Roadracing World's Sam Fleming and Melissa Berkoff visited the MV Agusta factory in Varese Italy in April 2022.
It is very rare to be able to video inside a modern motorcycle factory so you can join Sam and Melissa in a detailed walk through the factory to learn about just in time inventory, machining valve heads and crankcases, the pros and cons of undercut forged transmissions, and how the beauty and quality of MV motorcycles are built.
This is a three part series.
Part 1 has a little context and history of MV (while watching Melissa ride a 2022 F3 Superveloce) before starting the factory tour.
Most of these videos are unscripted and had to be shot contemporaneously with the tour so forgive any verbal slips or the handheld nature of the camera work.
00:15 Introduction to the Factory
02:34 Ride with Ilario and short history of MV
06:05 Melissa uses the MV app to debrief her ride with Ilario
06:48 Roberto, our factory guide
09:25 Preassembly area
11:21 Valve heads and crank cases
We hope you find this look inside the factory as fascinating as we did. Please let us know in the comments!

Having spent a few days at the factory in November, it was great to watch this. Also, Stefano is a great guy and I can tell you he is DEVOTED to customer service.

@@armyofdarknessmotorcyclesb2883 Great job. I appreciate the coverage of and attention to one of the most storied motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Everyone who works for MV is passionate about the brand, its history and its future.

After watching these vids, I want an MV. Have had Guzzi's, Ducati's and a Benelli.

We knew the Castiglioni family very well. We would often stay at the family hotel which was owned by Claudio's brother. Sadly the family sold all it's interests in MV and it has a new Russian owner. This famous mark is now being taken in a new direction , although i'm not convinced about the new models!

The stories you must have! KTM, the Austrian motorcycle powerhouse, has purchased 25.1% of MV. That can only be a good thing as it will expand the logistical and production resources. www.roadracingworld.com/news/ktm-buys-25-1-stake-in-mv-agusta/#:~:text=Within%20the%20framework%20of%20this,and%20take%20over%20the%20purchasing.

Please don't refer to the "triple clamps" as "triple trees". I'v been a biker for 55 years and it was some internet influencer that started calling them "triple trees". Wrong. In addition, kind of and oops, you referred to some castings as "forgings". You later corrected yourself, so obviously a simple brain fart. Owning an MV I am thrilled to see your informative tour and very happy that the company is so open. Thanks, I'll continue with the other parts now. Keep up the good work.

Glad to hear you liked the videos! Make sure to find us at a track sometime and we can deconstruct the etymology of trees, clamps and, god forbid, yokes. :)
