Finally, someone else who puts the effort into making their swinging as fluent, seemless, and cinematic as possible. All those other "pro swinging" videos suck shit. I cant stand watching bland, tasteless, and sloppy gameplay when it comes to swinging. This! Is cinema!
This looks like those exact ones though. Not saying his swinging is bad but let be honest, most the swinging videos be good except from popular gamer RU-vidrs, they always suck ass at this game because they constantly move on to the next once the storyline is over.

When watching this video, you can see Spider-Man's animations and transitions are seamless. It's never interrupted mid-animation. There's also clear intention in the movement rather than going with the flow. If that makes sense. Only critique is lack of camera and slo-mo integration. He also had a great opportunity to go through the water tower. Wouldve looked better for an ending shot.

Good to see someone disproving everyone who keeps saying playing without swing assist is too janky or poorly designed. Every time you get ready to crap on the physics engine and all of the ways it apparently doesn't work, remember this 12 year old. Stop complaining and deal with your skill issue.
I always try to do it whenever I have the option but usually the buildings don't have enough runway on them by the time I start wallrunning. Very situational, you kind of need to think about wallrunning before you actually do it since there's a very good chance there's a building in front of you that can kill your momentum
Here's a setting for ya: Realistic building maintenance. The most unrealistic part about Spider-Man swinging on webs is that it relies on the presumption that every single building owner in the city is 100% up to code on building maintenance. In NYC, the reason so many buildings have scaffolding around them 24/7 365 days a year is because they AREN'T maintained. Pieces of the facade fall off all the time, and the scaffolding is there to catch them and prevent a lawsuit from the pedestrians it hits. They'd rather just erect scaffolding than fix the buildings. Spider-Man would get maybe 2-3 swings, then suddenly whatever he latched onto just rips off the wall and he blasts into a lamp post balls-first.
The same problem actually made a lot less sense in Assassins Creed though. I mean, Spiderman can surely adjust on the fly when something doesn't holds as well as its supposed to. Ezio would have just died if an unfortunate edge he jumped at would suddenly decide to retire.
This is awesome. I really love how good the younger generation can be at games. They're not just good, they make a point of demonstrating finesse. I remember playing GTA IV and doing donuts while also spinning the camera in the opposite direction and then exiting in exactly the direction I want to go. My parents said it made them dizzy but I just thought it looked and felt cool and made the game more fun than just driving off.

I’m going no assist for my NG+ playthrough whenever they decide to release it. It’s genuinely challenging to not hit the ground for me. I couldn’t play lower than 5😂

it’s not even that hard. i decided to start with no swing assist on my first playthrough, and despite screwing up at first, i quickly got the hang of it.
I remember when Ultimate Spiderman came out on GameCube and loving how they finally made webswinging fun and fluent. This looks like that but better. I should probably check this out.

There was a fan game that might still be up with movement it deserved. It had a chibi look, so a potential negative if that's not your thing. But I enjoyed it when I played it.
Yeah I’ve been doing it ever since I unlocked web tether, they only tell you it’s to wrap around buildings faster but you can use it in that way as well. Don’t use it for too long to or your momentum will slow down.
This is what it was like playing Spider-Man 2 (PS2) after getting all the swing speed upgrades. That game didn't even have automatic wall-running. When you got good it was truly satisfying.
It sucks that Spider-Man 2 didn't get any recognition at The Game Awards, cause man is this a great game, especially the mobility. Rarely did I want to fast travel because it felt fun to just swing and glide your way to your objective. If there were an award for Best Mobility in a game, it would've gone to SM2.

I figured this would be a bait and switch, with the 12-year-old ending up being skilled, but using radio towers to gain momentum to move farther, that's honestly pretty big brain especially for a 12-year-old bravo
My brother got his boys a switch for Christmas this year. I went over a couple months ago and my 5.5 year old nephew sat by me and started playing Mario Odyssey, I was expecting that I'd have to point some stuff out to him and explain some controls... Kid played it better than me XD
Mhm, it’s in the gameplay settings and it’s a 0-10 scale, I use 1 because it keeps me from hitting the ground 90% of the time but I can still hit buildings and cars if I get too close, it also has more physics to it.
Still wish when Peter lost his job that he would have got a pizza delivery job side quest line, they could have had you delivering pizzas to the many “landmarks” that we all took pictures of in the first game. I’d say the more notable ones. They could have been able to inject side quests through that, where in Spider-Man 2 they were wanting to show a bit more of Peter Parker than Spider-Man, the choice to deliver the pizza’s on the bike, or as Spider-Man would have been a cool thing to see. Imagine as Spider-Man, delivering someone from the Avenger’s tower a pizza, or delivering a pizza as Peter to the Baxter building and having a Reed Richard’s cameo? Or delivering a pizza to Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock at work ? I don’t think I have to keep listing stuff cause the options are endless, I truly wonder how much stuff was cut from the game, especially with the hidden Kraven Trophy room that you can find under the world through a glitch. The game had 10/10 potential but went for a somewhat safe sequel that made it a 8/10.
