I have been to the Wieliczka salt mine during my Erasmus project and it was an incredible experience, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, especially the underground chapel, stunning and the funny moments I had when going down the 300 and more steps(I thought they were never going to end hahaha)I and when taking the lift back to the top (there was no light). You both are amazing, this vlog is awesome, and it has brought to my mind a lot memories, of these wonderful journey I have had with my friends, thank you and there is still more to see!!! like in Rzeszów there are underground tunnels that were used during the periods of war, for protection and etc, but I don't want to say much enjoy and have fun, Poland is wonderful ❤️😊

One thing worth mentioning to people is the "dress code" when you go down there. Even if it's a typical scorching polish summer on the surface the tour takes about 2 hours and it is COLD there so keep warm folks.

My mother visited Sri Lanka about 5 years ago and she loved it :) Esp all the greenery around and all those beautiful buddism sanctuaries, and she enjoyed the meeting of such calm, peaceful people. And also she loved the elephants. She was fan of elephants and considered them very inteligent animals. Warm wishes from Poland toward your nation :)

Guys, try and check out the Tatras, even if for a day, I am sure you will love it. Just avoid the route to Morskie Oko on a Sunday, and probably the Dolina Chocholowska and Koscieliska routes too if you want a less crowded experience :) You can simply hike to one of the shelters for a non-exposed, beautiful hike rewarded by awesome views. No need to climb massive peaks if you don't feel like it :) (and I wouldn't recommend hitting any of the highest peaks if you're not comfortable and don't have proper shoes/equipment)

I am not sure if you were told about one thing. It is possible to have a party down there, such as wedding receptions. I've been in both Wieliczka and Bochnia and we could party in one spacious room and sleep in another one. As I remember there was even a cinema down there and a sort of sports hall where we could play basketball or volleyball.

@jakubzych5590
@jakubzych5590 6 лет назад
@Travel With Mansoureh - this one no longer excavates salt (aside converting salty water into it) and some part of it was (small part of it!) converted into sorts of huge museum. Aside Wieliczka, there is plenty of old mines in Poland that public can visit, coal mine in Zabrze, silver mine in Tarnowskie Góry, salt mine in Bochnia and even old Uranium mine in Kletno are only few to mention.
@crazyfrytka

@@crazyfrytka Fascinating. I am from South Africa originally, now living in UK. I lived in Johannesburg, a city built on gold mining. Huge mine dumps and all the old head gear can be seen all around the city. I would absolutely love to visit the gold mines and salt mines in Poland and see what they are like and learn about their history!! ☺☺👍👍

Actually in Poland throwing a coin into a fountain/water reservoir means only one thing - being lucky enough to come back to the same location one day. We make our lucky wish upon the falling star or when we guess on which cheek an eylash had fallen (when someone spots the eyelash on your cheek they will jusk ask "which cheek", if you guess you're entitled to make a wish).

Thanks for the video upload. I was doubting visiting (claustaphobic) But looked fine.The lift to the surface looks like you can only get 2 or 3 people in. How long are you in the lift for and is there a light? This is the only thing stopping me wanting to visi now. Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I'm not big fan of any stuff like this but I actually enjoyed this tour when I was there. It was a beautiful sight from just salt. I'm amazed sometimes with what humans and nature can create together.

My son and I were there this last September, it’s amazing. Took us 3 hours to get through it which was really hard for me seeing that I had a fractured hip and surgery a month or so before being there. Our guide said that I shouldn’t go through it because of that. But I’m stubborn and actually finished the whole thing. Would love to go back again.

I visited Amsterdam just one week after Achilles tendon operation. My wife was pushing me on a wheel-chair. Greetings from Poland

Poland was a very rich country back in the day thanks to the massive amounts of salt in some regions. Salt was very precious as it preserved food.
