@@jazzic3024 firstly for someone to be Muslim they must believe that there is only one One and Muhammad peace be upon him was his last messenger as well as having to be the Quran(word of God) and the hadiths(these are encounters of the Prophet that have been traced back to his life through written chains) We believe that a Muslim is a Muslim. So the main sects being Sunni and Shias do not deviate from the core beliefs of Islam that I have described above. The discrepancies between them are more political reasons in terms of who should of became the next Muslim leader after the Prophet peace be upon him - Shias believing it should have been Ali(as) (cousin of the prophet) and Sunnis believing it was correctly appointed to Abu Bakr(close companion of the prophet) And as always we see ppl taking this to the extremes but it is so important that we do not lose the true sight of Islam. U will find no Muslim who doesn’t accept the Quran as it is the word of God that has no contradictions,no errors as well as there being so many scientific and literacy miracles. If u want to learn more about Islam, this YT channel called One Message Foundation really helped me understand more about Islam.
