Thank you for explaining/showing why all the extra stuff is useful. I was originally thinking to myself why is there so many extra stuff involved in carp fishing compared to the standard freshwater/saltwater stuff. Is there a particular season carp fishing is best ? Or can it be year round. Thanks Dave Dee for sharing your knowledge !!
I don't see why not. I have 60lb power pro on my surf casting and jigging set ups and it seems supple enough I guess. I've never used over 35lb hook link for carp.
Do yourself a favour. The basic rig, don’t tie direct to swivel. Make a loop via a figure if 8 knot. The loop being about an inch and a half. To attach to the swivel, pass loop through the eye of the swivel, pass the rest of the rig through the loop. Pull tight. The doubled over braid acts as a boom without looking obvious. When using the blowback tubes, thread on the line after the bait, then feed that round the hook.
