This is a beautiful example of an 850 R; it's a lot of fun to drive, and very well sorted dynamically with the brake and suspension upgrades, with a really pleasant ride handling balance. The engine runs smooth and strong, the 4-speed auto shifts great and is actually surprisingly responsive compared to many of today's automatics. The car doesn't really need anything else, I haven't ever wanted to throw more power at it, but you could. It'll need new rear shocks at some point, they're starting to get a little soft, and it could use a new set of tires in the next year or so. Very occasionally I've been getting an ABS/traction control light on, but then it goes away. Could be a dirty wheel sensor or a couple other things. The AC blows ice cold, and the dash seems to be pretty solid without any signs of broken mounts. This car has been garaged its entire life, so even all the infamous Volvo plastics and rubbers are in very good shape, for their age.
Maintenance History:
8/13. Right axle replacement.
9/13. Approx 80k miles on chassis, a non-oem oil line burst on original motor. Engine was replaced with a lower mileage 65k mile motor, it runs awesome! Replaced water pump, timing belt kit, tensioner, oil lines, cat. O2 sensor.
2/2014 spark plugs. Wires. Cap rotor. Lf axle shaft and wheel bearing. MSD Ignition coil. Front & rear brake pads. Window tint.
