What Does The Future Hold For MV Agusta? 

Dealerships and parts are a main holdup for me buying an MV. Nearest dealer is 4 hours away. Also afraid of years down the road will I be able to get parts to keep it on the road and not just have a piece of “art” sitting in my garage. Hopefully things will pan out cause I’d love to own a Brutale. Such a beautiful bike.

From what I hear the new MV's are pretty reliable but the lack of a dealer network is a deal breaker for most people, it would be amazing to see that change.

Always wanted an MV Agusta. Closest dealer is approx 600km from where I live so I've never pulled the trigger on one. There's a KTM dealer in my town thought...Fingers crossed 😊. Thanks for the vid ✌️

If KTM and MV Agusta will work like Kawasaki and Bimota this can be a very good relationship. MV can use WP suspensions, KTM electronics and switchgear but have its own styling and 4 and 3 cylinder engines while KTM focus on 2 cylinder engines. They can share the boring stuff (electronics, brakes, suspension) but be apart where it matters to distinguish brands (frame, aesthetics and engines)

I have been driving bikes for 20 years (mostly Japanese RR), but my Rivale and Brutale just made me fall in love with Agusta's bikes. Though, i really hope that they fix their dealer/workshop-network, and delivery time on parts...

Great video. These are the Ferrari/Lambos of the motorcycle world. Ducati was having problems until VW/Audi parent company.(Bugatti, Porsche, Bentley) lots of R&D. KTM has been licking at the heels of number 3, Kawasaki. I love premium bikes as a vehicle enthusiast. I own my second Super Duke 1290r and a MV AGusta 800rr Dragster Pirelli Edition number 27/200. Most bikes are very dependable for 21st century. I live on Hawaii with limited any kind of dealerships. I have owned exotic cars and parts can be a headache but I own other vehicles just like most people usa. I enjoy My MV just looking at it almost as much as riding. I owned a Lamborghini in the past. I enjoyed just looking. They really pull on your hearts strings plus their special engines and exclusivity. Hondas, Harley’s and Fords on every corner. I know the history of the company when I make purchases as I am not a Joneses type person. I enjoy engineering. These bikes need no or just minimal mods from the factory. MV’s are awesome bikes. Harley’s are overpriced for an oil Cooled motor. These bikes are the cream of the crop with F1 tech. Harley even owned MV for awhile. Help build the recent triple cylinder. MV triples broke all kinds of records in the 60’s even before triumph. Their 4 cylinder motor engineered by Ferrari. Unbelievable heritage. I was a Ducati fanboy until recently. KTM and MV make some outstanding engines and transmissions. They are open minded for the future whereas some companies are not. They are thinking like Tesla, the future today.

Been riding for over 8 years and just purchased a 2016 Brutale Dragster. It's definitely a different riding experience and I am obsessed with it. Makes me want to just buy MV Agusta if they can get more accessible. But I love mine. Great great bike.

The first bike I ever purchased back in 2006 was a 2005 MV Agusta Brutale S, and I loved it. However, the parts issue became a real problem for me, and once I moved to Europe, I took the opportunity to sell it and never looked back. It’s a shame that 17 years later, this is still a problem in the US. I’m back in the States now, and I do reminisce about MV Agusta, but I will surely not purchase another one until they get this parts distribution and support sorted.

I owned a 2017 F4RR. Too many mechanical and electrical issues. I was expecting a reliable motorcycle but very disappointed. My dealer dropped the MV brand from the show room. Issues I had with the motorcycle: electrical wiring issue which was fully replaced under warranty, oil leak from the crank where the sprocket is (even after dealer servicing it), gas tank deformation due to ethanol content in the US gasoline (replaced under warranty), engine overheating issue even with a better water impeller installed, vibrating mirror that was replaced under warranty, LCD dash that becomes dark & unreadable when the bike is parked under the sunlight for too longer. Issues with dealership: untrained mechanics due to high turnover, careless work (missing screws, missing fasteners, overtorquing causing damage to engine crankcase, missing clips, did not put the fairing back correctly after service), misdiagnosed problems causing even more expensive service. I’ve seen two other customers with Brutale 800 (MY 2017) whose engine was broken and replaced under warranty. The F4 or any MV bikes are motorcycle art for the living room literally. My F4 is the most expensive living room decor there is. I’m still holding onto it for my project bike and learning to service it myself. The F4 is a great motorcycle when it is working but my ownership has been plagued with too many unscheduled visit to the dealer. I will forever never consider buying another MV Agusta again. My Ducati is surprisingly a much more reliable bike from electrical and mechanical perspectives. Aftermarket parts are plentiful. Dealership experience has been very positive so far. Service work has been great also. Sorry MV Agusta, you are extremely beautiful to ride and to look at but I have no patience in dealing with many negative ownership experiences. YMMV.

As long as I got my MG V11 Sport as my daily ride, an F4 1000S would be my spring/summer ride and stay sitting in the winter, but I met a guy that daily rode his 2012 F4 and I brought up massimo tamburini as the first thing and he lit up with excitement lol gotta love bikes!

I own a 2016 MV Agusta F4 (Pearl White). MVs are very reliable depending on the year, but once any issues have been fixed, all MVs run great. Luckily for me there are 3 MV dealers i can go to & 2 of them are only 1hr away. & i only go to OC motorcycles in Costa Mesa. I am sure KTM knows what there doing with MV. Parts for me have been pretty easy, but i havent really needed parts tho. When i do need parts it sometimes takes a while, longest i ever waited was 2 weeks. Im sure MV is gonna thrive once the part & dealer situation is fixed tho. My F4 is the best bike i have ever owned. Cant wait to get more MVs.

Taking delivery of my new(leftover) 2021 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Rosso tomorrow morning. I hope it's as good a bike as my Street Triple R 765 was!

I tried buying a MV Brutale a couple years back from a MV "dealership in Toronto, the only one, and they didn't even stock a single bike...and they were mainly a repair shop. I ended up going KTM instead and I'm willing to bet my dealer will be a MV dealer in the future. Look forward to getting my Brutale after all

I’ve had my MV since 2017 and in that time I’ve had 3 dealers go bust or resign the franchise. I’m on my 4th now, the 2nd that is also a KTM dealer. Ironically I bought a KTM in 2009 and that dealer/importer also went bust. Motorcycle brands generally have zero awareness of the customer experience and I find that dealers are mostly incompetent even when you can actually find one that sticks around long enough to be of any use. Far and away the worse aspect of motorcycle ownership. Looking forward to your TV SCS review. Could be my next bike! 🍿

I’ve always wanted a Italian bike but parts and service have always been a concern in the US market.

I am going to visit the MV Augusta certified dealership in Las Vegas next week. I am interested in their maintenance personnel, parts department and of course sales. If things go well I plan to buy one this fall. If not, I will likely get a BMW.

I have a 2016 Turismo Veloce & yes it is as reliable as any of the bikes I have / had except for 2 minor only issues. 1) the low rmp fueling, the engine idles below 1000rpm & occasionally stalls at traffic stop. Last year I sent it to dealer to download the latest factory engine mapping & ya nomore engine stalling but the rpm still hovers 1000 & below. 2) the quick shifter acts up sometime late last yr. Off the quick shifter function & rides it as usually, infact I feel more engaged to the bike without the quick shifter 👍

Love the look of MV's especially the Superveloce but with the investment from Pierer they do need to lower prices in the U.S. Otherwise people are going to go with a know quantity like Ducati. With Ducati you have high performance, Italian design, dealerships and lower prices (relatively). If they can match or exceed Ducati's dealer footprint and have decent reliability and parts availability I may look to trade in my R9T for a superveloce.

Absolutely gorgeous bikes but as you point out it will depend on the dealer network. In most places today you can't find them and can't fix them.

From where I lived in the US , it was 500 miles to the next dealership . Now that I live on a Caribbean island , I have the ONLY one in the country. ❤ I took a lot of "maybe parts" with me. But WhatsApp for a dealership in Europe and DHL is mandatory.

Here in India many people want to own a mv but in whole of India there's only 3 dealerships and more over to get the spare parts it would take 8 to 9 months and there are very less good mechanics in the service center who could work on the bike truly a sad thing,and because of these reasons people buy Ducati over MV agusta even though they love mv bikes

Looks like the only MV Augusta you can buy now in the States is unsold 2022 models.Have not seen any 2023 offered in the states by any dealers. They don’t seem to have any dealers that are willing to carry the brand. Even my local dealer has 3 bikes left and no longer has MV Augusta Logo on his website!

MV has a decent selection of bikes to suit people looking for the highest build quality at different power points and body positions, while being beautifully designed, in some ways even more than the ducati Panigale bikes. They'll likely make sales in this day and age the same way bugatti and other luxury brands do, or their luxury competition with bikes selling in that $30-50k+ range. Selling beside ktm might actually be the biggest negative against their own desire to be a luxury brand, they should probably at least also try to sell in Ferrari, pagani, bugatti, and other more "exclusive" vehicle showrooms

I love MV Agusta. In fact my ride is F4RR. The only problem i face with MV Agusta was the parts. Very difficult to find MV Agusta parts.

I’ve owned a 675 Brutale and an 800 Dragster. Beautiful bikes but the dragster had a terrible sprag clutch issue. Under the Russian owner, prices went through the roof. There are a lot of better bikes you could buy for the same money. Just making things more expensive doesn’t make it better or more exclusive, just rarer.

I have a 2015 1090RR Brutale. I rarely ride it because I'm afraid something may go wrong and I'll never be able to order parts as the dealer I purchased the bike from no longer carries the brand, and nobody else near me does either. I can't sell it because I'm not going to take the hit. So it stays in my house while I ride and enjoy my Japanese bikes.

I think if they are priced higher than Ducatis then they will have a tough time selling as Ducati is already in the United States considered an expensive brand. I ride a Diavel V4 and I considered the Brutale but the value of the MV was not comparable to the Diavel V4. I hope MV can see succeed as they build great bikes. Slow Rider out.

I bet if they changed the MV logo to something of a serious nature instead of the cartoon, that would have an effect on profits all by itself.

Regardless of dealership support and parts, it's all about economics, these things cost serious money. You don't see many of the higher end of the Ducatis or BMWs around because of price. I own/owned many KTMs or versions of them and I don't want to see a WP suspension or any parts that say KTM on a MV. People that can afford these bikes are well established, probably at least in their 40s and most of them will go out and buy a Harley, I'm not saying everyone but most ( I'm in my 60s and would buy MV over Harley any day, in fact will get one as soon as the 23s make it to the states).

Great news. I'd love a Turismo Lusso but the nearest dealer is 2+ hrs away so settled for a Tracer 9 GT. Great bike, The Yamaha but it's no MV. Put a dealer in my city or within a half hour and I'm a buyer.

Since KTM started charging a monthly subscription for options that are already on the bikes, they're no longer a legitimate manufacturer in my mind.

Bummed that the lucky explorer project isn't gonna get the KTM infusion it would have sorely needed and has been relegated to the back burner. Triumph has proved why a triple even with T plane crank is still not gonna beat a 270 and a V off road. This is the saddest part of this merger story.

Seems the dealer network in the USA for all the Italian brands is weak, Ducati has improved, Piaggio is struggling. I love the Italian machines, I have a Multistrada V4s, Tuono Factory 1100, and the Moto Guzzi Mandello V100s. All are amazing bikes, arguable best in there segment. If I was not mechanically inclined I would have thought twice about purchasing these bikes. I will give a big shout out to AF1 Racing for being able to supply a huge selection of parts and accessories for Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, they are indispensable and do a fantastic job, but dealers like that are extremely rare unfortunately. I have an itch for an MV Brutale 1000 rs, maybe I will scratch it when things improve with the company. Wish them great success!!

For a lot of industries parts can come from the same place and used by different brands down to the nuts and bolts for decades now and it’s always been you get things cheaper if you’re buying more of them. It’s called a supply agreement. Perhaps you’ve been living under a rock as with Covid manufacturing started to stop all around the world in all industries due to not being able to get simple parts out of China. Yes, Chinese products are in many things that peps don’t even realise. Those against this should take a look at the labels of clothing items they wear as 90% is now made in China/Asia regions.

I've always liked how MV bikes look, their performance hasn't always measured up... And the price.. YEESH, $30,000 for an F3 with some new fairings and lights, you're out of your mind.

With those prices not much room to move around with in the NA market. It's all about the bank for the buck!

Parts availability and questionable reliability is the reason I told the wife she shouldn’t buy an MV for her next motorcycle and after considering that advice she bought a Triumph.

A luxury brand doesn't make sense in the motorcycle market. They will never succeed with this mindset.

I know MV Agusta wants to see themselves as a luxury brand. But to get traction in the US they are going to need to offer more compelling value for money products. I mean why exactly does the MV Agusta F3 cost more than a BMW S1000rr?

If they want to move Forward, Probably an Indian Company should take over them...Selling only 50k dollar bikes for collectors is not a good way to Survive in the market.

I think this is awful. //////As of today KTM now controls MV Agusta. I have had a couple of these beautiful bikes, the last one was a Super Veloce that I bought secondhand. The 3 cylinder bikes have made them relatively affordable secondhand- the dealer network is sparse and patchy but they are essentially reliable and great performers. MV have essentially had a sportsbike (the F model) and a naked bike (Brutale), for roughly the last decade they added a three cylinder engine to the four cylinder and dressed the F & Brutale in different “skins” to make the SV & Dragster. They also dipped their toe in the supermoto and tall rounder segment using the 3 cylinder engine in the Rivale, Stradale and Turismo Veloce. The reintroduction of a Euro 5 + compliant 4 cylinder has been put into the Brutale and Super Veloce formats. Owning and riding any of these bikes feels like a privilege and an event respectively. However two main people have gone in the last 12 months, the chief designer Adrian Morton and the chief engineer Brian Gillen. Medium term I can’t see KTM continuing with the development of the cheaper 3 cylinder bikes or longer term even supporting them (their UK dealers are not too interested in supporting their bikes based on the old 950-990 v twin engine). KTM are not going to want competition for the Superduke which puts at least the 3 cylinder Brutale / Dragster in danger if not the 4 cylinder Brutale which sells at an 80% premium to the Superduke. The only area where there is no overlap is the sportsbike; F & S. It could be argued that the TV does not swim in the same waters as the Adventure and i guess it could be fitted out with a de tuned 4 cylinder to compete with the Ducati Multistrada’s of the world. I think MV will be to KTM what Lamborghini is to Audi . It will once again become top end sports focussed and unfortunately for me unaffordable other than as a poster on the wall. The closest I have ever come to owning a Lamborghini Countach is a picture of a Lamborghini Countach. My recent KTM ownership was a Superduke GT that had to have certain performance modes unlocked with an additional payments and random electronic glitches. Their dealer network locally is also stretched, trying to get service from them is still not at Japanese levels. Perhaps this is only the case in the UK?

My problem is as a ex superveloce ago buyer, i say ex because it's been over two years and i wound up getting my 34k cash back from dealer. Mv is taking to long to get bikes to states and parts is a very big issue as well! I'm hearing getting parts at better price but these bike prices aren't reflecting it. Average price of a Mv agusta bike is 25-30k out the door and I'm not seeing top of the line suspension.... nor brake mastercylinder. finally the f3 got a led update which has been needed! Notice how they are still building a superveloce ago in this video. we're almost going on 4 years since that bike was unveiled... I've been a fan of mv but personally i'm not going back, triumph got my money with their moto 2 street triple! 18k cash, brembo Stylema brakes, ohlins full suspension, exotic color racing yellow, bluetooth, gps, cruise control, swingarm spools, loads off carbon fiber, sequential led signals and all. Mv has shown they're liars and i do not do business with liars. Maybe one day mv will start telling the truth and bring good business here to the states. I would not give them the benefit of doubt though. Update: Mv is not supplying racing kit for their 2022 and forward models... With no price reduction! thats is seriously scummy.

I've been wanting a MV agusta but I wanted the turismo veloce but I wish it wasn't a 3 cylinder (I hate the sound of them) and I wish it was more than 800cc. That and it cost 25k and that's ALOT of $$$$. If they would make a 1000cc + with a inline 4 or even a v4. I'd trade my multistrada in immediately.

Sorry I’m confused. What I understood was that the KTM parent company has bought 25.15% of MV & therefore has a major say in how MV Agusta will develop in the future. It doesn’t make sense, sorry.

Great. So they can buy parts in bulk; and save bulk. Yet still charge over the top. MV. Is a lovely looking bike and apparently they go well. Having an expensive bike in a niche market is fraught with problems. Dealerships; number OF dealerships; spares( as mentioned) quality of service; availability of service; treatment of customers; cost of the bikes; cost of parts; honouring any Warranty; ;and probably the biggest problem is actually selling “Top Tier Motorcycles” Motorcycles- especially the ones at the top of the food pyramid- are basically toys. They’re not really the utilitarian Transport vehicle they once were. We keep them in the garage for that day when it’s blue, and shiny, and the air is fresh and invigorating: for when you want to feel alive and enjoy that visceral mechanical thing that you paid beaucoup bucks for. And made you a Motorcyclist in the first instance. And you miss them when you ain’t ridden for some time. And they do this s o o wonderfully. When we have economic downturns, what do we do? We spend less. We can’t ( or are not permitted to) buy a beautiful toy - Ala an M.V Augusta- over a sensible family option. One of the breadwinners has lost a job. Lost some hours.etc. Interests rates have climbed again. Food.Milk.Petrol. Clothing. We ALL know the story. It becomes impossible to justify it. The Germans; the Japanese, the English all make top-tier bikes that go like rockets AND are reasonably priced. Prices that Mr J.A Familyman can maybe access. Same with his service requests and his parts availability. MV. should perhaps be a little less concerned with high prices; sell the bike without a stratospheric price tag and concentrate on allaying buyers’ fears that exclusivity means We; the Buyer- get screwed again. They look beautiful. They go very well.They sound gorgeous. They’d look good in glass case in my front entrance- but they gotta be affordable to more than 10% of the Motorcycling World. T’would be a travesty if such a venerable brand disappeared forever.

There are beautiful motorcycles, a piece of art but very pricy and very uncomfortable to ride long distance. I bought a Ducati supersport instead........😃. I'm thinking to get the Moto Guzzi V100 ., beautiful Italian motorcycle for riding long distance., Drive shaft no chain maintenance or changing the chain and sprockets every few thousand miles.
