Happy Sunday everyone ☘️💚Early video today due to the clocks going back in Ireland! It’s cosy vibes all the way here! Thanks for watching and have a magical week. 🌟🌈💕
Happy Sunday from Canada 🇨🇦 Thank you once again for a lovely video. Today is so chilly and most definitely a get-down-and-cozy kind of day. Please, you mentioned using castor oil in your lamp. I would love to know your take on this. I’ve never heard tell of using this oil in a lamp. Very intrigued! Thank you for a sweet video to watch as I enjoy my warm cuppa tea. Have a lovely and cozy day🧡
I’ve started making my own candles using left over wax as well as soya wax I bought (also have a pillar candle mould on the way). I have an Egloo terracotta heater I like to use and the powdered wax or tea lights are great for that. I don’t use beeswax as I’m vegan so prefer other non-petroleum based waxes from plants where neither planet nor creature is exploited. I too like a warm big throw to snuggle under. I’ve started doing The Miracle Morning again, to get up early and set aside an hour for personal development this includes mantra medication (Deva Premel) as well as reading, affirmations, a 30 day photographing challenge and of course candlelight, proper hygge mornings. I’m really into Autumn 🍂 tidying opposed to Spring cleaning. I call it getting winter ready, so I can semi hibernate 😆 Same with the gardens and habitats for wildlife (I get a nightly visit from hedgehogs which I capture on my trail cam, see my garden video for a peek) In my neck of the woods in England we call them joggers not tracksuit bottoms. I practically live in them since March/lockdown.
@@veritysmart wow! Loved reading everything... you have a night cam. So cool. I’d love one to catch the deer and rabbits! Happy semi hibernating! ☺️🍂🍵☘️
@@FairylandCottage we are heading for Summer , but it is oh so lovely to watch Your videos and popping tips away in my filing cabinet (mind) for later ...and I adore snuggling up with a blanket , especially good for an afternoon nap or watching a lovely movie
There is nothing homelier and more comforting in my opinion than the smell of something baking in the oven. In fact, some of my most cherished childhood memories are from playing with my sister in my room and suddenly recognising the beloved smell of my mother making pancakes in the kitchen. It was like a big warm hug. Thank you for this video, it is so tranquil and lovely.
Hi dear Niamh from Germany 🙋♀️. I know, what it mean when you tell from your grandma and the smelling cake. My grandmothercwas a conectioner with her own cafe and every cake and cooke were homemade. In her baking room and in her cafe there was a lovely smelling. I remember on a special cheese cake of her. My ways to feel cosy are: 1) Baking cookies 2) Having my cat on my knees and look how she sleeps 3) Knitting something 4) Have some tea AND WATCH FAIRYLAND COTTAGE AGAIN AND AGAIN❤ 5) Take a walk in the rain 6) Writing one old fashion letter to a friend 7) Looking to my books on the shelf and read one of them again 8) Hearing to calming piano music on youtube and do nothing. Only enjoy the music. 9) Writing in my gratitude journal 10) Do some meditation in cosy clothes. I send you my best wishes, please stay healthy and be blessed! Big hug from Sabrina from Germany ❤
My mom would always be baking and cooking. She loved lived to feed people. Matter of fact, during high school my best friends would enjoy coming over and eat. No matter what time of the day she always had food for all. Not that we were rich; by far we were not. And let me tell you what a great, great mom she was.💗
Am sitting here in a soft robe with soft clothes and wooly socks watching the rain through the window. Nice cup of chai latte tea, warm blanket on my lap. A good book to read. Some candles lit and the lights turned down a bit. Oh, and yes the little portable faux fireplace is on. Wonderful, just wonderful.
On cosy days I enjoy sitting with my crochet or knitting while listening to music and watching videos; also reading with my beautiful golden retriever beside me. It is springtime here in Australia, my favourite season. Our vegetable garden is flourishing with strawberries, tomatoes, and sweetcorn well established. Our passionfruit vine is loaded with green passionfruit and covered in flowers, keeping the bees busy. Nectarines, plums, peaches, and cherries will be ready to pick in December/January, and I am keeping my fingers crossed on my flowering 6 mth old blueberry bush. We have a family of magpies living in the trees next door to us and I love watching mum teach her fledglings how to fly. They are nearly as big as her and she is still feeding them as they hop along the ground chortling their beautiful sounds. Niamh I have so enjoyed this gentle and beautiful video like all your others, and they have taught me so much. Yesterday I made your banana bread for the second time. So delicious! I hope you are staying well and distanced from the worrying new surge of Covid19 in Ireland. Sadly this appears to be our new normal throughout the world and my hope it that it brings us all closer together in a caring humanitarian way. Loving greetings from South Australia. 🌿
Cozy evenings in autumn is something to die for 😍🍁 I love having a cup of lavender tea from our own harvest while I'm watching the stormy weather 🧡 thank you for sharing such a beautiful, heartwarming video
lavender tea from your own harvest sounds so delightful, Alina! :) Enjoy the stormy weather in beautiful Bavaria and all the cozy hygge vibes it brings
Happy Sunday, Niamh :) Love these cozy vibes in your film. The leaves here in France have been vibrant and so colorful! The swirling fog on the mountaintops has made me want to cozy on in with a cup of hot cocoa, a Victorian romance novel and a purring kitty
@@FairylandCottage So magical :) When we first moved here, I felt a bit trapped and claustrophobic by them lol but now they are actually quite comforting to me! When I go to the flatter parts of the island or the beach and come home to the mountains at the end of the day, It feels more like home :) Mountains energetically feel so powerful, safe, and comforting.
I'm a craftsman, so I take ecstatic joy in moving my hands to create art. My favorite cozy time is sitting with an enormous mug of milk tea, and chiseling or carving away at some woodwork. Either literally burning the midnight oil and listening to creepy stories or watching gritty anime series. Super cozy and productive! Thank you for sharing your slice of life! Very interesting and quite cozy indeed!
I've resumed Crossstitch, I absolutely love it and almost fall into a meditative state while doing it, it's a lovely, fairly inexpensive craft to do (I download free patterns online) My late Grandmother did the most beautiful embroidery, she was a very talented needle woman. Sounds rather like your Grandmother in fact, she kept an immaculate home, the tins were always full, and the garden brimming with food and flowers. We'd always come home laden down with fresh lemons from the tree, fresh veggies (always silverbeet) and her prized dahlias. I now also garden, and bake. Very happy to keep those traditions alive 😊
I love listening to Christmas music to help relax myself with candles, a cozy blanket and twinkling lights. Those are just a few of my favorite things. PS. I give myself permission to listen to Christmas music all thru out the year! 🙊🎄
Also, I enjoy canning stocks & soups during the cold weather. I always feed birds and it is relaxing watching various birds eat suet & seeds & watching the squirrels eat field corn. I have many wind chimes wood, metal, glass. It is a pleasure to listen to them during windy days or storms. It's nice to have different colors of crystals hanging in a sunny window or a suncatcher to watch as light bends through them.
im watching from Australia. Have to Say you hve a very soothing voice suited to ASMR. I love the simplicity you convey. Very relaxing to watch this channel. much appreciated! Have a magical week yourself
I always look forward to your Sunday morning relaxing videos. A great way to start the day. I also watch movies on my computer instead of the TV and sometimes have a nice glass of wine with fairy lights in a glass vase and candles lit for lighting and of course a blanket.
I sent this video to several people. I'm having a cozy weekend after a rough work week. I love my job, but I needed to revive myself. This video is perfect. My cozy project is mending. I love it! Today I'm sewing a lap blanket for my car. And no, I'm not a seamstress. I have no sewing talents. But my mother does and she loves to give me pointers. So lovely to pull her into my cozy projects. Thank you for your video!!
Wow!! watching this video and other videos from fairyland cottage, cinnamon latte and fairy lights on 🌟 🌟perfect example of cosy day!! And fairyland cottage is not just the YT channel it is the feeling for many.
Cozy is a warm drink and my old pull-on sweater. I love sitting cross-legged watching a movie or reading with my cat snuggled next me. And if there's a stew on the stove cooking, well, that's perfection. ... Thanks for the castor oil tip. I'll be trying that one!
One of my favourite things that make me feel cosy is A WOOLEN BLANKET FROM IRELAND! I purchased one in Germany some years ago and it´s not only first quality wool but it has the most beautiful colours, too! Looking at them is one of the ways of warming up from the inside out. From Germany with love!
@@FairylandCottage Hence you certainly promote tourism to your magic country the board/minstry of tourism or whoever is in charge should present you one as a GIFT!!
Lovely, cozy video...and I'm right there with you with a fire, blanket, candles, hot tea, and a yummy baked treat and a book. We've been stocking our freezer with yummy soups for the winter! Oil lamps are special to my childhood...I have inherited one of my Grandpa's oil lanterns he would take to the barn and hang on a hook in the evenings. It would make the barn feel inviting and enchanting. My Grandma also collected miniature oil lamps. We would fill the lamps and place them down the center of the dining room table surrounded by ivy, evergreens, pinecones and some mini glass tree ornaments for our Christmas Eve dinner. Lovely time of laughter as we dined in the peaceful glow. These oil lamps revive cozy, loving, family memories that I cherish since my Grandparents are no longer around our table. Hope your oil lamp brings peace, comfort, and many cozy family moments for you. Have a snuggly, cozy, simply wonderful day! 😊
One of my most cherished memories is my grandmother boiling down sap in the spring on her very old wood fire stove, I couldn't wait to taste the fresh syrup this would produce! Cosy days are the best.
I love been wrapped up with a blanket an the heating on with a cuppa an a movie on. An of course by my side have to have popcorn. That's my cosy nights l love in winter. I cherish them the most an peace an quiet is so soothing too. Enjoy your week Niamh hope its how you want it to be. God bless. 😇🙏❤️
Hello! Thank you so much for one more cosy video. I smiled during 8.30 minutes. You can believe me, your videos make me feel cosy. Comfortable clothes, blanket, slippers, soups, toast, chocolate, coffe ... are things that make me feel cosy. Once again, Thank YOU so much! Until sunday, have a wonderful week!
Currently recovering from a staph infection that went septic and still feel terribly ill and no energy, this video made me feel so relaxed and happy❤️Thank you for your wonderful content 💕💕
Things that make me cozy✨ •I love my crackle wick candles since we don’t have a fireplace. Very relaxing to listen to at night or in the bath with all the lights off • Wrapping up in my warm bed with lots of cool pillows. • putting the electronic down and sitting outside with a cup of coffee and soaking up some fresh air, rain or shine. • Gentle stretching makes me feel so relaxed afterwards. Great for the body too • Diffusing peppermint • I find I’m most cozy when I’m by myself. Where I feel no judgement, just silence to process things with clarity. • Making sure my place is really clean gives me cozy vibes • Deep breathing with my eyes closed • When it snows I feel so cozy sitting inside where it’s warm. The white snow is gorgeous to look at sitting with a soft warm blanket on the couch. Here in Tennessee (where I live) we don’t get much snow. Every time I see snow it brings me back to the excitement of snow from my childhood. • Soft piano instrumentals is also my new thing (Disney peaceful piano on Apple Music is 👌🏻) • lastly prayer/meditation time is my most comforting routine. Where I feel most connected with God and at peace with His intricate plan for me. Feelings of renewal🤍 Thanks for reading!
Thanks Niamh, for another beautiful, calming video. From Saturday I was feeling restless as I wanted Sunday to come so that I can watch ur new video. Around 11am I had checked to see if you have posted any video but later I got busy as quite a few of my Amazon deliveries had come on Sunday and as you know, they need to be disinfected first, but with a four year old at home it is so difficult. At last now I was free to relax and watch ur video which is so destressing. I too love to have hot tea or coffee and watch a nice movie. Ur lanterns reminded me of my granny who always lighted them when there was a power cut. Nowadays u don't see such lanterns at homes. Thanks for helping me relive those nostalgic moments of my childhood.
I loved this video. It was so beautiful. Cozy for me is blankets, soft warm clothing, books ,and a hot beverage. I have enjoyed your audio and ebook so much! It was the highlight of my week, didn't want it to end. Thank you so much!
I love wearing my pjamas as long as possible, drinking plenty of warm drinks and having a nice warm blanket and my dresssing gown for extra warmth, Soup is the best though :) :)
You really know how to do cosy! A lovely video. My Granny was a great cook too. She was well known for having a batch of scones in the oven within 5 minutes of welcoming unexpected guests at the door!
Soft Celtic music ( likeTitanic movie music). I miss visiting heavenly Ireland so much, and all things Irish. So your videos give me a wee bit of lovey Ireland, every week. So would love more soft Celtic video music for background (instead of jazz), and more views of Irish treasures...the lush green in nature. And little Irish home treasures like Irish pewter, Irish linen, Irish crystal . And real Irish meals, like potatoes, scones, tea, or Irish oatmeal. And Irish clothing. (Your special green/blue party dress is just beautiful!). We cannot travel now, so anything really Irish you can show us is like a soothing balm that relaxes us. You are lucky, you live in heaven on earth.
Thank you for your videos. They are very relaxing & informative. I love the cozy & relaxing videos as well as learning tips for low waste living. Some cozy ideas that we do (states) are putting on comfy clothes like “sweats”, pajamas or yoga pants, cooking something hearty & warm for lunch or dinner, relaxing with a good book, watching a movie, writing to far-away family or friends, enjoying a cup of tea or hot chocolate, lighting some candles, listening to some peaceful music. Thanks again for your videos!💖
Only you, dear Niamh, could make cleaning silver a cozy activity! I love it. Oh, and I had to listen 3 times to hear 'tracksuit bottoms'. I thought you were saying tracksy bottoms! I am watching this while drinking a freezing cold smoothie, looking around for my slippers and blanket to help me warm up. For me, my favorite cozy is a hot bath with epsom salts, and candles around the bath. I also love a mug of hot tea, and some fragrant and warming soups or stews and pumpkin or other spicy baked goods.
My idea of cozy is very much like yours. A warm beverage, I'm thinking ginger tea today, sweatpants and sweater, a soft blanket, music and a good book. When I can get some nice firewood, a fire in my fireplace. It is hypnotic and attracting to watch the fire burn. I also enjoy conversations in person or on the phone with my special friends and family. A warm pet is a bonus too.
Thanks for the cozies! Sadly lived to far away from all my grandparents, my Mom is not that kind of Granny, all the rest are gone decades ago. But I purpose to be a hands on Granny in whatever way bonds me to my two grandbabies. Hard to believe they are 12 and 10...and all the grandchildren I will ever get. We make wonderful, cozy fun filled memories every chance we get. Oh and where I live, though probably not pc, we call them "fat pants". And one can never have too many blankets, I have one in every room of my home. Mmmmm...thanks again for sharing your home. 🤗
The ultimate cozy is a cat on your lap, purring while you pet the silky velvet of his fur. My aunt and grandmother were wonderful bakers and it was the same - you never visited without being made to sample what they had baked. I was lucky enough that my aunt passed down a few of her recipes.
This is a lovely video! I never had a Grandmother when I was a little girl. When I became a Grandmother I always cooked and baked when my Grandson would come over. He spent a lot of time with me when he was a young boy. We made cookies, had hot chocolate, and snuggled up in a blanket with my dogs and watched movies. I miss those days as my Grandson is now 21 and lives in another state.
Really cozy! 💕 I collect my firewood from the garage when I come home from work, first thing I do is to start that fire. Then I light candles too, I have a scented candle I got from a friend. Makes the house smell so nice. But absolutely blanked on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon.
Today at our house it was cold and rainy and we needed a good dose of cozy, I made a loaf of bread and homemade soup for lunch. We enjoyed a fire in our living room, a little reading and catching up on my favorite U tube vlogs. This evening I made a batch of peanut butter cookies. Yikes! We’ll have to double up on our walking tomorrow when the sun is promised to shine. I enjoy your videos very much💛
Hello Naimh, love to drink warming spicy tea with zero waste ingredients / things from garden, burn a few natural organic candles from Daylesford, Bamford or St Eval, try to limit heat to our dining and living room while working down there and get nice and cosy while using less heat , vv fluffy socks, long baths, adding warming spices to cooking, and add to skincare and oil burner for all round warming feeling, brisk walk outside to warm up too, some times at Christmas I get the honour of lighting my inlaws lovely natural fire place , I grew up with real fireplace and it’s amazing nothing compares :). Thanks to your inspiration have started listening to more jazz on Sundays - cozy on the ears. Our family in California miss the cozy feeling in autumn as is still hot over there most of the time. We try to eat more raw plant based options of cozy recipes to keep nutrients high too. I was raised on my grandmothers cooking amazing all Mary Berry food fit for the Queen ingredients grown in garden by my grandfather who was retired from farming, my friend saves soo much by living in a blanket in winter in living room and no heating
beautiful tips. as evening approaches I use softer lighting.... shut off strong ceiling lighting and turn on soft lamps and string lights (like Christmas white lights on a string). I also have neighbors that draw the blinds as evening approaches. we love the nature so the blinds are always up. but I know it is a cosy feeling to drawn blinds too. a warm bath is all cosy. natural body oils and some natural essential oils after bath are also lovely. and sometimes can't do a bath, so just putting on a facial and kick back and feel a soft relaxing vibe for that time. or little foot bath to warm up in winter is also super cozy. favorite cozy activities too are doing some therapeutic coloring with music. sometimes sitting in the dark, in summer with the window open and just enjoying the removal of all stimulating screens, and enjoying the sounds of nature can be cosy and nurturing. thanks for asking it's so great to tune into cosy feelings.
I feel cozy just from watching your video about how to cultivate a cozy vibe! Your home and your lifestyle and your voice ooze cozy! I love everything you share with us. Thank you! 🍀
Your story about your grandma reminds me of mine, who used to always have an angel food cake baked and frosted with her specialty frosting waiting for us to arrive. We always arrived late on a Friday night to spend the weekend and there was always something so wonderful about being a child and getting to be up late and eating dessert before going to bed.
I love wrapping myself in a warm Cozy blanket, warm woolen socks, soft music playing ever so quietly and by sweet little Yorkie curled up beside me. Well then there’s a nice cup of tea and the smell of hot soup and fresh baked bread. Ahhh...
After seeing your fairy lights in another of your videos, I started using my tiny snowflake led Christmas lights inside clear and coloured glass vases & bottles to add a warm glow to our home. It really has softened the ambiance. Before I go to bed I switch off all other light, and take in the softness glowing around me. It is one way I get to relax.
Crocheting is my calming in the evening... This is what women did back in the olden days by candle light and lamp setting near fireplace with soft coverlet over the lap in their rockers. Isn't it wonderful how we today are edging backwards letting in the old and taking out the new. It is most comforting and satisfies the soul.. Blessings in your day! An old saying becoming very popular..
Watching this video while o had lightened a candle, drinking my hot coffee and writing in my bullet journal. This video was just GREAT at this time. Thank you!
Lovely video! A tip to take your banana bread to another level: use over ripe bananas! The more brown, the better. It makes your bread sweeter and just overall more tasty!
I love reading and journaling or listening to soft smooth jazz and listen to podcasts while lying in bed or bathing or cleaning the house to relax to!!
I live in Texas, we have handmade afghans in every room. It's Oct. 29, 2020, cold and and a bit windy today. We have had a gentle, cozy fire in the fireplace all day. I love your home, thx for sharing. ❤
I like to wake up early, while its still dark... Make coffee, light candles (no electric lights), fluffy warm sweater and socks and either watch relaxing videos like yours or soft jazz... My favorite fall/winter morning.
We had our first snow here in our little town in Montana. I should have gone out and shoveled my walk and the sidewalk but my back won’t allow it. Somebody did the sidewalk and the mailman managed to get through so all is well. I let the dog out early (4:00am) and we startled several deer(I live in town!) I laughed and she froze in place! Just love living here. I love oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast. Have been making French onion soup a lot lately with lots of garlic as it’s flu season and I caught a cold. 9 days of misery. Haven’t had one of those in ages! Also I’ve been sewing for weeks now making drawstring bags to put in shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. I made 70 so far. Set up my machine and cutting mat in the dining room in front of the big windows that look out on a huge mountain ash tree and the side yard. Right now the birds are so busy in that tree I get quite distracted from my work. And then we(Sophie the dog and Lily the cat) sit and read(well they nap). That’s my cozy story. Nice to talk with you Niamh💕
These lamps bring back so many childhood memories for me. In our home we used it because there was lack of power supply. But now it feels like a luxury and cosy item to have in home. Such a beautiful comforting ritual...
I grew up in San Francisco and my parents are both from Ireland. The smell of Irish soda bread after school was my favorite. I now make own and it brings back memories of my childhood. I love your videos ❣️🇮🇪🇺🇸
Ahhhhh ... Loved this! It is already winter here in western Canada so needed these tips! I do all of them except the silver polishing LOL. Also love reading and doing crafts.
Francine H. Your comment made me look at what the temp is ... It is -21! OMG! I just pulled the covers back over my head!!! Supposed to warm up this week.
I think taking my time with anything is a luxury. With all the social media, sitting with no electronics and doing some old fashioned thinking, daydreaming, remembrance, I have started doing that since the Cvd. How good it feels. And the slowing down. Who would have thought how much that is needed to "recharge" your energy. :)
A blanket is a must on chilly and rainy days. Mine is a soft pumpkin colored wool reminiscent of pumpkin pie filling. Some cedar incense and a good book. Perfect!
I grew up in California in the mellow comfort of the late seventies. My young mom would sit on the couch surrounded by potted plants, some hanging in soothing macrame. My sis and I would hop on the couch or sit on our very seventies shag carpet for what became our family phrase, "crunchy bunch". This was our word for a mix of cozy and binge-y. We would watch old movies or UK costume dramas and eat chips and homemade guacamole or other snacks and treats. I think that is why we call this cozy time "crunchy bunch". The tradition lives on now that we are nearly fifty and our mom in her early seventies! I send her videos like this for her own "crunchy bunch" time even while she lives in New Mexico and we are in California.
