(Dutch below)
This 2013 MV Agusta Brutale 675 has been trimmed down to 35kW, using a special mapping. A 70kW mapping is needed for this trim down, to be legal for the A2 license.
Very powerful bike, even with only 35kW it is one of the most powerful 35kW bikes.
Top speed is 150km/h, the rev limiter starts at 8000rpm. This is due to the special mapping. When you obtain your A license, you can load the 70kW (or 81kW) mapping onto the bike and enjoy it for a few more years.
You can read my review on www.35kw.nl/mer... (use the translator on top of the page)
==============================================

She's a beauty. You guys are really fortunate in that you can purchase a full bike and have it restricted for learners. This is what Australia and New Zealand should have adopted, but instead they have used engine capacity(660cc) and power-to-weight ratio(150kw/tonnne) limitations. So yes, we do get to ride some decent machines but these are tamer (and sometimes heavier) versions of their "full" siblings and in most cases cannot be derestricted once you're on your full license. And if you haven't guessed it, they come at quite a premium price tag (not much less than the full versions). Just a side note, this comment is based on the new Triumph and Ducati additions to the learner approved family(LAMS).
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 9 лет назад
I've seen the LAMS approved list, can you ride the Yamaha FZ6R (Fazer 600) at full power, which is about 70kW? Because we have the A1 license for 125cc and the A2 license for up to 35kW (which can be >660cc bikes), premium price tags are given to second hand 125cc bikes. Dealerships ask a lot for these bikes and as you can understand, they don't sell much A1 (125cc) bikes.
@avimistry8820
@avimistry8820 9 лет назад
Amersfoort81 Unfortunately not, power is basically capped at 40kW (depending on weight, to stay within the power-to-weight limit). I guess we initially have it better as we can ride any LAMS bike on a learners(A1) and restricted (A2), which is basically the first 2 years of riding. It's up to the individual to use his/her discretion(common sense) to decide on a starter bike but most would start on a 250/300 and then upgrade to a "bigger" LAMS bike once on their restricted, or just wait it out till their full. Let me tell you, those bigger CC LAMS bikes are no slouch and can see a first timer land in a lot of trouble if they're not careful. And I don't mean with the police. Since the introduction of LAMS all bikes on the list have seen a bump up in price/value and new models are just ridiculously priced to capitalise on this market.
@avimistry8820
@avimistry8820 9 лет назад
Amersfoort81 My issue is with the bigger LAMS bikes being not only un-detunable versions of their full siblings but also costing almost as much. I'd rather spend the extra $s for the full, have it restricted, and then derestricted when I'm all legal. Maybe this could be allowed for those on their restricted and X amount of experience. But then it would kill the need for bikes like the Triumph Street Triple 660 and Ducati Monster 659.

Some of the 35kW bikes over here can't be set back to full power too. For instance the Yamaha MT-07 (maybe known as FZ-07 down under) is sold as 35kW or full power. You can't destrict the 35kW model, nor can you restrict the full power version (well, you can with a lot of paperwork). Both cost the same. But most of the time after a few years you get tired of a bike and sell it anyway. I've had about 11 or 12 bikes in 15 years. They come and go.
@avimistry8820
@avimistry8820 9 лет назад
Amersfoort81 Ahh the famous MT-07.. The version we get in NZ is 655cc, 39kW, 57.5NM, with a remapped powerband, developed specifically for Australia and NZ LAMS. As far as derestricting goes, the throttle stop can be swapped out to give 25% more throttle and that's about it. Don't think we'll ever get the full here but, from the reviews, the drop in power doesn't translate to a drop in fun factor. Yeah, we men do tend to outgrow our toys fairly quick. It's quite common to see NZ riders with 2 bikes, one sport and one more sensible daily commuter. That would make sense for me as I plan to commute full time, and love a good dash of the twisties on the weekend. But bikes like the MT-07/-09, MV Agusta Brutale, Triumph Street Triple, Ducati Monster now offer the best of both worlds.

No, I wrote down the kph. It does 93,75mph and that's where it draws the line. Might put 94mph on the display, but it won't cut you any slack. That's where you can't go beyond the 35kW limit. A full power Brutale 675 has about 81kW and I think will reach up to about 220-230km/h = 137-144mph. You don't want to ride at those speeds on naked bike.

I thought that the bike was yours :), anyway, i own this bike from some months (full power) and for now i'm very very satisfied in every sense.. After those 8000 rpm appear the other face of this bike ;) My only hope is to don't have some electronic problems like a lot of people just had, i believe that with the last update of the MVICS everything will work properly :)

Woha the limiter enter just when all the power is coming.. well anyway sounds good even with 35kw ;) hope u can enjoy this bike with full power soon! Lamps
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 11 лет назад
You will hit the rev limiter very quickly. But there is more than enough power even under 8000tpm. It's not my bike, was reviewing it for the Dutch MV Agusta importer. Right now I own a Kawasaki ER-5 with 37kW, but I can tell you this Brutale 675 feels a lot more powerful, even with 35kW. More cc's, more torque.. and an extra cylinder ofcourse. At the fuelpump you will notice the difference, the ER-5 takes little sips compared to the Brutale. :)

@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 11 лет назад

The sound is awesome indeed! Wind noise was bad, I know. Bought another camera last year with external mic, placed in my helmet. Less wind noise. I've made a video about the F3 675 too. That one was shot with the new cam.

@benhizzle at what minute/second? I don't see a car at the part where I'm entering the highway. And don't start calling names. Or do you mean the truck which is switching lanes? He's moving aside, I'm just passing when there is enough space, not cutting off, because he can still move aside to the lane of his choice.
@TheMuddatrucker
@TheMuddatrucker 10 лет назад
Benhizzle is correct, at around 2.30 as your leaving the fuel station you cut the car off who was sat in front of you waiting to pull out, nothing major but made you look very ignorant.
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 10 лет назад
Thanks. Ah, well, I was on the main road before him (even though I passed him -hey I'm on a motorcycle!-) and he has to give me right of way, which he did. In my country if we can get past cars, we do. This wasn't cutting off, maybe cutting the line, but that's what you are able to do when you are smaller on a motorcycle. :)

Even at 35kW, it's pretty quick.
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 8 лет назад
It sure is! Only problem is that the rev limiter ends all the fun at 160km/h. You are at that speed in no time.
@vitalykutuzov3331
@vitalykutuzov3331 9 лет назад
How are you finding it? I want it as an A2 bike, And I'm struggling to decide between this and a Street Triple. What do you think?
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 9 лет назад
Vitaly Kutuzov Same as F3 675, except seating position is better, yet you catch more wind. A lot of power until the rev limiter comes in (@ 160km/h). I'd prefer it above the F3, because of sitting position.
@vitalykutuzov3331
@vitalykutuzov3331 9 лет назад
Amersfoort81 I've sat on it today, and loved it, and it looks a lot better in person. WHen you say that the rev limiter comes in- does it stop accelerating, or does it do it more slowly?
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 9 лет назад
It just stops at 160km/h. It's like you are constantly riding against a soft rubber wall.
@vitalykutuzov3331
@vitalykutuzov3331 9 лет назад
Amersfoort81 Ah, I see! That kind of sucks, to be honest, but I rarely go over that speed anyway, especially here, in the UK. Thanks for the info!

is it just electronically restricted? can I still install the qd exhaust and it will sound the same
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 7 лет назад
It's a mapping, yes. Why would you want to install another exhaust system on it? MV Agusta is one of the few brands where you don't need a different exhaust. Unless you might want to lose some weight. Or maybe you don't like the looks. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. :) But it will sound the same and you can probably fit it.
@ReinventedOrigin
@ReinventedOrigin 7 лет назад
Amersfoort81 the qd exhaust is alot more beefier and it looks better, they'res nothing wrong with the stock one I love it but I hate the looks...
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 7 лет назад
Ah ok, thanks for the explanation. The sound of the original exhaust is loud, so no problem there. I don't have problems with the looks. I just love the MV Agusta all the way. One of the best looking bikes ever and a timeless design. In Italy they sure know how to build nice bikes! Only downside to 35kW is that it is limited to 160km/h and you are reaching the 35kW rev limiter in no time.
@ReinventedOrigin
@ReinventedOrigin 7 лет назад
Amersfoort81 I'm looking at getting the 35kw model but they don't produce the 675 brutale anymore as far as I'm aware... would love an updated model.

@MotoSnax

They leave the factory with a 70kW mapping and registration. Then a 35kW mapping is loaded onto the bike for the A2 license. Normally they leave the factory with about 81-83kW.

@MotoSnax

This one is restricted to 35kW, so it won't ride faster than 160km/h... if your full power 675 only goes 205km/h in sport mode, something is not right.

Is this 35kw map available anywhere ? Local dealer doesn't have it , so thought could be downloaded some where
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 8 лет назад
+B NA I don't know... let your dealer ask their importer. There should be a 35kW, 70kW and 81kW (or 83kW) mapping. The Dutch importer imports them from Italy with a 70kW mapping, so it's a 70kW motorcycle when entering the country. From there on they can set it back to 35kW.
@JackSwatman
@JackSwatman 9 лет назад
Hi man, so there's a map to take it to 70kw. But then what takes it to 35kw? I'm having the same issue trying to restrict my street triple, i have been told that the only real way to get it down to 35kw is by using a throttle stop. How have you lowered the Rev limiter?
@MotoSnax
@MotoSnax 9 лет назад
This is really an ecu mapping. It has no throttle stop. The mapping lowers the rev limiter. This was all done by the importer, I just had this bije for a week to make a review about it. Good luck with your Triumph!
@JackSwatman
@JackSwatman 9 лет назад

Евгений Беседа Your MV Agusta dealer can help you with a 35kW mapping, IF the bike has been bought new with 70kW mapping. I'm unsure if this is possible in any country in the world. In The Netherlands it's possible and at least in other European countries too. Not sure about the rest.
