All my life i've wanted to join. In the last year i made the decision to do so, however, a few months ago I ended up fainting in a shop, smashed my head on the floor, this caused me to have quite a severe head trauma which lead into 3 seizures at the hospital, I think i've developed epilispy from this as sometimes I faint and have mini seizures which lasts no more than 5 seconds. its a very rare occurrence and extremely fustrating, but utlimately stops me from joining. All im saying is Ladies & Gents, if you want to join, do it now when you're fit and healthy, as you don't know what life has in store for you around the corner, I wish i had listened to myself and followed my dreams a lot earlier. Get your A game on and start training. Life is what you make it. Have no regrets.
I really wanted to sign up but having known someone who passed in Helmand I refuse to - it's definitely hard not to be interested though. I think it's easy to forget this stuff ain't all fun and games and when it comes to crunch time you are going to be put into horrible situations. Don't think I have the brass honestly and I know for a fact he would tell me not to sign up if he could. He was 23 and a true legend.
I wanted to join but ended up getting really ill in a military college and still recovering from it but I haven’t been able to do PT for nearly 9 months
If you are contemplating on joining the Army - you're already there. The best advice any ex-server can give you is: Immerse yourself in it. Throw yourself at whatever the DS give you to do. They're not asking you to do anything that they haven't done themselves, or is impossible. Creates greatness it does. Creates more confidence than you could ever imagine.
So nervous 😬 but this has made me realise how much of a strong relationship you make with new people and how much the army can change your life, going away for my selection on the 15th.. wish me luck!! 🤞🏼 Love the videos I enjoy watching what you go through on a daily basis
Ellis Armstrong you gone pirbright?if so, make sure you stay active in the team tasks on the last day keep ur head high and communicate clearly...for the interview be polite and formal. Also try to go there in a suit!
@@bethclark5700 I had some complications with my eye sight so now I'm in the process of getting lazer eye surgery. I know I can join with glasses but would rather not have to rely on them. So once that's done and I have recovered it's back into the process
I’ve currently been trying to get to basic training for nearly 3 years. Due to false information on my medical records, that highlight depression (which I’ve never had) yet it shows on my medical records. So far I’ve had 2 applications, both have been rejected on my medical form stage, I do not in any way want to give up on joining the army, in particular the Paras. I’m going as far as a court case to rectify and correct my medical records, and hopefully after more than 3 years and money spent, hopefully, I can make it to basic training.
@Luke Cutts. Have a look at the medical queries section on the unofficial British Army Forum ARRSE ( arrse.co.uk ) and see how others have been advised on this problem.
Mate same thing happened to me, had a stomach problem about 5 years ago - went on my record as having IBS (never diagnosed) literally mentioned as a potential thing. That's stopped me getting in to the army and from doing clinical trials.
ShaneH 😂 all in the name of good bants.! The British Army as a whole is strong no matter what Unit or Regiment you aspire to be apart of or are apart of. But seriously we are recruiting😉 😂. All jokes aside, thanks for that comment, really appreciated 🤟🏻.
Love you videos started watching 4 weeks ok when my sone started his basic trading wjth kizley and Guthrie good to watch what he will be doing and the plus he enjoying most of the training lol
I did 14 weeks basic at catterick parachute regiment. I made a harsh decision to leave and ended up joining the reserves and have a part time job on the side. The money is good from both if you balance it well like I do and you don’t have to have that army life style (which in my opinion is glorified prison) just putting it out there for anyone who isn’t 100% sure about joining the army. Perhaps even join the reserves and move over to the full time army which is still always in my head if I choose. Good luck to anyone who tries. More that can be said for most.
@@arwen_m7786 I think it was learning soldiering right from the start, I was a fell runner before I joined so the physical side wasn't to much an issue although the physical training staff found ways to beast the living daylights out of me but once I went to Bn I was in a Rifle company for 10 years before I transferred to Mortars so until that point I hadn't really learnt anything new, I'd attended my courses but they were only about proving I could do the job relating to my rank structure.
@@arwen_m7786 Beating? I was never physically beaten, beasting is a term that is coined for physical effort as in pushing you harder than what you think you are physically capable of so for all I was an excellent runner, my upper body wasn't so strong so I was pushed physically harder with upper body exercise.
in my family there is quite a lot of branches through the generations like my great grandad being in the army and so on higher family members and when im around 18 im going to join the RAF hopefully and my brother has gone here to pirbright for 14 weeks basic training in the army and i want to see what he is dealing with so this video is very helpful
Waiting for medical from gp to come back then hopefully getting booked in for assessment soon, will be my second time round come into the army, biggest mistake I ever made was leaving in the first place
i’m thinking of joining the army when i turn 17 years 6 months, so i have time to think as i’m only 16 at the moment but i’m just curious if you think it would be a good idea to do Royal Military Policing as i wanted to be a police officer but i want something more challenging but definitely more rewarding, thoughts?
Should be going in September just waiting on my lichfiled date wanting RLC driver has anyone got any tips at the minute i do 3mile tabbing with around 27kg
I was there for 6 months, and yeah, when you’re there, you basically work 6 days a week in training. You get Sunday’s off. Rarely a Saturday. But every other day you’ll be doing something. You’ll wake up at 5am ready for morning scoff, then you’ll end up sleeping at either 22:00 or 23:00 depending on if you have your military locker squared away for morning inspection :)
Ease yourself into it. Practice with small weights (5-10kg) at first and only do short distances (2-3 miles). Aim to complete each mile in 15 minutes. Once you begin to do that then increase weight and distances gradually upto around 20kg/8miles. Remember to run or "shuffle" for at least a minute every mile, this will help to loosen off your legs
I really wanna join as a qualified dental nurse in the army, I’m just trying to find out more information about the training, just feel I might find it too hard if someone could give me some advice :)
Yo I was wondering if someone in the comments could answer my questions. Firstly, if you want to join as a junior soldier do u have go to harrogate or are there other locations? Second, does it really matter if the regiment you want to join is kind of far away? Cheers to anyone who can answer them👍
Nah lad If you’re joining as a js you have to go to harrogate as it’s the only place that trains under 18’s, and no it doesn’t matter if the regiment you want to join is far 👍🏻
Hi Fabziy, I am looking to join REME as a reserve, does a reserve have to complete the 14 week course like the regulars I can't find a good answers to this question, other then reserves take about 19-27day a year of training?
@@TomTheGamer913 cheer, I've ask when recruitment phone me. I've got the option of weekends or 8 day straight before 2 weeks at Pirbright then do weekend training etc but I will have phase 2 for another 2 weeks if I get the selection I wanted.
Hey, I was wandering if it is possible for some to be able to complete basic training and training for infantry/ Guardsmen/ partrooper and be deployed and come back all in one year or is that not possible because I am plainin to take a leap year and do it and if it not what is the shortest amount of time one can be in the military. ( only in the military front line for the second question)
Nope! All depends on availability, your job choice and how you do in the tests and medical. Guy i went to selection with got to basic in a matter of months. My job choice was a long waiting list one and it only took 7 months but that was with no hitches.
@lindowan123 I know, I'm northern Irish myself and all my English, Scottish and Welsh mates understand me well. The only accent I tend to struggle with is a really thick Scottish accent aha
Date October 19th 1781 location Yorktown British General Charles Cornwallis will surrender his troops over to the Americans after losing 500 British soldiers and hundreds more wounded the Americans have lost 80 soldiers the Americans have done it they have officially gotten their independence they will later turn into the most powerful nation on earth . I do respect the British but how did you let those Americans win cheers from japan 🇯🇵
lindowan123 London has more knife crime the New York does gun crime that’s a fact did you know you that ? And the USA doesn’t even have the highest gun crime in the world did you know that ?
C J We lost because of getting nuked twice you lost because of yanks with a single shot black powered musket .... you’re defeat is far more embarrassing We beat Russia 🇷🇺 in 1905 and have beat China numerous times though out history Japans old empire was very successful
Will the largest decent group in the USA is German in fact Americans have a long history with German influence in their military like Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben he was born in Germany but would later move to America and become a general there and would give the British hell he later died in New York in fact the American accent doesn’t sound like it’s related to the British accent because of all the German immigrants that came in and changed the accent for example Australia 🇦🇺 kinda sounds similar to the British accent as well as the kiwi accent and the South African accent Americans however lost that because of the Germans Americans are just modern day germans cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
