about slightly green? I'm speaking of the stuff one might use in picture frames... or is it a question of transparency?
From what I have seen is that if it is transparent it will not cut it but I have never tried a clear with color to be honest. Let me know if that works out or not.
I might be able to do that at some point but if you want clean and crisp cuts you are going to want the honey comb bed for sure. The air setup will also help a lot with charring and stop most flair ups the might start a fire. I have cut card stock in the past as it had no real problem that I can remember to be honest. 😁👍
question I have a d1 10w and it doesn't cut through 3mm plywood any advice I can't get it to work updated and everything I've wasted over $30 in wood trying to cut
@@GomeowCreations The 10w. I been researching for a couple of months day in day out on the watts as well as the M1. With limited videos it was hard to choose but I didn't see a BIG difference with portrait between the 10w and the 20w. The M1 basically does what the D1 does or at least with what I do which is jewelry and engraving. If you have any take on it that could help me, I'm listening 🙂
Yeah the D1 is basically the same as the D1 besides in comes in an enclosure and it can also cut stickers with a knife. I do think the M1 has a smaller work area but it might not matter to you.
@@GomeowCreations nice I have been trying to decide if I should buy one and been trying to contact them to get an estimate of price for a full 20w kit. Not sure if it would be best to go 5 (see how i like it etc and possibly upgrade to 20w) , 10 and just keep a 10w and use it as is, or 20w when they offer it as complete unit. It's hard to buy either the 5 or 10 if I plan to upgrade as it seems like waste of money paying for the smaller laser that wouldn't be used wjen the 20w isnt to far out.
Yeah I under stand what you mean. After using it I think 10w is as low as I would go with a laser. That is after looking at the suggested setting for the 5w vs the 10w. For me at least it's a time saving thing, the 5w with take about 2x the time as the 10w. I don't know if they are going to make a stand alone 20w one but you would think they would. If I needed to get this now and couldn't wait for the 20w version o would just get the 10w and use it until I can get the 20w unit. If you are getting it to make things to sell, it might even pay for that upgrade on its own. Just my thoughts 😁👍
@@GomeowCreations thanks for taking the time to reply especially quickly and for the honest feedback I truly appreciate it! Do you have any affiliate discount code/links if I did make a purchase, cause I appreciate your help. Also happen to have a good way to contact them I have sent like 8 emails amd got 2 responses that didn't fully answer any of the questions.
So the links in the description of this video are all affiliate links. Sadly I don't have any discount code or a good way to contact them other than the person that deals with me directly and I can't give out their email, I hope that is understandable. When it comes to your questions, maybe I can help you with them?
You might be able to contact them about that and get them and if not to you might be able to 3d print some of the parts and get some fitting to make your own
