@@ShredShack help! my family has owned seadoos my whole life and im looking into this ski. do you suggest this ski even with the problems?

@@cassandrapetrone1888 go with a Yamaha. Seadoo makes a good spark/trixx if you must have a smaller jetski. They ride like a motorcycle, but for a 3 seater or something that more reliable I reccomend a used Honda or a New Yamaha. They are the most reliable

Just normal maintenance, oil change, check battery to see if it’s secured, avoid dirty and shallow water, chances are the customers are going to break wear rings

I just did a visual check and everything appeared okay. I did not take it apart because I had limited tools at the ramp. I have a wear ring on standby if need be but it's been running pretty well, top speed and all after removing the bottle cap. Thanks for the support!

I'm no expert just yet so I am not sure on the specifics but getting water in the engine is a possibility when towing the jet ski. I've seen that people will clamp it in order to prevent this. If you are unable to clamp it, it is highly recommended to tow extremely slow. If you have facebook, you should join the seadoo spark riders group, they are extremely helpful when it comes to sparks and any issues you may have.

It was in the impeller, so if you go under the jet ski while it is on the trailer and look into the intake grate underneath where the water is sucked into, you can see the impeller slightly. We used a long screw driver to get the bottle cap because we could visibly see it without having to taking anything apart.

For sure I threw a screw driver in the bag I bring with me and got a wear ring as well if need be. How was changing the wear ring on the beach. I haven't done it yet so I don't know if I would do it on the beach for my first time changing the wear ring.

@@ShredShack wasn't bad was my first time took me a couple hours cause my swivel broke so I couldn't get one bolt out and I had the wrong socket. If I had the right tool and a spare swivel 20 minutes maybe. You want a short socket and a couple extensions to get past the ibr and have 2 swivels I forget the size of socket.

Seadoo reccomends that you change the oil after the first ten hours due to the break in. You’ll probably be fine if you just do it at 100 or end of season.

@@ShredShack ..In mine in sea doo service change oil in 21 hours..and tell me to just ride 😁..till to end of season

It’s recommended to change oil once a year or every 100 hours so I’ll probably change it more than once this year since I should exceed the 100 hours after changing it at 25

It’s been winterized, I think around 120 or so

I sucked a lego peace on the other side of the lake I drove 5 mph to a boat ramp it too, about a hour lucky my dad drove the truck over there to the boat ramp

Yea it's crazy how such a small piece of plastic can stop a propeller from moving. If only people didn't throw the trash into the water

@@brettphillipsmma777 Poor pre-ride check / maintenance. Completely his fault. Use a socket to tighten the bolt vs. a screwdriver and it won't come loose. I know this because it has happened to me. I didn't blame the ski.

@@brettphillipsmma777 That is the reason that wing nuts and screws are not recommended for battery connections in the marine world a loose battery connection can create a spark an you can go boom. It happens way more than you think. I would remove them Phillips head screws from that battery and put a socket head or hex head bolt on it get rid of wing nuts or screws they are a bad idea.

I mean I would consider not turning on and being stuck in water broken down but yes they were minor fixes. It doesn’t appear that the cap damaged the wear ring or impeller. But to your point we’re still riding strong now
