What kind of initiatives can best support and improve the livelihoods of female entrepreneurs who own micro-to medium-sized enterprises?
The first hour of this webinar is a panel discussion, bringing together a range of practitioners to discuss how to ensure higher female participation in entrepreneurship projects, how to support micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises to improve women’s livelihoods, and the need for initiatives to tailor the business support they offer to different target groups, given the heterogeneity of women entrepreneurs. This panel discussion was facilitated by Iana Barenboim, Entrepreneurship Specialist. She was joined by:
• Esther Mwikali, Project Catalyst, GrowthAfrica (Kenya)
• Gianluca Nardi, Women’s Economic Empowerment and Social Inclusion Director, Strongim Bisnis (Solomon Islands)
• Luidmila Comé, Entrepreneurship Project Manager, MUVA (Mozambique)
The second part is a closer look at MUVA’s successful pilots with women entrepreneurs. Drawing from examples of specific projects like MUVA+, which supported market-based fruit and vegetable vendors, and PAM, the business accelerator project which worked with established micro and small businesses, MUVA will showcase the approaches it has used to enhance the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs across Mozambique.
