"Mutual Abuse" Depp & Heard's Couples Counselor's Testimony

When you are goaded, mocked, shouted at, accused, baited, shoved, name called day in, day out, it’s natural to occasionally yell “shut up” or use a little verbal abuse in return. It’s not “mutual abuse”. It’s simply because the victim is at breaking point and has had enough of the constant bombardment of abuse. If you haven’t been in this situation, do not comment.

People are criticizing the therapist because she can’t recall some details she had written, not that I am justifying her ability to be a clinical psychologist, but remember, this was more than five years ago and who knows how many patients she has and notes to recall from each individual patient, even if they are celebrities.

Im a therapist. Please keep in mind we often keep notes intentionally vague to protect client privacy. I wouldn't be able to recall session details 5 years after the fact.

The Therapist said something extremely important that was cut off. She said that Johnny was having a problem finding his voice! Basically, she's saying that this Amber girl is very verbally abusive because this man hides from confrontation.

Last sentence (paraphrased): When Amber described Mr. Depp's violence, Mr. Depp was NOT present. So important, because that is not him confirming mutual abuse. Also she said when Mr. Depp was alone in sessiosn he was able to freely speak, and find his voice. That for me is a classic sign of intimidation.

The counselor looks and sounds just like Lily Tomlin!🤣

She said for herself that he struggled to find his voice in the sessions. If that's not a sign of his passive behaviour. Also, I'm sure Amber had alot to say in these sessions.

My sister has Personality disorder and would go to therapy and create lies about her husband. She would even scratch her own face and say he did it. She would set up her husband as the abuser since she was angry at him and angry that he wanted a divorce. She initiated all the fights and instigated them and recorded poor guy making it look like he's the abuser! Sounds familiar?!!!!!

Johnny's attorneys ask when Amber claims physical abuse is johnny present??No Because if you are Amber and you're faking abuse You are trying to make the other person look bad. The point is she's not the innocent angel who should be the face of domestic violence.

He's so passive and shy he can't even speak up for himself, and that translates for her into being part of a mutually abusive couple? This is FOUR sessions, as well, folks.

Abuse is about an imbalance of power and control. In an unhealthy or abusive relationship, there may be unhealthy behaviours from both sides, but in an abusive relationship,one side tends to have more control than the other. Mutual abuse does not exist. The behaviour of the victim will be affected by the abuse and they may try and defend themselves, this is not abuse. The excuse of mutual abuse also allows the actual abuser to shift blame. They will use the victims reactions to the abuse against them.

Wow, if she saw from her sessions that Depp "had a problem, having a voice" then that is basically confirming that he is a passive guy, if things get rough he shuts down. Amber then just ran him over, and, I wonder if she didn't just love the power of demeaning this man.

in a DV abuusive relationship it DOES matter who started it. a v1ctim doesn't start fights with an abuuser. the abuuser starts the fights. the abuuser chases. the abuuser stalks. the abuuser controls. the abuuser dominates. (that's Amber)

What sense does it make to hit someone in an attempt to make them stay? I would love to know if Amber has ever been diagnosed with any of the cluster b personality disorders. Her behavior seems to fit that. Johnny’s drinking and drug use may have gotten worse due to the stress of the relationship. I think clearly they both have issues but she is absolutely nuts. She spit on her assistant. Seems very volatile.

What I wish someone would be smart enough to make a point of is that therapists are trained to not treat a couple together if they feel someone is being seriously abused or is in danger. If there is ever a risk they are supposed to assess this then refer them to individual therapy or create a safety plan for the person at risk or in danger. The reason for this is because in DV cases, couples therapy can increase violence. The abuser may abuse their partner further for speaking up in session or for feeling like they were exposed etc. So if AH was actually abused she would not be treating them, she would be finding out how to separate them safely and quickly.

If someone punched me in the face all the time, and took a peice of my finger off from throwing a bottle at me, I would 100% be verbally abusive as retaliation. These things are not equal when talking about context. Even more considering he ran and she chased. What is he supposed to do? Not cus her out after being physically abused and unable to run away?

Who in the hell has a 3 hour therapy session? This therapist is a quack.

Are the attorneys allowed to asked questions of Dr. Laural Anderson such as "would your diagnosis still be mutual abuse if it was discovered that Amber had received BOTOX injections for 'crows feet', from a licensed Aestheticsion? And that Arnica cream is commonly recommended to clients after receiving BOTOX injections because of the redness and bruising that occurs around the eye areas and upper cheekbones?" Or something to that effect. Because Laural mentioned Amber only reported violence when Johnny was not there. She mentioned Johnny was not able to speak, having a hard time having a voice. She mentioned Johnny did not tell her about his injuries i.e the finger. There has not been one person who has seen any evidence of injuries on Amber at any time, not doctors, not the hospital, not nurses, not friends, not family members, not neighbors, not work colleagues, not talk show hosts, not police officers. And the ONLY pictures she has show that slight redness around the eye areas. So I am curious, because those pictures are indicative and look EXACTLY 💯% the way people's faces look after receiving BOTOX injections. As well as the use of Arnica cream. Would Laural Anderson have had the same findings? And are attorneys allowed to ask questions like that? And also to ask Dr. Curry if it was found that those pictures and injuries were in fact from Amber receiving BOTOX injections for 'crows feet', the pictures Amber has said is abuse from Johnny. What would that be saying?". Also to question Dawn Hughes about what it would say about Amber? What it would mean to the all of the doctors findings? To find out that there was never any violence from Johnny toward Amber and in fact the only violence was from Amber toward Johnny. What would the diagnosis be then?

based on court documents, hearings, Amber is showing narcissist behavior. You mix it together with drug/alcohol abuse she kinda threw herself under the bus.

How do we just watch the case without the show hosts cutting it when they want and putting in commentary. Is it possible to watch it just unedited and uncut?

This therapist is so piss poor at record keeping its shameful. I wonder how much she was being payed to literally sit there and do nothing but listen to people go off. That's not therapy. That's being a leech.

“She slapped him”….”she initiated it”… “because I think she felt demeaned” or something…so, because she has an insecurity issue that gives her the right to physically abuse him? This “therapist” seems to be dismissing her violence toward JD…don’t therapist have a mandatory reporting system whereby when they know abuse is going on they, by law, have to report it to police? She knew, but did nothing….she should have been given a disciplinary hearing or lost her license IMO!

Another thing narcissist do is try to talk and slander the other person's name while Acting like the victim Watch out in every event Amber is the one texting negative thingsNot just calling names out of anger like most normal people do to let off steam no setting up actual abuse. And asking the doctor What she could get if she called the cops was worried about her money and future. Not her well-being?

This counselor is definitely biased. She’s closer to Amber, it’s clear by her testimony and continued use of “Amber” instead of “Ms. Heard.” * People giving depositions for Amber are all through video and all of Johnny’s are there in person to support him. It is very telling about the quality of her relationships and the type of person she is. She comes off as extremely immature, disingenuous, narcissistic, and selfish.

He is definitely a passive communicator. Communication types are huge in relationships. I'm engaged to a passive communicator and i am a assertive one. I grew up in a huge loving family that talked things out. Learning your partners communication style, definitely helps. I can't see a passive communicator being physically abusive unless they are provoked for hours to do so.

Just because AH said there was mutual abuse to her therapist does not make it true, or facts, esp. because Johnny was not there when that occured. Johnny never talked badly about her to non privat friends, he suffered inside , its normal behavior for someone that loves a person that is abusive to not be open for a long time , often years go by. Also there was an agreement that they would not talk about each other to press or..... In my opinion , she set up this "therapy" sessions to create "evidence " for her being abused . If there was so much abuse than why did that not come up or was talked about when they both where there? This was all also part of AH creating a narrative .

This therapist has made several subjective opinions about like for instance Amber slapping Johnny because she felt demeaned. That was the counselors opinion and should’ve been objected to.

And again "she told me he hit her". No eye witness. Only hearsay.

The therapist got played by Amber. Therapist used Amber’s words to assume there was mutual abuse. Therapist only saw photos (Fake) of bruises shown to her by Amber. Followed this situation for 2 years in detail. Your reporting of this is surface

She told every fight he was trying to leave to de escalate. It is not the behavior of abuser. Don't know why she has to say it was mutual. Probably she meant verbal arguments

mutual abuse? never heard johnny admit to the counselor that he abused her just amber and the comment of give as good as she takes was speculation not fact and im surprised it was even allowed. regardless tho johnny never claimed he abused her like im seeing alot of ppl say. amber was the only one who told the counselor that johnny had been abusive but never when johnny was present only in solo meetings.

What about medical confidentiality...?!! I am shocked that a therapist is allowed to talk about the content of the sessions at court and I am even more shocked that they put it out to the public.

I was an extremely absuded woman and thankfully escaped and have healed. I've known many woman like Amber and she's a classic abuser. This man is absolutely a horrible thing she has out him through. It must be extremely hard for him to have this much even more personal information he known to the world. He wouldn't be doing this if he had ever hurt her.

The people writing stuff like “I can spot an abuser straight away” and “omg Johnny is such an angel” you can bet were the same people cussing Johnny at the start and they’re the same people that were Virologist’s during covid and now they have a degree in psychology.

These people should not have been together. Horrible match. I think Johnny should have just walked away and stayed out of court. She would reveal herself eventually. He has blown this up to his own detriment. He would have been better off dealing with his substance abuse and getting back to his music. Just my opinion.

A therapist who spent hours with them says he’s so passive she concerned, says AH talked about beating him. So fkn what if he said mean things. He wasn’t hitting her.

No such thing as mutual or reactive abuse. There’s 1 main aggressor, and someone who self-defends (this doesn’t count as abuse). Looks like Depp is too agreeable and Heard is too manipulative + disagreeable. In only 4 short sessions Heard could’ve also easily mislead/manipulated this therapist. Some therapists just lack what I call an innate intuitive ability. It’s not all books.

So grateful that someone neutral is finally speaking truth.

Oh my god, why this isn’t blowing up right now? I watched the whole thing. Heard said she’s the one often started the fights. Way more often, Depp was the one trying to mediate. She slapped him when his mom died. Couple days later when he was late for her birthday, she started a fight again.
