i love it that normal everyday people can visit you and show off their vehicles and you guys treat them like friends you havent seen in awhile...keep it up.... keeping it real at home is what makes you guys so unique
Bobby, That's the way life should be. No fellow human being has true rank over another. It's only perceived/make-believe in my book. I was much older than my classmates in college and there was nothing more disappointing than when my 20yo classmate felt like a member of congress deserved better healthcare than he should get. He truly felt like the life of someone in politics was more valuable than his own. I'll never forget that very sad moment. ...Just ignore everything I just wrote. Let's just watch more TFL! Take care.
The H3 also looks WAY better than the H2. side by side there is actually a difference. the H2 looks shorter and taller whereas the H3 looks like they flattened it. Proportions look better.
I picked up a championship edition out of Louisiana last year, 82k miles. The VIN will still pop as an ALPHA even though headrest embroidery and exterior badging won't say it. I love it 99% of the time. Other 1% is when I'm at a gas station
Seriously good taste. I don’t like hummers nor aftermarket headlights or head units NORMALLY but this guy made them look very factory. Looks so good front to back. Great work, man. 👍🏼
I have to say, I have never been a fan of any of the GM Hummer products but I really like what you've done with this H3. Really tasteful mods, smartly packaged for off-road adventures. Really cool!
Thats a good looking H3, very tasteful and functional mods. I knew the Alphas had the 5.3 and optional front and rear lockers but didn't know they made a championship edition, more a basic model with the 5.3 and front and rear lockers, seems like the perfect combo. I have an '07 H3 3.7 adventure package with rear locker only. The H3 is a great truck.
Always loved the h3 I know it gets alot of hate from many people but it's well equipped and good size for the trails. Plus aftermarket support to make it better
What an excellent setup of an offroader with amazing spare gears etc. All this H3 needs is a supercharger. I also wanna thank this gentleman for the great spy videos of Hummer EVs at the drivethru's. Thank you tfl for sharing this video.
this was one of the beat looking, true off road vehicles. super capable as well. If GM had made those earlier, Hummer brand might survived. it was a true Wrangler competitor
This is one of my ultimate off road beasts out there in the used market! Unfortunately this particular edition of the H3 is virtually impossible to find. I love the simplicity and fact that it’s not oversized like an H2 or H1. Also can’t beat that ultra proven and super reliable 5.3 V8! Really appreciate that Adam brought this over to TFL to show off this bad boy!!
Thanks for keeping the hummer alive! We learn a little from every hummer you bring to the channel. This video i like how this guy explains his upgrades and where he got them from! I personally want to do so much with my hummer but I dont know where to start or where to find parts or how to fix common issues. We need a forum but with videos. Many of us hate reading and researching lol
I have the only hummer h3 that was parked on Wellington st fighting for freedom. I lived out of it for 22 days protesting. Best vehicle I’ve every owned. Will not get rid of it. Going v8 when the engines goes.
Very Nice! It would be cool if GM brings the H3 back and makes the baby duramax a option. Keep the payload up around 1700 to 2000 pounds and it would be the go to option for overlanding in the U.S.
Yes, make it out of the good stuff, small diesel, 10 speed, cheap version and one with multimatic shocks.... I would like to see updated SSR with 10 speed, after all it's small truck for those who only need very little truck, but with hard top convertible combination experience, it just needs camaro front styling
Great stuff. Very cool to see this as someone who has the H3 base model. Learned a lot from this video! If TFL gets a hold of the Hummer EV, it would be awesome to see a comparison between that and the older Hummers
Nice !! I just bought a 2009 H3T alpha with adventure pack !! Really like this truck !! I didn’t know how rare they were till I started looking online ,
I have the Truck version of this, H3T Alpha but with leather and Nav. Took years to find it, 170k on it, paint seen better days, I beat on it hauling equipment and everything, even 2500 pounds of flooring in the bed. These were the most under rated trucks of all time. Just torn on restoring it and putting the BTR cam and beast transmission build or going hummer EV. First world problems.
I have 2009 H3 Championship Series in like new condition (just like it came out of the factory). Bought it brand new. I recently detailed it and it is absolutely spotless. Never took it offroad. It came with front and rear locking differential (adventure package), sunroof, chrome package. with added offroading light and Bilstein performance shocks. It is in WAY better condition than what he has. Most people think it is a brand new vehicles and cannot believe me when I tell them it is 2009. It has over 130K on it but you would never be able to tell. Now that I hear all these good comments about it, it makes me appreciate my truck even more. :)
I love these H3s. If GM came out with it now to compete with the Bronco and Wrangler, it would do well. It was too far ahead of its time and GM tried to position it as a mall crawler with all that chrome crap. This version is how they all should have been. Also, the owner really knows his stuff. I'd love to know where he goes wheeling in Michigan. I'm close to there and want to find some good trails.
She took a beating but held up Awesome...might wanna fix your rear plate when you get to Michigan..Nice truck...ok didn't know about spare plate..smart guy
Man, nice rig! I've never given any of the H3 a look because they were marketed as a mall rig that you'd give to your teenager. This has caused my mind to ponder now, haha.
This is the one I always wanted, but never got any in the UK, so either the first version or the one I am looking for now is the pickup one as we have a fair few in the UK, but the guys that have them tend to keep them, but still looking.
It’s basically a Chevy Colorado platform with front and rear lockers If you get the off road z71 it comes with a v8 and lockers I had an 09 crew cab I’ve always liked the H3s
the Hutchinson True dual bead lock DOT legal wheels specified for aj FJ cruiser fit this truck perfectly, noi rubbing with 33's, they stick out only an inch or two and man do they look good, I have them on my 08 alpha witht he adventure package with KO2's and would not trade them for the world.
Wait a minute! This whole time that's a storage area😲😲😲😵😵😵. I've changed a tire multiple times and never knew I could use that area as storage as well 😆. I have a 06 h3 hummer
As a fan of the Bronco, and someone who has one on order, I WISH GM would have made a modern version of this type of platform for the Blazer, like a boxy ZR2 SUV. Just for the sake of the sport and competition, my condolences to GM fans.
Intelligent and awesome guest wih a wonderful host! Very informative. Deciding between FJ CRUISER and H3 ALPHA 5.0 for 90% daily driver and 10% tough off roading?? ty! CC
Mine will be special as soon as I swap in a duramax. My transmission is giving out at 430,000km and I’m going to drop both the engine and transmission since the Km’s are high and the vehicle still has tons of life on it. I got 20 inch chromes on 35’s and 16’ black winters. 1500 watts of sound power h3x ram bar painted grey to match plastics. I blew out my horn during the freedom convoy and added an aoooga horn. I’ve got a 24 inch tall 6x4 box on top for a generator, extra fuel and spare gear. On special days I run a triple flag hitch and drop flags all over it. It’s my protest vehicle and I won’t ever get rid of it if I can keep it going, I will.
I've seriously been wondering where all the H2/3s went off to. They used to be everywhere, now you see them once in a blue moon. I wondered if they got traded out during the Cash For Clunkers last round for mileage woes, but there's plenty of worse offenders still on the roads.
