I recently got back into MX VS ATV because of alive being free with gold this month, I ended up buying all out because it was more free roam based and that’s what my favorite thing was growing up playing MX vs ATV unleashed at my dads. I ended up finding your channel and you’re the only channel at the moment I even watch besides one or two other siege RU-vidrs. All your videos have been helping and have been addicting. This one helped me SOOO much. I know it’s 3 years old so I’m not sure if you’ll even see this but I felt the need to let you know that you have definitely made an impact with what your doing. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and love for these games. ✌️
Dude this is exactly what I needed. I "picked this up after seeing it on the Walmart shelf" and am enjoying it as a "second visit" to an old motocross career (my number was 151). Now my 6 year old and I are enjoying playing this game together. Thanks for teaching me so I can teach him.
Haven't played any kind of racing game since the PS2 days of ATV offroad fury 2, thnx for the video. Trying to teach my 6yr old stepson how to play more skillful games than Mario and this really helped lol
Used to love these games and then stopped playing for a while and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get back into this one, you've just sorted the job right out, cheers bro
You're selling yourself ridiculously short if playing these games for years and years only garners you a medium or below average skill level. If that was the case most people would clamour for this type of information from you. I know it's probably a humility thing but don't be afraid to say you kick ass or rock at something
ghostpapi i’ve always said this about his comments. it’s like he’s afraid to say how he really feels or offend someone. he tries to not make anyone angry lol.
One thing I want to add for the people who are new to these games. There is no one right way to do things. Dont get discouraged if you notice you're not doing exactly what someone else is doing or saying, everyone who plays these games is trying to improve and learn new ways to get faster. Contribute your experiences so we all can get better. Even pros can learn from beginners
Man! I just bought this and found out just how much I forgot. I played this with my son years ago and haven't played since so I need all the help I can get, (and lots of practice). Thanks for the clear and easy listening instruct.👍
I know this is old but whatever. You keep saying simple and make it look really easy and i am aaaallll over the track and always seem to land head first into the next double. You are really good at this man
Great Video Windham. Another great tip, is using the "carving" system in the game. creating lines and using those lines to get through certain "pain" areas of the track, also you gain speed using the lines your tires dug the previous lap. Hope that helps. Cheers. 👍
This is an awesome. I love the game even though I suck, but this series will hopefully get me good enough to try out some online. Oh and awesome video as always!
Personally I don’t like 1st person bc I can’t see my bike very well I like to be able to see where my whole bike is ganna land and we’re it going not just the front
One thing I found really helped overall speed in this game, once you get used to the controls turn preload off entirely. It really forces you to carry momentum through the corners and rhythms since you can't preload yourself to safety. Great video man. When you grow up riding and playing these games you tend to forget that not everyone else has too. Having to articulate your skills and techniques into a format that a new player can understand isn't always easy to do. Hell, even for us who play these religiously, sometimes we forget the basics and it's a nice refresher to hear. Definitely recommend continuing this series
I notice if you just lean back when going up a jump instead of using preload gives you a small boost too. I actually don't use the clutch when turning, I just hit the gas two or three times and it's usually a decent turn. I only use the clutch for sharp turns.
I used to play mx vs atv on ps2 and it was simple no leaning nothing hard. I can't even seem to keep the guy on the track. Do you steer with the lean or just left analog???
Thanks mate, this has helped me play better, could you please do more a how to / when to clutch boost??.. that i cannot get get right.. Thanks again for the cool videos....
I hope this works more or less the same in Legends since I'm a fresh noob and I have trouble with the jumps (I have almost zero experience with mx games)
Nice video bro. If you ever wanna do a more technical video demonstration like clutch popping, the lean back, using the berms.. get @ me and we can put something together.
Been watching your channel for awhile, I’ve been playing since mx and many other Moto games on console. I dig this series keep it coming!! If people dig it, make a lesson on scrubs and air control. Last thing... how is handling so smooth?
also, check out how leaning forward feels going off the faces of jumps. it’s very noticeable in first person view. and also, for example the right hand corner after the finish line before the whoops, try speeding up to it, pushing forward and leaning at the same time while holding the clutch in. no brakes and no gas. just gain speed heading toward turn, hold in clutch and lean forward while turning, you’ll rip around the corner faster then just leaning and using the gas
Idk if i don’t know how to tune or the physics are different, but I can’t control it for shit, I have been able to get decent at every other game BUT this one! I just can’t get the hang of it, bike over steers and rebounds coming out of corners (especially when clutching or hard on the gas) the power and clutch is so aggressive even wen tuned down, idk how people are tuning shit all the way up to the most aggressive stats and just hammering corners? U have a short “tuning” video but it’s not too in depth, so I would love to see an in-depth video about the tuning and maybe some theories or advice to why this game can be so hard to get the hang of as opposed to the other ones, idk if anyone else has had a struggle trying to figure this game play and physics out?
What you think about preload ? I think i heared you saying you don´t like it, but couldn´t tell you wich video that was..(hope i`m right.. if not I´m sorry) I think it´s really important becaus it gives you way more options to go through bumpy segments. Hope the new game (legends) will be a good one 👌🏻do you know the release date? peace ✌🏻
Ive been trying to get the oppo whip down and its just not feeling right.. im trying to throw some axel hodges stuff lol. If you can throw some good ones and explain thatd be sweet.
Yeah, the oppo is awesome in this game, but does take some getting used to. If we get another episode going, for sure will try to explain it the best I can! Thanks for watching man.
1 thing I don’t get about the game is when racing if someone just barely touches me I go flying off the track. This keeps happening. I try to do it back at them and then I go flying off the track. They just touch me and I go flying.. I try to hit them and I go flying off the track not even fazing them. What am I missing here?
I like it. Some people dont. After getting used to it, for me its a solid game on PC. Console version still needs a decent amount of help to get running up to par.
I wish they would fix the framerate on xbox. I bought the game day one, and played it for a few hours. I haven't played it since because the framerate is so bad.
windham151 ok thanks I liked this so hopefully we get another one cause I'm good but I just can't get scrubs down btw love the vids keep up the good work
Like the map of the track you are riding? Or the selection screen to choose what map you want to play? Hold select button down to access map for the track you are riding. Hit the pause button and move to the right to choose the option to select different track.
@@raphi_sm You have to clutch right before you make the turn and not use throttle and also actually go tight around the corner like Windham is doing here, it keeps you from losing speed.
This game´s mechanics are like a black box I´ve tried all the stick movements to preload (slow down-up, fast, slow then fast, fast then slow) but the amount of preload comes out like a dice roll... let´s no even mentio landings, same angle and speed and it's a coin toss, wither he goes just fine or crashes and makes me lose my hard earned positions
windham151 ok but when you get it tell me and then I'll tell you when I get a Mic so you can make a video with me😉Also add me...don't forget. P.s. I'm your biggest fan😁
