I normally feel like people who make these videos are trying to show off, with Joe, I genuinely feel like he is showing us what he thinks and what is best (in his opinion). And I feel like I’m learning stuff.
Skye Burge even if they do show off, who cares? Good for them, they should be able to show off their hard work and the grind they done to develop their new look. But i get what you mean
Skye Burge Even the people who “show off” earned the right to do so...don’t be bitter and do better yourself and you’d be motivated or unbothered regardless of the circumstances everytime
Joe is, 100% right about exercise helping with mental health. So fair play to him for giveing up the medication and doing what made him happy. Your followers always have your back man xoxo.
Train sustainably as I pushed it too hard one day on a high and tore my bicep tendon and haven't been able to train anything upper body for months. I was doing an isostatic hold exercise I watched on Athlean X, I am sure it's good for recruiting muscle fibres but clearly not worth the injury risk. Sticking to tried and tested staples seems more sustainable and is how I will go about it when I finally get back to full training.
I was on antidepressants medication to. And it almost ruined my life. My father died of cancer, and I literally lost control over my life. i’m 1.72cm. I went from 70kg til 105kg Now I’m working out again. And i do whatever I can do to drop those kg. Now I have lost lost 22 kg, and I’m currently at 83 kg. My goal is 70 kg. :)
I feel him. I have to go through one of these transformations about every other year. This happens to be one of those years. Now I am 6 pounds down and only 24 more to go.
I used to be really fat and I was on the verge of developing serious health conditions. I remember not being able to tie my shoelaces and my sleep suffered as well. My life changed when I finally set my mind to the thinking that anything is possible if you decide so. I took a meal plan to start with. I created it online, on Dietarize, which was super helpful to me. I didn't have to worry about calories, macros, nutrients and all that stuff, I just focused on walking long distances and exercising after I got on a level where I could do some simple workouts. I hope my story will inspire you to do the same. To change your body you must first change your mind!
Great respect and great compliments. Yes, it is a mental head thing. And intelligence and discipline are also required. Sport is always dismissed as something stupid in society. But these people are the stupid ones, because they damage their health. You are a winner !!!!!
THEWalrus271 what he eats is irrelevant to what anyone else should be eating. Tonnes of dietary advice and rough meal plans can all be found from 2secs of searching up rather than him making a video.
THEWalrus271 You can eat literally anything. What you eat doesn’t determine if you lose weight or not. It’s How much you eat. I mean you could literally lose weight just By eating McDonald’s (Don’t obviously because it’s still unhealthy as fuck I was just making a point)
I used to think Joe was just a bit of a twat, but having actually taken the time to watch this video, it's clear he's just a normal guy doing what he can to be happy and is really genuine and honest and you can't help but respect that
Joe has been one of funniest people I've ever watched and is a massive inspiration in so many different ways through RU-vid fitness and getting through depression he is a idol
Joe, I recommend you should have a second account all about fitness. As this will motivate you to have a consistent body shape. P.S like for Joe to see
last year i was overweight watching this thinking that i was fine with it but in the back of my mind i always knew i was unhappy with the way i looked and after this watching this video it really did inspire me to get in shape and now coming back a year later i honestly am so much happier with my life so thank you
Not going to lie going to the gym help me mentally I don’t experience anxiety and stress as much I used to. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week plus swimming lesson.
If you want to diet/lose weight ask your parents to support you by cooking healthier and buying less snacks and soda. And if it’s possible always eating at home/preparing food for the day is also another great way to stop going to fast food restaurants and eating unhealthy.
Of course eating something delicious once in a while is ok and necessary to satisfy you and prevent you from longing for something too much. For example my friend ate one piece of chocolate or one cookie a day, that way he didn’t have the urge to eat something unhealthy a lot
This video is so encouraging Joe, thank you for being so honest about your depression. I don’t suffer thankfully, but you will have encouraged and helped so many people. A good video from you would be to talk about exactly what you eat every day, giving examples of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Talha Javed Similar thing happened to me except I damaged my leg so I couldn’t run it properly workout and I only put in like 8lbs and I got kicked off even though I was the top goalscorer that season
Anyone notice that after dedicating yourself to eating healthy foods they begin to taste much better, and junk food gets worse and worse? I just had a pop tart for the first time in six months and the shit tasted fake asf😂
Don't think so mate. Not everything he says is correct and I feel he would spread misinformation just from not being an expert of training and the science behind it.
@@jackm3672 Bro ur probably some scronny white kid, stop acting like u know more. You don't even have the body or experience to back it up. Seriously, it's kids like you that piss me off, acting like they know more yet they hide behind their computer screen. Joe clearly has accomplished a big milestone by going from fat - very skinny - ripped, he has more knowledge than u.

Im a depressed teen from last 4 years . hypertension, anxiety , communication disorder , violence. Mom don't even allow to meet my friends cause of conflicts Gyming is actually helping me feel good and alive .
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Psalm 119:50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Believe me your depression will leave you after your teenage years end. I used to also have severe depression 2 years later i feel good and never depressed.
Bro...I'm not kidding...in my home ,amongst my family...here i am sitting with frightening anxiety attacks...keeping quiet coz it's the first time...and it's coz of a health issue 😅....but every word you spoke bro....I felt connected soo much ! ....i really did....i feel so connected hehe...let's see 😊👊I'm subscribing for a real healthy reason...hope you stay in my head most of my life.....
That's because he still has all that muscle beneath the fat. Look at the before, all he needs to do is lose the fat and put a little more muscle on to get back into shape. Everyone needs to starts somewhere so don't put yourself down guys.
@@dilz2012 the other guy getting confused what Joe's talking about. Joe was comparing breaking his leg before and after as before he was in good shape but after he as he couldn't do much exercise he was looking worse
@Abel Joseph I am gonna. looking forward to edge v orton, bryan v zayn, mcintyre v lesnar, the triple threat tag match, fiend cena, and that's about it, but it'll be interesting for sure
Joe has honestly become such a genuine guy and inspiring legend. I've loved watching his journey from daft bugger to evolved human being. Full respect mate 👍
I'm just recovering from a shoulder dislocation (cycling crash) and I'm also going to the gym and this video made me continue because giving up is not a choice.
6:19 Just to clarify things for people... That is actually a pull-up. For a Chin-up, you need to turn your hands so your palms are facing you. Pull-ups will target more of the upper back and a Chin-up will target your biceps more.
I've heard that the one where your palms are facing away from you are a lot better for you and also spreading your hands as far away as efficiently possible. It is a lot easier to do shoulder width apart with you palms facing you lol but I would think those would be more for your biceps while palms away from you would do more upper back, sides, and forearms.
@@jacktrimboli2857 True. But I still think he should get some credit even though be made some mistakes because something he is doing clearly seems to be working by looking at his results, and that is more than I can say about a lot of people. The reason I chose to clarify that thing specifically is that it seems to be a pretty common misunderstanding. Better something than nothing I guess ;)
I started at 270lbs in 2017, made my way to 172lbs by the end of 2019, and didn't lose a pound up until March of this year. I then "took a break" and gained 25 pounds. Thankfully after 6 weeks of consistency I'm back down to 178lbs with the goal of reaching 165lbs (more specifically, 10% body fat). Your video just gave me so much confidence. Everything you said, I've addressed with my plan. I'm changing up my lifting, adding in more cardio, avoiding adaptation and eating clean. Now I'm just hoping I get to my goal this time. Thanks for the inspiration!
Weller is genuinely the most relatable and down to Earth RU-vidr that I know of. Everytime I'm down and struggling, he always posts something that helps. Cheers mate 👍🏻
Can confirm the benefits of drinking plenty of water. Do it for 2 months and it's literally a free attractiveness upgrade; the skin on your face just looks better.
Harvey Huynh why don’t you you fatty I’ve already been to the gym since this video and I ran this morning at 5:00 in the morning whereas you were probably halfway through the pringles and the full fat coke
I have huge respect for you. You’ve clearly had some ups and downs in your life, but most importantly you’ve conquered them. Clearly embracing everything that comes across you now. I feel really inspired and motivated after watching this, so thank you! I hope the same effect rubs onto everyone else watching this 💙

And are overrated mate, no point cutting Down to reveal abs first. That will hinder you in the long run as you won’t be able to put on muscle as easy if your at a low body fat percentage.
I just started to get myself into shape and fit, as I'm very unfit and very slim. This helped me a bit to gain the confidence I need, and without access to good equipment and the gym, it is proving difficult and making me think I won't achieve it but I'm going to stick to it and eat well too.
@@joee9050 I was around your weight with no muscle at all when I started and i dropped around 20 pound and then starting gaining it back in muscle. For diet i just tried to cut out sugar as much as i could and eat smaller portions (ex: if i have pizza i only have 1 slice instead of 4) And just don’t lose hope you got it man
Crazy transformation! If I managed to transform my body, everyone can do it. Diet is a crucial thing, without it exercise won't help at all. Many beginners struggle to find a proper diet because they want fast results and they end up with no results at all, less money in their pockets and health problems. I encourage you to do a research and find a diet that will work for you. If you still don't know where to start, try dietarize or diet doctor as your starting point (first one comes with workout plan which I find convenient as it doesn't require going to the gym at all). This way results are guaranteed. 💪💪💪

ive watched soooo many of these "transformation" videos, but not one has ever been so honest. You are a good person, not too cocky, like many of the vids, that are just like "i just lost 50 pounds and you didnt hahahaha", but still honest about being proud of your achievement. You have inspired me to get back into the gym and start working on my body. Thank you so much!!
3:04 I really relate to this. I was taking so many drugs for depression and anxiety I eventually ended up a helpless drug addict. I was finally able to quit, it was about 1 month of major hell and another month of mild hell but I pushed through it and have tried to exercised everyday and diet well. Personal hygiene and just keeping up with your self in general really does a world's difference. I have been just doing a few reps of biceps, triceps, a combo of the two, push ups, crunches, and stretching. All in a small rectangle space in my room. But this video has motivated me to still to that, but at least go to the gym 3 times a week and do muscle groups and focus on specific things. I know adding pull ups alone would make a big difference. Also, I think 1 cheat day a week is really good. It allows you to eat really healthy the rest of the week rather than just ending up cheating every night once it gets late lol. Awesome video man
The science behind the anti depression thing is because exercise release (i think it’s called) endorphins and endo cannabinoids, which relax the brain and makes you happy!! EDIT: Thanks for all the likes 🙂🙃
I’d say you’ve motivated me to start. I’d say I’m one of those people who are self conscious about there body, but aren’t motivated to make it happen. I’d like to think, no I want to think that this video has made me think twice about why I should make a push to better myself. Thank you Joe.
Harry Bull all you need to do is be in a calorie surplus of about 400/500 calories and increase carbohydrate macros. Try reduce the amount of HIIT training you do and when working out constantly increase the max weight you can
Ismaeel Razavi lol no mate 400 calorie surplus roughly. You’re not going to get bigger without putting on fat along with muscle. You bulk up and then go into a calorie deficit to shred it off. When you achieve a reasonable physique you’re happy with then you just stick to your maintenance caloric allowance. 100 calorie surplus will make virtually no results
