I've been watching a bunch of your MI demos/tutorials. You were the only person who showed how Frames works, and now you've sold me on Tides. Most of my rack is MI, I love their stuff, but it can be a bit hard to figure out. You do an awesome job of making that clear. Thanks, and happy Crimbo and all that.

Easily the most helpful tutorial series, I've come across regarding Tides. Many thanks.

Very nice video, thank you! It's very hard to see what the oscilloscope is showing though, I pretty much can't see the red line. It would've been helpful if you put a close up view of it similar to the panorama view on the bottom right.

Hi Ferry. Thanks for the video explaining tides2 module. I have tides but because of concentration on other things I haven't spent much time learning tides, I know it's interesting because I saw it patched /used in other people's systems. And I understand some things that it does. Like Multiple timing events, multiple harmonic outputs. Can be used as lfo, vco. But, since this is a multiple functional module there's a bunch to learn about it. I like the way you explain it in plain terms and easy to understand. Thank you. Feel free to check my very basic RU-vid channel for a listen to the very minimal sounds I placed there. I'd like to add some more sounds soon. Thanks again.

when holding down both range and mode buttons the range button starts flashing but i can't find any documentation on what exactly this is doing?

Thanks for the vid! Quick question - when Tides is operating at audio rates, can the trig input be used to trigger an envelope, almost like it's making use of an internal VCA? Not sure if that question is clear, but it's a behaviour that both Rings and Plaits have - if you send a gate to the trig input, it will trigger an envelope on an internal digital VCA. I was just wondering if Tides could act the same way. Thanks in advance!

Yep, I know what you're asking. The Trigger input does NOT activate an internal VCA; it will simply start the cycle over from the beginning of the attack phase. I confirmed this with the manual, which says, "In cyclic mode, a trigger will reset the oscillator so that it starts a new ascending phase."

@@ferrycollider Ahh okay interesting, so it almost functions like an LFO reset. Thank you for clarifying that I couldn't find any clear answers online!

@@CharlieGearon In envelope mode at audio rates, you get clicky sounds which are rather usefull to pingin filters and resonators, like the Rings module.

Can this module be the 4 envelopes in a Shepard’s tone?
