Hard to explain but spiritually I feel at home. I also feel like I can see stories and destinies, of people and communities, I can see the sorrow, and I can see the joy. Music like a living string, or string of life. The classic version is also very beautiful :). p.s. central and eastern Europe do have some unique precious things to add to the world for sure.
Me same! When i listen Batok Romanian folks Dance i feel want to cry i feel want to go home i think my home is in romania everytime when i listen, But i'm from Thailand.I really feel like that i love Romania!❤️🇷🇴
@@chakkriza234 Well its also amazing that these are hungarian artists (of course Bartok was hungarian himself). And I have to say I have so much respect for this Conductor, for organizing it like this also with the folk artists, so much talent there, with Muzsikas and Danubia Orchestra.
Ezért tudja a Muzsikás szívből játszani ezeket a csodálatos dallamokat.
Szpektakulárosz!! :) Do you ask what is the difference between classical and folk musician?? For a folk musician - 3 strings is more than enough.. :D Seriously - this is really something, and it makes me cry (both sad and happy/proud tears). I come from the family with a huge folklore music tradition in Moravia - generations of folk song collectors, singers, musicologists from the east-part region of Czech rep., very close from Slovakia / Hungary, but now I live already for a couple years in western Europe, and deep inside myself, I am struggeling a lot because I am mostly surrounded by people who have nothing like we can see on this video - a true traditions in their blood. Maybe they are "rich and socialy well secured", but they are SOOOOOOO empty... Anyway, this is not a music.. This is a pure celebration of human-being.
If you are a real virtuoso 3 strings are more than enough either for folk or classical. Just search for a great example on the tube (Alexey Arkhipovsky), check him here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nvi2PYYMa04.html
A cules mult folclor in grelele condiții tehnice de atunci
I happen to like both Hungarian and Romanian folk music--and even saw Muzsikás and Márta Sebestyén perform in Boston. A couple of months ago, I was in Transylvania, in the town with the highest elevation in Romania. As I walked up a winding road into the Carpathians, I saw all these places with hunting motifs, not to mention signs in Romanian warning about bears. I couldn't help thinking of Bartok's mythical masterpiece, "The Enchanted Stags."
the town with the highest elevation in Romania is Predeal and is not in Transylvania (was not ever), there was the border between Transylvania and Wallachia!
@@MrQ454 Thanks for the correction. I was thinking of the larger historical region, with a southern border somewhere between Brasov and Sinaia. I did spend some time in Predeal and, as an outsider in the company of Romanians, I was struck there by what seemed signs of cultural overlaps--including a procession of people in traditional costumes and flags from Hungary, Serbia and Ukraine. I know there's also a difference between the power that rules a given territory and the mix of inhabitants--and that Romanian presence here predates any other part of the mix that's identifiably present today.
@@lovettboston Sinaia also is not in Transylvania. Brașov was the Southern city of Transylvania, in fact Bran Citadel was at first customs point for the city of Brasov!
@@lovettboston probably that was an international folk festival (something like this-casadeculturafagaras.ro/festivalul-international-de-folclor-garofita-pietrei-craiului/). In Europe it is not exceptional that many foreign countries send their formation to others festivals!
@@MrQ454 I wouldn't be surprised. Though I'm familiar with the demographics in this part of Europe--and their overlaps--I have to admit the people I saw looked more like a colorful pageant than a demonstration connected with some kind of grievance.
@@ciprianpopa1503 if you need a 3 string viola player just say. I,m a portuguese classic musician but I learn how to play it from the first time that a meat hungarian and romanian folk style. I fall imediatly in love with it.

The contrast and though unity is so fascinating. Tuxedo against the knot on the string at 1:11 - different approaches, same humble and dedication to music. Just remark the difference between playing the same theme beginning at 12:50 and at 14:50, after the catalizator effect of the folk musicians.
Wonderful! Very original performance: classical orchestra and fiddlers playing together! All their faces show they like what they are doing. I suppose ”Bota and Invertita” come from the romaninan ”Bătuta și Învârtita” (Beat and Spin).
Thank you for uploading ! I've been looking for it and it's beautiful...I can't stop listening to it; Romanian music is so beautiful after all and Bartok is a genius...but this interpretation is what I was looking for
though that comment is in spanish, bella also means beautiful in spanish (but it's pronounced different, in spanish "-lla" is pronounced as it was "ya")
Thanks for uploading! The more I watch it,the more I love it! This music is usually played by strings orchestra, but in this movie some brass sections are the key.I was really surprised!
Szegény Bartók, mennyit támadták a magyar tahók magyartalansággal vádolva, mert román népzenét mert gyűjteni. De ő szerencsére nem hagyta magát befolyásolni a tahóktól,így lett kultúrkörökben a világ leghíresebb magyarja,a XX.század egyik legnagyobb zeneszerzője, akire minden magyar ember büszke lehet.
I love the Hungarian-Roman Folkcore melodies. And this melodies I first hear here. I search after it: Béla Bartók: Rumanian Folk Dances (1915, tanscribed for strings by Arthur Willner) with source tunes Bota és Invertita (Bota and Invertita) - Muzsikás string band I. Joc cu bata (Dance with Sticks) II. Braul (Waistband Dance) Pe loc (Pe Loc) - flute III. Pe Loc (Stamping Dance) IV. Buciumeana (Hornpipe Dance) V. Poarca Romaneasca (Rumanian Polka) Méhkeréki táncok (Dances of Méhkerék) - string band VI. VII. Maruntel (Quick Dance) - Takács and Muzsikás
Wow..! 05:30 the people wiping they tears.. Lady in red ,4th from the left in the middle row... A hungarian that weep at a romanian song....I thought I saw everything in my life. I am used with hungarians spitting on everything what is romanian. I am accustomed to their hatred. I do not know how to react to their kindness. I never felt it.
