That's a fine looking bit of kit. I spent years as a bicycle enthusiast and the thinking and experience for most of us was that for distance, the leaned over position of the "racing bicycle" took weight off the spine and seat allowing the upper body to contribute to one's carriage. Of course for performance, our bicycles had very hard seats so as not to absorb power. But, you're so thoughtful in your choices I suspect that you've taken some time to go beyond the logical and rack up practical experience. Your pick certainly is in alignment with Harleys, which relative to other street motorcycles have the pilot in a more upright . . . leaned back even, riding position. Noticing that your bars have the palms of your hand facing down (as is quite common in motorcycling) I'm remembering some Sportsters I saw when I was younger that had a good deal of rise and downturn, turning the palms inward at about 45 degrees to horizontal. This to me seems to be even more of a comfortable position. -Don't know about how they'd be for performance. Finally, it's a journey of enlightenment and hobby fulfillment to be able to experiment as you are doing. -Very tasteful execution - that cycle of yours.

I get where you're coming from Michael with the direct feel of keeping everything aligned like your back and wrists, however for me personally I have tried the 10"mini apes on the last two Heritage models that I owned. I didn't like how they sat me back with a straight back that felt the bumps more and transferred them straight up my spine. Now, with my Sportglide I prefer the stock bars, as yes you do lean forward slightly, however that seems to take the pressure off my back and I can see everything out in front as I run her without the stock mini batwing. It feels more like riding a better handling M8 Fatboy, which is fine by me. Each to their own as only you know what will suit your comfort and style better. Getting my S&S superstreet pipe and S&S carbon breather fitted tomorrow thanks to you and your Vlog on them. Can't wait for the music to begin.👍🇦🇺😎😂 cheers, take care, ride safe mate.

Bundy Bear hmm I get where your coming from - that doesn’t sound comfortable, could have also been a suspension and seat issue too. But your right the stock setup on the Sport Glide is pretty good, that’s why I kept it for over a year. Happy with the change for me though, wish I did it earlier. All depends on height, body type, riding style, posture etc - so nothing will work for everyone! Enjoy the pipe and air cleaner - look, sound and feel awesome! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

The Moto Barista Thanks Michael, It looks and sounds amazing. I got the black pipe with black endcap. Now I want to buy the wrinkle black primary cover to match the pipe😱 ( here we go again Lol ). Port City Harley let me take out the 2020 Lowrider S while they did the wrenching and oh brother that is a nice bike to ride. Just handles so sweet through the twisties. I would definitely have one of those if I didn't have the Sportglide. Actually those bars weren't too bad but for me fwd controls would be a must have with my stuffed knee. Cheers mate, ride safe. 😎👍🇦🇺☕️

alot of the added benefits of risers is you eliminate alot of slack and flex in factory style bar setups especially with apes. Thats why it feels so direct.

Can never understand why having your arms so high can be comfortable coming from an endouro bike background I don't get it,but will have get a ride on a bike with that set up and see if is comfortable for me,you certainly are making me think outside the box,thanks Michael.
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista 4 года назад
It’s comfortable. It’s different though. The whole posture with your feet forward and your arms up gives you this laid back feeling, there is an attitude it evokes as you ride. I am also comfortable in a neutral position like my KTM 790.

Your bike is looking good brother! I just ordered some Highland bars from Harley they have a 10 inch rise and a 5-inch buldak excited to get on the bike. Everything you described is exactly the issue I have with it I love the bike it's just that the way I sit on it causes me lower back pain can I get that corrected.......... Ride Hard or stay home😎

Nice. I grew up with MX bars. How tall are you? I have to figure out what high risers are comfortable for me. Not easy, as I don’t know lots of people with high bars to test. Spending time with them seem keys to me. Thanks for the vid.
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista 3 года назад
Hey dude, I had the same issue - no one really runs this style here in Perth. I’m 6ft and the 10” risers with 1.5” pullback are perfect for me. The bars add an extra 2” I think. So they sit between chest and shoulder height.
@allsportscue9389
@allsportscue9389 3 года назад
@@TheMotoBarista I’m just shy of 6 feet. I have a 2019 Low Rider so the ergo for me might be different. Also, I might like to have a slight elbow bend. You like having the arms basically straight out to the bars as yours appear to be?
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista 3 года назад
@@allsportscue9389 my arms are straight when I am slouching back in the sit, maybe at a stand still or cruising down the highway. When I am in attack position and sitting up right, my ends have a comfortable bend in them.

I hate my stock ape hangers. I’m definitely switching to this style. But my biggest concern is pull back. I can figure out 1inch pullback or 2inch.
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista 3 года назад
The pullback rider gives about 1.5” of pullback and the bars have maybe 0.5”. If you need more, Kraus build a Raptor or T-Rex plate that allows for more pullback.

Hey Michael, I have a couple of questions, did you have to purchase longer brake and clutch cables and wiring harness to install these bars. On another note do you know if the rear brake pedal can be adjusted to a lower position, I hate the angle it sits at . Thanks and stay safe.
@TheMotoBarista
@TheMotoBarista 4 года назад
Hey mate, yes I had to purchase a longer brake and clutch cable. Because I went for the more premium braided cables the clutch cable was a a full swap, the brake cable I just swapped the upper cable. I don’t know about the brake pedal position - I don’t think so - I think you need to buy a new lever arm. I switched to mini floorboards which removed this issue though as it positions your foot higher - so could be an option?
@reddog907
@reddog907 4 года назад
The Moto Barista I did use a brake pedal from a fat boy it was lower but the pedal size was too small, anyway thanks for the feedback. Cheers

Im running the ODC 2.0 inverted front forks , 9.5 inch hard case performance risers, 1 1/8th inch thick Pro Taper bars with 4.13 height, GPR stabilizer. I am most likely going to order a set of 10 inch pull back Krause risers. I have the Corbin wall seat so that pulls me back. What triple trees are you running on your bike? They dont look like the stock triple trees.
