By the way, the dial is an inverted California dial :) In a normal California dial, the numbers are at the bottom and the roman numerals at the top.

What an absolutely great watch. You don't need bells and whistles on this one! I could look at the movement all day. I would be tempted to wear it back side on the front and don't get anything done all day. Thanks Jody!

I love Nomos. They preserve their status as a kind of start up company. But in reality Nomos became the biggest manufacturer of mechanical watches in Germany. I used to have the Nomos Ahoi Atlantik and still own an Orion. I don’t like the look of the original Club but the Campus is an attractive watch - for sure!

I'm a big fan of Nomos. They make great watches. I received a Tangente for my birthday and I haven't been disappointed. The club is a great addition to anyone's collection.

I ussually find Nomos too minimalistic for my taste...but this one just speaks to me. Beautiful. I love the subtle design features and splashes of colour. Thank you for sharing this Ermad. Fantastic review Jody :)

Dial not my style but just from looking at the video on my phone you can tell the quality. Compared to the big boys and their high prices I think the price is just about justifiable. Love the slimness and the fact it has lume and is manual wind - winding your watch up is a nice daily ritual! Don’t think you’ll be disappointed buying this one!

I got the Ace Jewelers Amsterdam limited edition with a mate greyish dial and red numerals, limited to 75 pieces, definitely recommend it.

I tried one on at the AD a couple of days ago. It’s a gorgeous watch. Funnily enough I have the same goal as you. I prefer the all Arabic numerals but both are beautiful.

The Club 738 (black with display) was my first dress watch a few years back. The other day I purchased the Club Sport 42mm in blue and could be happier. Nomos makes some really cherry time pieces.

I definitely aspire to add a Nomos to my collection someday. Probably a 39mm Orion Neomatic or a Tangente with the fancy date wheel at the edge of the dial.

Just bought one of these as an everyday alternative to my Speedy. Managed to pick it up used, but seemingly in great condition, for £650 - bargain! As long as it's as described when it arrives

Classic case design with California style dial and nice little orange seconds hand. Very nice watch imho. Got a Presage SARW025 myself and still enjoy it. I like watches with a nod to the past.

I really like the NOMOS brand and was in Sydney CBD looking at NOMOS on Saturday. 38mm is the perfect size for me but I would have to spend more to get the tangente. But in the interim I have bought a Contempus Du Nego in White. Its Bauhaus.

Hello Jody! I very much enjoy your channel, and your voice. I am intrigued by Nomos - don’t live near an AD, but hoping to visit a city at some point where I can see some of these in person. I’m not sure the California dial is what I would pick, but I have yet to see a Nomos dial that I wasn’t drawn to. Might be an Ahoi for me, eventually.

Good review! You talked about AR coating. They don’t have any. That is my only regret in my Campus. Nomos state that AR coating changes the colours on the dial and so they don’t want to use AR. Terrible choice in my book! But the watch and the design compensate for it, and I like my Campus. Keep the reviews coming!!

Jodie I really think the Club 42 would be right up your street mate. It's 42mm, 1000ft water resistance and still they have managed to put a sapphire crystal back on it. In house nomos duw6010 movement..beautiful finishing and the lume looks absolutely gorgeous. I'd say the lume is better than their tangente 42 which is also similarly spec'd. But the lume on the tangemte isn't quite as nice imo. I'd love to see your review of the club 42

Yep, indeed a great watch! Also, could I ask you to take a look at the Vostok Classica? It's a 39mm vintage dress watch, similar to the Timex Marlin and around $160. I personally think it may even be better than the Orient Bambino and I imagine it would be great for your subscribers to see! Also there is not much content on it on youtube and I would like to get a better view xD

Hm. Cool... the Campus38 is a GREAT watch. Pricey, but if you can afford it, it's worth it. ... I sold mine on WUS a week ago xD . If the size fits you, go for it. Btw. The handwinding feel of this movement is much, much better than the handwinding feel on most ETA automatics, and better even than the eta2801 / sellit sw210 handwound movements. The Nomos alpha has a much crisper stopping feel at the fully-wound point, and a lot crisper 'clicks' when winding.

The Nomos for me would be the 'Autobahn'. Bit pricey but the white dial with blue lume is just spectacular. Put Kraftwerk on in your car and be transported back to the 70s...I say back, I wasn't born till 87' but still!

If you like this style of watch you can check out the Stowa Partitio (D. 37 mm; it comes with automatic caliber - only on Manufactum available - or hand winding, black or white dial and optional with red seconds hand). Currently 670,-/770,- EUR.

I have recently been looking for a “grail watch” to celebrate paying off my student loans, and have been debating between a nomos or a Tudor. That thing is absolutely gorgeous, but I would do either the Orion or the tangente. For me I would much rather have a watch with no lume than one with poor lume

Glass back is a no brainer. I'd like one, everyone says they wear big but the 36mm version size worries me. I've been looking at Nomos, Stowa, max bill and even quartz grand seiko.

Did you end up picking the Nomos? I’m currently trying to decide between the Nomos Club 703 (white dial), Junghans Max Bill (white dial) and Stowa Partitio (white dial).

@@DutchBulldog I owned the 38 mm Max Bill white with the numerals. Loved the precision of the dial and bauhaus design. But my problems were I was always wary of the crystal which is a acrylic but coated for scratch protection. So if you got a scratch you can't just polish it out. Also it had a ghost date and the rotor was noisy. So it got flipped.

Well it is nice and thin! But at $1650 I will stick with my SARB035 for a white dial and put that money toward the German watch I really want: the Sinn 556. Cheers.

One of the reasons to buy Nomos is they make their own movements. So, additional to the design, you buy it for the engineering that you don’t get with a ubiquitous NH35, SW200, etc.

Not exactly my cup of tea (or magnum of champagne given the price) but very nice watch and that movement is stunning. Now that is meant for a glass back case. I actually really like hand winding movements. Automatics definitely add a convenience, but there is something nice about having to hand wind, plus the thinness of the case helps. Nice grail to aim for

Jody, Very funny watching your hand gestures and posture change as you give your thoughts (visible in the reflections on the Nomos case up to about 2min50s). I had always presumed they were voiced over after. You'll be cursing HD but I even spotted a tiny drop of spittle landing on the box as you expounded!! Good on you, you could class yourself as the Daniel Day Lewis of watch reviewers.

Great watch. However the see through window on the caseback is a little larger than the movement itself, so you can see the crown stem and a gap surrounding the movement. That's a bit of a disappointment for me, I don't know why they couldn't make a ceseback that fits the movement.

NOMOS is nice. I have a Rodina R005 ST17, NOMOS Homage. I like nouhhhmaahss nouhmoos. I prefer Seiko CockTail Time. Especially a nice one. Or the Orient Star roman numerals. But that's my thing. My Rodina functions as my dressy watch as well. NOMOS' arent pure/perfect dress-watches though, just dressy enough to pull it off. And yours with the orange hand is even less of a dress-watch but that's fine :)!!! Not bagging on it.

Could it be the case that the number on the back is not the ref number, but that it wants to say that this is the 4725th watch produced? When having a Look at the Nomos Website at the exact same model, you can find the number 3376 on the back. My New Nomos Club Campus 38 will be delivered to my store of choice in a few weeks and I'm very much looking forward to inspect the number on my Nomos ^^ let's See. Thanks for your Video.
