I just put the Slavens Lucky system in my 18 300w today. Totally mindblowing how it changed the bikes handling. Im 6-4 240lbs and the Xplors were resprung for my weight, but were still straight garbage compared to the Luckys. Worth every penny!

Raced mine for the first time yesterday and I agree. Definitely worth it.

this was the greatest upgrade i put on my 2019 Ktm 300xc! completely removing the air forks and going back to a trusted setup. there is increase in weight from the air fork but that is offfset in the performance. should look into the 3 way adjuster for the rear shock too. my tuner said that its was a major upgrade for a low cost. and wow was he right!

I'll check on that adjuster. Thanks for watching.

Ur probably the best C rider I know of, knowing how everything should be and feel.. I mean, many pro riders doesnt even know what they want.. but thats just me being jealous I guess.

Thanks, I definitely have opinions about what I like but I’m probably wrong a lot, lol. Thanks for watching.

Nice! I just got the Lucky system with Stillwell valving used for a good price, going to drop them into my '18 300 XC's AER forks. The system I'm getting is a take off from another rider who bought his bike and swapped in a spiffy Dal Soggio setup, which is way too rich a proposition for my low standards! Bonus, I'm an occasional racer in the "B" class and the Lucky setup is sprung and valved for a "B" rider who weighs about what I do, so I believe it should be a nice drop in and ago situation. I've never been happy with the air fork and am excited to change it to a spring system. The air fork sounds opposite of your XPLOR fork in that if I went down on air pressure looking for plushness, they ride in the spiky mid stroke too easily, much like a spring fork with too soft springs, and if I air them up to a proper level, they are much better of course, but then they feel "sticky" on successive sharp hits and the rebound feels fast. I rode another XC with the Lucky kit and after that my AER forks felt like pogo sticks 😆 I live in Colorado, land of many rocks. I don't think the single damping cartridge in the air fork is really enough to do the job when going fast in rocks, which subjects the fork to successive hits causing it to feel locked up, and air makes for an inconsistent spring, as it heats up and gets stiffer once into the ride.

Put both the lucky 2.0 and national shock on my xcf 250. It is an amazing off-road combo. Hitting obstacles at high speed is an afterthought now.

It’s amazing how much difference it can make. I’d like to try a national shock one of these days.

I just put the mx tech carts in my 2020 xcw. They are awesome. I also had a 2018, and did the dal soggio ds1 kit. It made them better, but they were still inconsistent.

Wow that's a nice trail.. That's something I would like to ride if I make it all the way on that side of the country. As far as the suspension goes, I can totally see it, night and day difference everybody was dropping bikes left and right yours stayed straight... IT'S THE SUSPENSION FOR SURE... BWHAHA

Love this trail. I have been thinking about sending my suspension off to Fastlap. Mr Hollingsworth when I called knew exactly the issues I am having when hitting roots and the suspension not being predictable. Just hate to spend the money and I dont see a improvement. Stay safe

Do you have the 4CS forks? Seems lie I remember your bike being a 2016. If so, the lucky kit would be a 1000% improvement. Thanks for watching!

Did you do gen 1 or gen 2? Heard the gen 2 is a little more MX oriented. Not sure if that is right.

i watch a lot of your videos and i ride at the ridge often . I ride an 2019 Xtrainer 300 lookin to do an upgrade on the suspension. Thinking of the lucky suspension my self. At 69 i don't do any really fast riding .

Я поставил на свой Beta xtrainer подвеску wp от husqvarna te300, и амортизатор и вилку с траверсами, и это потрясающий результат, теперь на очереди установка Lucky Carbon.

I have a 2021 300 XCW and the suspension feels great. Is my factory 2021 explore forks and PDS suspension updated and better than your 2018 was? I feel like my bike from factory is perfect. Curious if there where tweaks or modifications to XCW suspension between these years? On mine for example I can easily adjust the compression and rebound with clickers on the top of the forks... could you not do this on your 2018?? My bike feels just as good at high speed as an XC even while also being good slow in the gnarly stuff too
@biscuit3755
@biscuit3755 3 года назад
The 2020 and 2021 has much stiffer compression, which definitely makes it better. They are better, but the design is the same in that it puts all the rebound and much of the compression on one side. This causes several issues .
@apostate4apostate494
@apostate4apostate494 3 года назад
@@biscuit3755 gotcha. Thanks for the response. I prefer the new XCW for the woods (especially the gnarly stuff, roots, logs, hills, etc) over the XC. But if ever mixing in any moto track sections or jumping the bike a lot I prefer the feel of the XC more. Ideally, I’d like to own both bikes: 300XCW for the woods and gnar and then a 250 XC for mixing in some moto track sections into my riding. Either that or go for a 250SX to jump around on...so far the 2021 300XCW has been my favorite bike I’ve ever owned

Kim spent their entire R and D budget on forks for the 2021 bikes. Supposed to be much better.
@DirtBikingwithDonnie
@DirtBikingwithDonnie 3 года назад
Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what changes they made for 2021. I know that Chase's 2019 is better than my 2018 but we will probably get the Lucky kit for his bike too now. Thanks for watching.

@@DirtBikingwithDonnie from what I have heard and read the difference between 2019 and 2020/2021 are massive differences. Huge changes on mapping, TPI, and suspension setups. But I’m no expert just passing along what I heard
