This is a yummy spicy, sweet and tangy mutton vindaloo recipe.
Ingredients
750 gms mutton on the bone
3 medium onions chopped
2 medium potatoes large cubed
1 medium tomato chopped
3 tea spoons garlic paste
1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste
1/2 tea spoon pepper powder
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 tea spoon garam masala powder
1 and 1/2 tea spoon cumin powder
3 tea spoons Kashmiri chilli powder
1 and 1/2 tea spoon salt
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tea spoons sugar
6 table spoons oil
Method
Place a pressure cooker on medium heat and add the cubes potatoes and 1/2 tea spoon salt and fry until golden brown
Remove and keep aside
In the same oil add 3 medium onions chopped and fry until golden
Add 1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste and 3 tea spoons garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes until fragrant
Add the chopped tomato and stir it in
Add 1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder,1 tea spoon garam masala powder,
1 and 1/2 tea spoon cumin powder, 3 tea spoons Kashmiri chilli powder,
1 and 1/2 tea spoon salt and fry everything for 2 to 3 minutes
Add the mutton and cook in the masala for another 5 minutes
Add 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 tea spoons sugar cook for 2 to 3 minutes
Add 1 and 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook fir 4 to 5 whistles
Open and add the fried potatoes to this and simmer the vindaloo for further 5 minutes reducing it to a nice thick gravy
Remove from heat and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before eating
