The Large Pulse Manul is one of my favourite mechs and it is so comforting to play with ECM, those high mounts and calming wubwubwub sounds.
While it used to be very high performing, with the new mechs and weapons, it feels weaker but as you can see from the gameplay, still very legit. (just less farmy, which is good)

I bought this mech few months ago and built it the same way. I don't pilot it a lot, but it's nice. By the way, what do you think about Manul or Ambush for a 4 LPLas SunSpider? (I don't own the Ambush, but the hardpoints look nice if you don't mind torso mounts, and it has a small heat quirk for the So8)

I like the exceedingly high mounts of the Energy Hardpoints on the Manul which also allows ECM on the LT with the SNS-D LT so I normally use the Manul chassis. When there are AMS events, I actually swap out the LT for the SNS-B LT for a dual AMS build with just one less DHS. Still does damage but gets some missiles too. - BrioS

Why does Betty sometimes tell you that a location is critical when the doll shows that there's still armor?

I'm not sure, maybe it's when you got through the standard amount of armor and all remaining armor comes from quirks (and/or skills). But don't quote me on that, it's just a guess.
