About the pillow cases i have something extra to say: (I wash my face twice a day) I change the position of pillow every night so its almost as if i changed it every night and i highly recommend doing that! after the first night with said pillow case i turn in 180 degrees with the side in contact with the bed is still the same side, so you're spinning it. the night after that i flip it over so the side that was facing the bed the past two nights is now "the face side", and the night after that i spin it again. It might sound strange but i actually change my pillow case exactly once a week and i can verify it makes a difference! And I literally touched my face when you said "don't touch you're face" haha

Thank you so much my acne was out of control and right as I was giving up I found Matthias and found you. I have been doing these things well 9 out of ten and here are a few things I added on: - every morning and night take a rough-ish washcloth and scrub your face until you feel really clean, I do that o pop any pimples that may be growing and wash them out. - Every other day I use this cleansing kit. Pretty much the tool Amanda showed, I use that and if you have non oily lotion, put that on everyday. If you put on too much wait for a second and gently wipe it off in a towel. - It was really hard for me to stand my acne so I always had bangs to cover it up. If you have acne you have to use headbands! The oil from your hair, the germs that are in your hair get onto your face when you have bangs, pulling the back makes your skin not as oily at the end of the day. - Don't look in the mirror and think your ugly because you have acne. Your beautiful

A leave-in conditioner is good, regular trips to the hair dresser. Don't straighten or vigorously towel dry your hair, use a t shirt instead.
@later_taters

Towel is tougher and damages your hair. A t shirt is softer and won't damage your hair as much, a beauty you tuber recommended it

I'm pretty sure, most teenage girls go through acne and breakouts of the skin, so they are with you and I am with you. For part two could you go through a bunch of products that you either suggest or use because my Mum won't buy any unless they are like face scrubs. So yeah. Thanks, Chloe PS: Pimples friking suck! I'm going through the stage of pimples and more pimples... ugh. LOL

Argan rain %100 Pure Argan Oil works very well. Easy to apply. Absorbs easily and doesn't leave your skin feeling oily or sticky. After a couple of days of use I think my pores are actually smaller. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and have no issues recommending it to others.

Yes please do a part 2! I suffer from acne all the time! What I have found that works the best for a cleanser is MK Acne set it gives you a clarifying cleansing gel, blemish control toner, acne treatment gel, and oil-free moisturizer for acne prone skin. This set has been the greatest thing I have ever used and the only times I have extreme breakouts is when I don't use it... lol

I agree with everything! Especially number 7!!! What has helped me most most MOST is going low fat vegan. Before that I had tried so many different acne products and medications and still nothing helped me. Once I changed my diet to whole plant foods and very low fat, my acne has completely gone away, and I mean completely. I do get one or two pimples once in a while but they're like nothing. I break out a little more when I eat slightly more fat, so I just try to avoid that. A lot of people are skeptical but trust me, it works wonders! Adding more fruits and veggies helps a lot, but making them the whole of your diet is like magic. Highly recommend anyone with skin problems tries it, there's nothing to lose!
@ItsAmandaFaye
@ItsAmandaFaye 9 лет назад
Noemi Tirado same here! i just recently changed my diet completely and have seen the BEST improvement ever out of everything i've ever done! i don't eat any grains (corn, gluten, beans), sugar, chemicals, processed foods, dairy, etc. I still need to up my veggie intake cause i've been lacking with that, but it's been amazing! yay for both of us!

I guess that's why I've only gotten like 2 pimples... I drink about 5-6 bottles of water a day. I was in band in middle school and some of high school so I really needed water then because I used spit and reeds sucked up more moisture from my mouth, so now it's just natural for me to drink that much now. Also probably because I have chapped lips (had chapped lips since I was really little) and drinking water helps my lips be less chapped.

Thanks for the great tips. my mother in law just took classes to become an aesthetician & something that she learned in her classes is that people with rosacea (like me) should not use hot water to clean their face. I've switched to washing my face with tepid water outside of the shower and have seen great improvement.

I use apple cider vinegar for acne. I use Bragg's natural, organic unfiltered ACV diluted with water and I add some aloe vera gel and witch hazel. I mix it all together to use as a toner. One batch lasts about a week. I use it twice daily. As your skin gets used to the ACV you can add more to your mixture. But never add too much cause it's so acidic it can damage skin. Always dilute ACV. :)

another tip: If you have been experiencing years of stubborn acne, and you have a healthy lifestyle and are doing all the things amanda has mentioned, PLEASE see a dermatologist. Lots of the time they can suggest you soaps and cleansers you have not tried. And if that doesnt work, they can give you medication. For me, after 3 years of acne, medication is the only thing that has worked.
@ItsAmandaFaye
@ItsAmandaFaye 9 лет назад
Serena Shukla that's definitely true. i don't want to be on medication for it as i already have health issues that could be exacerbated by medications but have found that cutting out lots of different foods has actually helped me out quite a lot! This is really helpful! I enjoyed this quite a bit. I suffer from acne quite a bit and I don't wash my face as often as I should. I feel like more natural products would work for skin since I have naturally oily skin and that causes me to break out quite a bit. I haven't found a product that makes me feel super confident it works. Right now I'm using Velocity by Mary-Kay and when I get don't washing my face and while it does feel clean, I start to think about what you said about products that have no perfumes or dyes or things that are harmful to the skin. These tips are really great and I can't wait to see more! =D

Amanda I an teen and I am so tired of acne. I would love to see a part two. I hate it so much. A tip I use is to NOT USE MAZE UP AT ALL. I tell my friends this all the time. They get so tired of me saying it. But hey if you don't have all the make up absorbing in your skin you won't break out as much. Trust me Amanda you are not alone with this. When I first got acne I was scared what was going to happen but I coped with it and I may not have the Beautiful fresh skin that I want. But I'm working on it.

I lucked out and rarely get any pimples anymore after I started take aloe from a live plant I had and putting it on any pimples or dark spots. It's all natural and low cost. It's got something in it that makes the pimple go away a lot faster. I have sensitive skin so I have to watch what I use. And with piercings it's clear so no gunk on the jewelry. Also if you eat something that you know you're allergic to it can cause break outs as well. And it'd be nice to see what other tips you have

Hannah B that's awesome to hear that the aloe worked so well! i might have to get myself an aloe plant now!

Great video! Entertaining and interesting!!! My technique is really quite lazy, because I don't want to spend time (and money) searching for the right products, i just go to a dermatologist. They know what to get for your skin and know so many little tips and tricks. Plus the products they give you are more clinical and will be more effective for your skin. So my tip: talk to the professionals, they know what's up.

I have really awkward skin (as in one day it'll be dry as all hell and the next it'll be stupidly oily) so I've started using the body shop seaweed purifying facial cleanser and toner. I also try and exfoliate my skin a few times a week. Although I'm seriously lacking on the moisturiser. These tips are so simple but definitely super affective! Thanks for a great video again :). X

Leanne Parker I love the body shop! i'm beginning to explore more within their product range and do love their tea tree oil moisturizer. I use that for the day time. I think i'm gonna try out that facial cleanser you mentioned! mine is combination as well and it will be great literally no problems one day the next its overly oily or dry and patchy :/

I agree with everything! These things really do help. I use Cliniques spot corrector and it works like a charm. Any acne the you see just tab a bit on it before you sleep and it should be much muuuuch smaller by morning. Its kind of pricy but it lasts me around a year which is awesome.

I dot my pimples with tee tree oil chap stick and sleep with it on, and it works wonders. I don't have severe acne, but it's enough to wanna fix.

Oh but I can't stop touching my face because other people like my mom pinch my cheeks and I rub my face for blood circulation and it just won't work. I hope you will be doing a summer haul or look book sometime soon or even a makeup tutorial. This was a really great video. Keep up the good work Amanda!

Helpful: cover the pillow with a clean towel to sleep on - for those who are lazy to wash their pillow cases or does not have the time or who are forgetful (I am one of those)

+Amanda Faye So far, I haven't had any acne, but probably two small pimples on my chin and cheeks. I do have very sensitive skin, I can't use Loreal, Rimmel, or any cheap foundation. I have to go to Sephora, which is better, but also more expensive! I usually just wash my face every morning and night with an "African soap" that I found at target. One bar of soap for 5 dollars! But it's totally worth it! Great vid! :) (Sorry this is so long!)
@ItsAmandaFaye
@ItsAmandaFaye 9 лет назад
Irsah Khan that's great that your skin isn't acne prone! i would suggest maybe for foundation you use a tinted moisturizer or mineral based build-able power. It might be a little more sensitive on your skin :)

Amanda Faye Thats funny because I was at Sephora the other day and thats EXACTLY what they prescribed to me! I got a Bare Minerals foundation and Nars tinted moisturizer. I don't use it all the time, but it definitely works! Thanks ;)

Such awesome tips, Amanda! I'd like to see a part 2 :D Now that I'm actually making an effort to take better care of my skin, this helps me SO much. Although I will say that I've gone through so many different products trying to find out what works for me. Recently, I did discover how my diet affects my acne, and I'm trying to be better in that sense. My skin care is still very much a work in progress, but this definitely helped me get a better idea on how to head in the right direction :) One brand that's definitely helped me before is CeraVe. Their products aren't in the cheaper range, unfortunately, though I can say that their products are worth it! I've used their foaming facial cleanser and renewing SA (salicylic acid) cleanser and they're both awesome! They're gentle on the skin, and leave your face feeling soft and CLEAN! And totally not being biased, but I used to work at a place that manufactured this brand, and I know they do a great job making/packaging it.

love your personality, these tips, and your shirt! I've found that my skin really responds well to more natural products ( jasön, Alba botanica) , and this awesome glycolic peel by Garnier! I've tried basically every single benzoyl peroxide / salicylic acid face wash, and no luck! Also, check out the Aztec Indian Healing Clay Bentonite mask ($6 at health food stores) ! good luck and Ta ta!

For my moisturizer I use a mix of jojoba oil, rose hip oil, and a few drops of tea tree oil and use just a little bit each morning and night. No chemicals and my face is much clearer and less oily than it was using regular moisturizers, and best of all, no chemicals or creepy ingredients

Danielle Hall what is angels on bare skin? i'm so totally new to lush and don't know a lot of their products! the self-preserving ocean salt actually works better on my skin and I LOVE the smell of it! it's so sweet and smells like grapefruit! yum!

Amanda Faye It's a much gentler cleanser with kaolin, lavender, and almond that I use every day, since Ocean Salt tends to be too rough to use daily (once or twice a week). www.lushusa.com/Angels-on-Bare-Skin/9999906953,en_US,pd.html It's wooooonderful!! I'm a Lushie.

This is definitely a wonderful tips and tricks video! I know that something I try to do is keep my hair, particularly when it is dirty, off of my face. I used to have bangs and when they were dirtier, as in I hadn't washed them in 2+ days, my forehead was more prone to breakouts. I'm growing them out now though, so that isn't as much of a problem, lol! On a slightly different note, Amanda, where did you get your shirt? I have noticed it in some of your vlogs as well and I think I'm in love!
@ItsAmandaFaye
@ItsAmandaFaye 9 лет назад
Libby Durr great tip about keeping your hair pulled back! that used to happen to me when I had bangs and they were just a bother! i got my shirt at target! they had a few different patterns with this same cut and I'm just in love! i might have to go back and get another one!

Yes, bangs can be a bother, I tried them out and they just weren't for me! And I may have to make a trip to target now and see if mine has any!
