My 1954, 1977 and 2000 Les Paul Goldtops 

I opened up this old tweed computer and there was THIS guy in it. Cooool !

This channel is amazing! That 2000 is a “good wood era” LP. They were using old growth mahogany again from about 93 to 05. The guitars of that era are a little bit better than people realize. I have a 73 SG Standard that blows my mind when I open the case, same thing you described about your 52. It’s just the perfect guitar for me, an extension, if you will. Phil, I have a 2000 R7 Goldtop that is really amazing. People have mentioned to me that apparently there’s something about the wood during that time period. It’s probably total bullshit but I have to say that there really is something special about this one. I’ve owned about 6 Les Pauls over the years but this is the only one I still have.
