Mwc has spring bars vs fixed lugs. There’s a ton of hate for mwc but their watches are awesome. The new automatics in this style are surprisingly good and affordable.
Been looking at these for years but haven't pulled the trigger due to a lack of info and reviews. I'm sold. Always like this Tourneau case...but I can't afford CWC prices. Thanks for doing this vid Rob.
I have exactly the same watch. I was always wary of the bad press surrounding them in the UK, but have to say I'm really impressed. (For those that are concerned about it, the seconds hand hits all the markers too). You can also buy ex-display models for around half price. It may not be the 'real deal' CWC but they're £500-600 now. I'm not a Nato fan either, but they look great on a perlon or Tropic dive strap.
@@roadgent7921 Because some people are concerned about them being genuine military issue or not. If that doesn't bother you, they make good watches and offer much better value than CWC.
@Mark Dollman Very well. I have my eye on another MWC rather than this diver - the 36mm Dirty Dozen using the VD78 quartz (small sec dial). Thanks for the feedback.
It’s a group think kinda thing…. Someone else commented on a watch forum and then others just parrot what they’ve said. Take no notice of these alleged watch aficionados, buy what you like and enjoy.
Rob, great video as always. I was scoping out the similar CWC models but went with the MWC instead. Great mix of vintage 90's/00's with a bit of history along with a much better price tag. I own a CWC Falcon quartz chrono, and while it's a great watch, the value for money is just not there.
This looks this a take of CWC, who supply watches to the UK military, so as a Brit and a watch fan with naval history in the family, I've got an CWC G22 and SBS Diver. I'd never heard of MWC until this video. I guess they must have supplied similar watches to CWC to other military forces
Thank you Rob for showing us everything. All we're going to see is people shitting on the watches, saying they're ripping of so and so (CWC for example). I saw one person say, get one on your channel to compare, not knowing I've seen you review at least 2 CWC watches before. If you prefer a CWC with "real" heritage, then go plop down the $1200 bucks for one. There's room for everyone in this hobby.
@@edteach3r I think if MWC came clean and admitted it was a homage more people would respect them. Then again if they totally admitted it CWC might sue them. There might be some risk. So they sell a couple dozen watches to an Italian Military Police Squad up in the hills. Ta-Da! They are associated with Military and Police.
Thanks for this. I found an MWC model that looks outstanding but had never heard of the brand. Now I am going to buy it. Can you do a review of this one sometime: MWC Classic 46mm Replica WW2 Japanese Kamikaze Pattern Military Aviators Watch
I like this watch but I’d much rather have and spend the money on the original CWC model that is used for the British military. I believe they’re still used for it.
Talked to a few British friends in the navy and Army sadly they never evens hear of the brand they all are rocking Casio f91ws and some wearing g shocks
Hey Random Rob. Considering MWC's Zurich pedigree and that this model has a Swiss Movement, why does it not say, "Swiss Made," on the face? Just curious.
I just bought a CWC and the "Swiss Made" lettering is microscopic under the 6 o'clock area. Plus the Swiss are very particular about how many Swiss Made parts and where it is assembled to get the certification to be able to claim Swiss Made. I have heard they are loosening up the requirements as some LUX Brands are sourcing parts from other areas of the World these days.
I could absolutely love this, but there is something about the dial that I don't like. Maybe its the length of the minute markers that makes me not like the dial.
There is plenty of history with this brand, I mentioned in video. I like the tie to Ollech and Wajs. Don’t believe everything you hear from people that like to speak without doing a little research.
This is a standard Royal Navy diver design that was produced by many companies including MWC and CWC. CWC doesn't own the design, kind of like how Stowa or Laco don't own the flieger dial design.
At 3:04 the seconds hand can be seen moving back quite a bit after moving from the 26 to the 27 marker. I have this even on a Citizen eco drive but not as much as is seen here. Disappointing to say the least. Especially because otherwise the watch is very nice.
MWC are proper nato issue . I can confirm as got the evidence. So the nay sayers stating they are copying CWC are and stealing their thunder on the watch forums are wrong , As those cases are sold to anyone and the MOD will not discriminate on a contract.
I’ve been looking to Purdue’s this watch but now have come down to either automatic or quartz… Any one have an opinion / knowledge to which one is better built (quality’)
I purchased a Cwc pvd automatic diver. The coating starting rubbing off in less than 6days . Absolutely appalling customer service and questionable on my integrity. Returned the watch and awaiting my refund or legal action against them. Will never purchase from them again. All sweet and roses when purchasing but give them a problem and it’s a sour response.
No dear, the actual intellectual property for this type of case does not belong to that little British watch company. It belongs to a Swiss company that used to license it to several watch companies back in the day and CWC was just one among others. To sum it up, the CWC quartz diver is basically an homage itself like this MWC here. I am quite sure the CWC is better built but it’s Not the real deal.
@@BAF605I am not talking about the watch to be issued to some military, I am talking about the original design which DOES NOT belong to CWC (that you defined “real deal”). Given that I do not care because I would never buy nor a CWC nor a MWC
