What a special video !! Love the tabac dial, really nice 🤩 And what a special personal message, and yes we all go through these type of moments/periods. Absolutely great to see you getting that feeling back for the love of watches 😍 Your channel really is one of the better ones out there 💪🏻🥳
Edwin is HERE! 💕💕✨✨ The tabac dial is so RICH AND LOVELY! 😍✨✨✨ I think that’s my favourite too! Nomos and Glashuette really did reinvigorate my love of horology. It was just what I needed!
within the RU-vid watch community, your videos are incredibly delightful and refreshing! Please continue to make your content. You definitely have something going here!
Having also spent a week in Glashutte this past spring, your video brought back fond memories of strolling past Nomos HQ on the way to take the train to Dresden, of my visit to the German Watchmaking Museum, and browsing the selection of Nomos timepieces at their Kaufhaus in Glashutte. My souvenir of that memorable trip is a Tangente 38, and I heartily recommend to fellow watch enthusiasts that if you want one of their manual wind entry level models like I did, choose the exhibition case back - you won't regret it!
I'm glad you got the fire back for the channel. I love your videos. Regarding Nomos. I do enjoy the Club Campus but these really do nothing for me, I guess I just really enjoy the Nomos straps. I also like the California dial.
Welcome to the chat Gringa’s new kitten! I am quite taken by that Tabac! Hey Britt! I went to this Christopher Ward event in NYC and they gave a presentation. AND in the middle of that presentation, they mentioned you and had screen grabs of you a couple of other RU-vidrs with quotes. I was like hey! I follow her! Haha super cool yo.
I love your content! I’ll definitely be watching more of your content. I have some new nomos coming into my collection in these next few months and will be doing some content on them. I’ll probably give a shout out as I really appreciate what your doing here and didn’t know about these two colour ways until this video! Great work! Also… do you have family with different uk accents? Or are you hiding yours? lol i keep hearing hints of wales or something.
Britt! It is warming to see you express your emotions, and lay bare the struggles we all go through. You and James will always have a special place because you both prove you care. Warm wishes to you both. Also great video! Long Live the Cult(s) and 4:30 date windows.
DONH!!! He’s here!! With a new RU-vid name?! 😝😱 you threw me off there! BAHAHA but you know; I hid that part at the end! I know most people are here for the watches. But nomos really has reinvigorated my love of watches. 💕 I really needed that trip to nomos and Glashuette and just soaking it all in! Sending you ALL OUR LOVE! Long live the cult(s) and may 4:30 date windows die a death! 👻💕💕😝😝😝✨✨✨💕
@@BrittPearceWatches Britt! Sorry about the name change. That is my second gmail account that I do not use that often. It is my spam/list sign up account. I do not know how it was not on my primary. Sorry...4:30 date windows rock!!
Hi Britt, I love them! Fabulous that you visited Glashütte! Are you going to make a special video about that visit? 🤪🤪 Oh wait! I hadn't viewed the last part! Great...(drool...) I just HAVE to visit them as well!! You're inspiring, got all enthusiastic.....😊
I like the new Nomos Kitten. Second favorite is the Club Sport being below the 50 mm lug to lug, which is the magic number for being wearable on a smaller wrist. Very well could be my first Nomos, I've been on the sidelines wanting one for four years now.
Great vid... love the honesty. Sometimes, you can just hear the truth . Perhaps passion would have returned, but reconnecting with one's past is surely a good thing.
I have always found Nomos so minimalistic, and so I never found them to be worth the price point. These Nomos Club Sport watches, with their beautiful sunburst dial, certainly breaks the mold. This is a Nomos that I would consider buying. My only issue with it is the painted markers. To get that premium feel, and to justify that premium price, applied markers just seem more fitting. In any case, thank you, Britt, for bringing these gorgeous watch to our attention.
I specifically like the Club Campus in grey or purple (which is a very toned down shade) and I once wanted to know whether I can pull off a 38 mm on my just under 7 inch wrist and it works fine. But whether the considerable gaps between the spring bar and the watch case are so attractive can be debated. The bracelets on the other hand are kind of an eyesore for me because they are just too shiny, not just the clasp.
I feel you. There are times I'm more interested im watches, than others. Sometimes these phases can go for a few months. Now I still wear my watches, but am not getting super hyped about anything watch related. And than I'm suddenly all over this topic again 😅 Also I'm more interested in japanese and german watches, than swiss ones.. don't know why
Love your confession and what you learned while in Germany. I have always loved Nomos (and Sinn) and my Orion is one of my favorite, mechanical dress watches. However, I ordered and received the Neomatic 37 in green because I fell in love with it online, but in person it failed to do it for me, so sadly I had to return it to my forgiving AD.
I totally get wanting to have a distinctive unique design feature that makes your brand more recognizable and associated with but the overly long lugs is not the way to go.
I'm about a year in with the 37mm Petrol, and it has been a great watch to wear and enjoy. It sits flat on the wrist, it's lightweight, it's very comfortable, and the lume is actually very good. I can make adjustments to the bracelet in about 30 seconds when the temperature fluctuates (a frequent occurrence in Ohio), and the DUW-3001 is lovely to stare at when time allows. I also get a ton of compliments on the dial - as you said Britt, Nomos are masters of color! So cool to hear about your enriching trip to Glashutte and just how much these folks love the art of watchmaking 🙌
Thank you for the great video. As a watch lover from Germany who lives in Switzerland I love how you appreciate Glashütte and Nomos. And for Nomos: I think the 39mm is the sweet spot for me. Dangerous for the wallet...
These are a HUGE 39mm - in addition to the daddy long lugs, the dial aperture is also big for a watch of this size - definitely try the 37mm and work up from there
What what whaaaat!!! 100 FREAKIBG K!!! Can you believe?!?£ I’m still trying to wrap my brain around it! 💕✨ We saw the ALS manufacturing facilities but didn’t go in. 💕💕✨
Frist found you through the podcasts with the watchfinder guys a couple of days ago. So yeah just subribed to you. anyway as a German I have to say there a lot of brands here in germany that get sleepen on. Junghans, Vandaag, Nomos is definitv of of them , Lilianthal Berlin and Guinand.
I love the long lugs. As someone with a 20cm (7 3/4in) and rather flat wrist, their "extended" case is the only 39mm watch that looks like a watch rather than an enlarged freckle! Great vid Britt!
Love this vid. NOMOS makes such great pieces for the money. Really the Glashutte area in general is just amazing. Outside of Omega in the Swiss world when it comes to value for money Germany wins most battles IMHO. Nomos, Glashutte Original, Lange...all absolutely amazing.
I love the Club Campus but the orange color doesn't come with a display caseback for some reason. I want one but I also want to see that gorgeous movement 😭
Thanks for an excellent review (as usual). I thnk there's a pricing issue within Nomos's lineup. This seems great, but is it twice as great as a Nomos Club Campus? This is an automatic piece and comes with a bracelet... but still. It's a hard call for me.
Love the tabac dial, and I’d definitely get that one. But the second hand is almost invisible. They should have had it with the white for contrast, or maybe have Tabac with the Ember color second s band and Ember dial with a Tabac seconds hand. Anyways, I saw someone else posted a review a week or so back and immediately went to check it out, it’s that good! But the price is a bit much (though I’m very sure it’s worth it) maybe early next year :)
These are beautiful! Do you think they will come out with smaller diameter size (maybe 34 or 36) and more colors? I wish these are available in Canada 😊
What a fantastic watch and fantastic video! I love Nomos, and as far as the long lugs, they did have an outlier in their catalogue, the Metro! My Metro 41 Update has a shorter lug to lug than the Club 38mm! It’s still a large circle on my wrist, but it’s all watch and no lugs 😂
I love this new release. I love the chocolate brown color. This line gives sophisticated field watch because it is time only and the Arabic numerals. Would love to see how the Tabac looks like on an olive rubber strap or nato strap.
I've never wanted a bracelet on a watch, but seeing that Tabac version contrasted with metal is just beautiful and I completely get it now. Really well shot btw.
I think I like steel bracelets, especially in hot weather. The trouble is I need half links and tool-less microadjust. I don’t remember that problem when I was younger and slimmer but my wrist really varies depending on my temperature. I don’t know if it’s the total weight but I also prefer smaller watches on a bracelet. I’m so fussy. Mostly wearing a rubber strap at the moment
@@frogsplorer Temperature dependent :D, reminds me of the Ideal Gas Law from physics I learnt as a kid. Rubber straps are also my favourite, especially with a blue dial.
Just got my first ‘Luxury’ watch which is the Nomos Club Campus 38.5mm in Magenta I’m a guy btw and I love it except for the overly long lugs!! Have never thought of getting a Nomos let alone my first expensive watch but I think it’s one of my favorite brand now except for the overly long lugs
If they are keen on keeping the lugs long, female end links would mitigate that well. For the strap models, my issue is just the gap between the strap and the case.
Britney, you have read my mind. I have been obsessing about Nomos lately. 😅 I think for the price the specifications are unmatched. Thin is luxury;) I am gonna go to an AD and check it out. And yes, the polished clasp will drive me crazy or crazier 😅
No denying the quality and all that but the design is the biggest factor on if you like and want to wear a watch. I personally don’t dig the lugs, the bracelet, or the clasp and wouldn’t purchase for those reasons. I find it funny that a brand is aware that many of their potential buyers and enthusiasts complain about the lugs, but yet they refuse to do anything about it.
I think you’re so right! The design definitely isn’t for everyone ! 💕 and design is such an important part in choosing a watch - if not the most important thing! Design and wearing experience.
I'd like to see Nomos do more with the Tangente Duo series. Sternglas, Nordgreen, and others all play in that Bauhaus sandbox. Just give me two hands, no complications, and some fun colors like on the Club Campus.
Oh man, I barely got the Cartier Santos through the door and now this video shows up. I'm so getting that dark brown tabac Club Sport. Amazing. These videos are financially taxing on the wallet 😂❤
I hear you on the clasp! What I've resorted to doing is just taking my watch off whenever I know I'll be sitting at my desk for more than a few min. It's not ideal and I'm also not the kind of person to put a watch in a safe, but I personally hate seeing scratches appear from things I know I could've avoided vs accidents or bumps from daily wear!
@@frogsplorer I had one but ultimately didn't like it because it trapped dead skin and moisture (gross and basically impossible to clean), I have a granite one currently that I just love the look and feel of but it's brutal on clasps and bracelets. I might consider a wooden one! I had one before but gave it to my girlfriend
Respect for them even making their own hairspring and balance. Not many watchmakers do that. Apart from long tooth lugs, cheap stamped clasp, and the subpar bracelet, they are great watches for the price. The Horween leather straps are good quality as well.
New to watches and I am really digging this Nomos brand, what you get for the money is amazing. I am probably going yo buy their light grey Club next year (buying a Longines right now). I have the means to buy a Rolex but unlike my sister who just dropped $15k on one for the name I don’t need to brag to the world that I am successful, I just cannot see ever spending $15k on a watch when there are so many fantastic watches put there like these or others for a fraction of the cost.
I own the 37mm version, and there is nothing subpar about the wearing experience of the bracelet. This watch is every bit as comfortable as a DateJust. Certainly a "glide lock" style micro-adjust system would be an upgrade, but I can't think of other brands at our below this price point offering on-the-fly adjustment - Tudor now has the T-Fit, but their prices have risen a bit higher than Nomos. The clasp is also definitely milled, although I agree scratches show easily on its polished surface. I just wanted to address those points, as I see overall you are praising Nomos which they absolutely deserve. As far as the lugs, that is part of their design language and is easily accounted for by going with a smaller case size.
I agree with your gripes. But I also think this style of watch would look better with a jubilee-style bracelet rather than an oyster-styled bracelet. The jubilee bracelet would really elevate the dressy components and probably add to the comfort.
Currently have two NOMOS and planning to get at least two more. The company’s values show in their watches. And the more I learn the more I want their watches.
Knew that puff filter would work, and yep Nomos has its own language. Still a 1921 Platinum forever. Guessing max compression too :-) smiling sound/watch dude. Well done on the heavier Rode setup. Getting back to learning why you love it. You sound back after recovery, congrats.
I went by the Tokyo store of Kurono when I was in Japan. I love their philosophy and what they are about as well. YT indeed makes you feel shitty not just buying Rolex and how they don't lose their value. Which has gotten to me after a while as well. Even though only 1 of their watches evokes a good feeling for me. It makes it harder to just enjoy the ones that make you feel happy.
Tim Jacks!! This is way too kind of you! 😭💕💕💕 this whole last year I’ve been trying to up my video production and get better at it! Almost completely self taught! My friends Vu and Lydia helped me learn how to focus and everything! But this whole last year I’ve bee n watching so many RU-vid videos on videography and product photography and just trying to improve 💕💕💕
I’ve never really been into Nomos’s style of watch but now they have my attention…. I still think I’m gonna shoot for the glasshutte lunar pano date but definitely on my radar now
I love Nomos, Farer, Vario, etc because they are watch companies that make accessable watches that move the horology needle through design and innovation. They do it quitely like the Trinity + 2.
