Welcome Back In todays video We finish Building the custom Subframe Grab Some Merch vtuned.com Grab Some Merch vtuned.com Follow us on Instagram / vtuned
When you first started this build I mentioned to you about my 80ish neighbor who is a avid Mustang enthusiast owning 3. He constantly asks me if you have another video out building this Mustang. We have watched from the beginning every time I go over with a new video, LOL. He hated to see a vintage Mustang cut up, but he is mesmerized with your progress. He absolutely enjoys seeing this.
No shit. The fabricators that I have been designing for, want spoon fed, so they can just glue it all together, like a IKEA book-shelf. Glad to see a younger guy, brave enough to do some REAL creative fabricating. Impressed.
Just sat down for the evening. Love the build a lot of detail. It’s great to see someone with a lot of genuine skill. Can’t wait to see how the mustang looks when you have it finished
I lol'd at 1:50 when I saw him using the calipers to eye-ball the centers of the tubes. Still... 1000x more confident of vTuned's project than that shitshow over on B is for Blunderingthroughmyhalfassedbuild.
As an old guy I am very impressed that you just get on and do it. Your talent and enthusiasm is amazing. As someone else said you do need a basic bench for all those machines which should be bench fitted. You could make a long bench out of stout timber to save money and just cover the top with a sheet of steel to avoid setting fire to it. Sorry to moan on on but you do need to wear gloves when handling grinders etc. I speak from experience. You can always buy a new grinder but hands are not so easy to replace. Accidents always happen when you least expect it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build.
Man you are an unique ARTIST Never seen such a passion , vision, knowledge, and flawless work Please keep it up & god bless you Can’t wait to see next video
Dude you SO need a bench to put all your machines on.....after 30 years of doing what you do my knees are shot.......$50 worth of 2 x 4s and a sheet of 3/4" plywood and you're good. If you want, I'll send you some drawings, take you an hour to build.
Vtune you have a great talent for building cars! This Mustang will definitely be one of the coolest builds seen on RU-vid! I look forward to every episode! Thanks for posting such a cool build!
He was playing a lot with LEGO Technic as baby, now as a young boy he moves up to real tools building sub frames from metal very cool, latter as adult might work with carbon or graphene 3D printing.. (I saw an father building his kid a Lamborghini Aventador replica from carbon..) who knows what future reserve latter for v-Tuned, he definitely is skilled enough to try out other stuff..
@@Vtuned just a word of advice? if you're getting smoke and sparks, you're pressing too hard and spinning them too fast. Make sure you're using bi-metal or carbide tipped ones too. (and use lots n lots of lube).
You must do a friendly call out to B is for build to do a multi event competition between your mustang builds. ( road course, drag, stopping , etc.) Would be fabulous content for both
You are doing a hell of job, keep up the good work. Can't wait to this thing running on it's own power! Next, I would like to see you turn this tang into a fast back!
I just love falling in love with the process! It's the processes that gets results in life. It takes time, effort and patience that is clearly shown here in your work. So much looking forward to hearing your '66 Ford Mustang roar to life and do an epic burnout!
Props for your mad mad skillz... in a world where everyone is just modding a kit, it's nice to see someone build from scratch. Can't wait for the next installment!
I'd like to suggest that the stock front and rear subframes be used, as well as the stock 2015 frame rail sections and floor (new, where necessary), to make a 'skateboard' which would be very strong, easier to connect to the '66 body, and already has all the mounting points for all the 2015 accessories you want to carry over. There's no need to 're-invent the wheel' by building subframes and frame rails and floors which already exist, but which may well need to be adapted to the '66 wheelbase, etc. - I'd rather see your creativity bringing the whole thing together, as opposed to making things you don't need to, which may take a lot of time and re-manufacturing to get them fitting right. You'll still need to come up with some brilliant ideas to make the '66 fit a 2015 'skateboard'! I can almost see the finished car and I want it SOOOOOOO bad, but I'll never be able to afford it! Good luck and inspiration going forward with the project...
The amount of work is insane!!! It’s great to see you sooo motivated, I really hope this car will perfectly fit your daily driving and fun. Keep doing great work on this gem 😍👍🏼👍🏼, I cannot wait to see the finished product.
I just started to watch your channel. I saw little bits of your earlier videos, but this car really caught my attention. I love to watch you work. You have many specialized tools, but I like how you use some of your tools on the floor of the shop and have extension cords all over the place, just like the rest of us.
Vtuned, the kind of guy who cuts a whole car in half to widen it by a few inches but sees the subframe and says I gotta construct a new one cuz there's no way to widen it...lol..I kid
Omg! Tube subftame looks so much better! Great job! Don't be afraid to change stuff up as you go along with the project. It's all part of the experience, maybe you didn't like how something came out there's no shame in changing it up. Can't wait to see how the completed frame turns out!
Gotta build one of those Wranglerstar 2x4 workbenches to set up the fab equipment. Would look awesome and be sturdy. Bonus points for Warehouse shelving for legs.
I've been wanting to get into welding for my motorcycle project and future car projects. I like that Klutch welding table with all the accessories it comes with for $180. Anyone have any other suggestions on a welding table that may be good for a beginner?
You should blue print it and sell the plans for your sub frame. It's a work of art! Absolutely beautiful and it's not even done yet. Almost as good as my instructional video on how to cut your own hair. Lmao Can wait so hurry up. Lol
You know you’re Eastern European when there is a watermelon with a knife in it laying around your shop (12:18). Where are the sunflower seeds? 😂 Love the craftsmanship 👍
great job at fabricating the sub-frame. I am concerned the tires/wheels look like they will hit the fenders once the weight is lowered onto the springs. I'm probably wrong because I can only judge through the camera's pov but it looked like the suspension is a bit wide for those fenders
@@Vtuned okay I thought were going to try to use orig fenders. BTW big fan of you and the Goonies. I'm a Nooga boy too,Or rather old man. Went to school with Simon Duffy of Duffy's radiators. Used to work at Sharp automotive on Cherry back in late 70's.
This is a cool project. When you finish it, you will have a huge sense of accomplishment. If I can offer a little advice, don't grind your welds down. they look OK as is. Spend a little more time and effort in the fit-up of your joints. gaps are what make the welds start looking crappy. Grinding will make them look bad and also weaken them. Also, you're kind of over-building it. I know you want it to be strong, but the car is going to end up being very heavy if you continue to use what appears to be 1-3/4" x .120 wall tubing and 1/4 inch plate for your suspension mounting brackets. If I'm wrong about the materials you're using, I apologize. That's what it looks like to me in the video. You can easily get away with 1-1/2" x .095 DOM, and 1/8" plate. just add a couple of gussets in areas that will see side loading. Maybe even dimple die the gussets for weight reduction and cool factor. Trophy trucks don't use 1/4" plate, and they clearly see more abuse than your Mustang will. I'm currently in the process of building a pre-runner/street legal 1450 truck out of a 1971 Chevy Suburban. it will be a center-mount front suspension and 4 link rear. The only part of my truck that has any 1/4" material on it is the lower bulkhead area that the lower A arms will attach to and the rear axle housing, but my truck will weigh upwards of 7k pounds, get launched off jumps, and hit 2-3 foot bumps at 80+ MPH. Hopefully, your Stang won't be doing any of that. I hope you won't take any of this as criticism. It's purely my two cents worth of advice. I know you want your car to perform well. It will handle better if it doesn't weigh 4500 lbs. when its done.
I grew up way out in the country on a farm and we broke a lot of stuff, farming equipment our transportation into town etc, sometimes need is the mother of fabrication lol I watched my dad remake the teeth on a ring and pinion that had broke he was a machinists by trade he broke out his measuring tools and started going to work before I knew it He had it back like new even better because it lasted! We ended up doing this on a couple of vehicles through the years he made a whole ring and pinion set for an old triumph European car, that first one he showed me that started my desire to make things is still in that old tractor I have, its like a part of my dad is still with me in that old differential, at least it brings a smile to my face when I start it up and pull an old stump out or plow a field, this is the fire we have to keep alive in our children anything is possible if you have the drive and want to do so! Amazing work vtune keep inspiring!
Your work just blow my mind. I start watchin' your videos from the start of this Mustang build. It amazed me every time. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
Man. Your knowledge is awesome. That´s so much good work right here. I wish I could do this kind of stuff. Keep up the good work. Kind regards from Europe :)
I’m a goonzquad watcher as I love the detail of the builds we are shown and the music mixed in and it’s just how they shoot stuff. Since the mustang arrived ive been watching this and your detailing on camera with this build is amazing. Your showing everything and that’s just what I love to see. Great work v-tune
