Nice video! I really like you stuff a lot and I’m recently into soapstone carving as well. But since I’m quite new to the topic, I don’t have any idea how to find the right stone - like the texture, hardness and color. Sometimes I get stones that are too soft and crack a lot. could maybe do a video about how you choose your stones and how to find stones that are good for (detailed) carvings?

I have gone through local suppliers who import soapstone mainly from Brazil. Some is softer, some harder. I am from Canada and go through giancarlostoneworks. He ships across North America.

Often pieces will have cracks that I just have to be mindful of or work around.
