Lol, but you have to wade through a lot of Jake Paul and JP wannabes to get here. Basically lots of the top insitutions started to put full lectures on YT. Good thing to listen to while doing something mind numbing.

This is a real brilliant presentation for not just it’s military aspect but also geographical, climate change, disaster, etc

If you have to pull out because you're causing too much damage, what you're fighting is not a war.

Still knows having them hands in your pockets will not only get you smoked but you'll be writing a To / From also. Be Safe gentlemen but make the enemy pay dearly for their mistakes.

John, what's your take on the 23 May 2017 Siege of Marawi? The Armed Forces of the Philippines never had any experience in Urban Warfare but managed to clear Marawi City within 5 months. Any feedback &/or strong opinions on this?

So if drone signals are a problem in concrete or signal disrupted areas can we airdrop/install signal boosters and use small but easy to maneuver drones or unmanned robots to do missions? I feel like we are using police to test strategies to deal with small scale combat scenarios in urban areas. Im studying geography/GIS and sustainability, water usage in the upcoming years has taken my attention and I see no end for conflict. I want to protect areas without losing human life but our previous war methods I have been studying wont work in city centers. I need to become an expert on modern warfare. Military intervention for relocating of people from parts of the city and control of resources seems to be the future of our national security and stabilization of modern trade networks and keeping allies in key areas. I am studying land use specifically and production of goods locally in areas changing along with climate, or previously unsuitable with new tech and scientific understanding of soil/plants/climate/pests. Thank you for the suggestion of Out of the Mountains, I picked it up on audible.

also he mentions studying urban operations. has anyone found any cool resources to start doing that?

I would probably start out with the book "The Battle of Mogadishu" by Matt Eversmann and Dan Schilling. It details the contact phase of Operation Gothic Serpent (Eversmann himself was the Ranger chalk leader in the first groups of operators to fast rope into the city).

This guy is painful to listen to Not that I don't really appreciate it, & him, & find this extremely fascinating, but he definitely needs to streamline his lecture

Have you listened to many talks or speeches by lower ranked officers or NCOs? This is a typical style of delivery. It's not refined or polished, but there is usually some good information if you can get used to it
