I think that performance levels will be king. They'll be close, I think. Not sure we'll be seeing a clear no.1 at McLaren anytime soon.

I think they'll prioritize Lando the rest of this season, using the WDC as justification. Next year is game on. I predict one of them won't be there in 2026

another mclaren 1 2 and if the redbulls both DNF, which is unlikely but certainly possible. We could be going into the summer break with just 7 point between them.

@@NotSamuzed0o0 yeah, Norris would have 214 if he wins. So he'd be 51 behind. Still a good ways back but, not impossible at all. Especially if they do get Oscar to play defense the rest of the year since for him, mathematically, he's kinda out of it. There's a 10pt gap from 1st to 3rd. So if Lando went on a streak and Max finished 3rd...that 51pt gap is gone in 5-6 races. Which still leaves 5-6 races left.

Tsunoda won't replace Checo, he's Honda's man, Lawson was reportedly too slow on filming day. It's either Danny or Checo staying at Red Bull

I think the draggy McLarens will likely be off the pace here, but if they somehow aren't, it is worth remembering that Oscar was faster than Lando around here last year. It would be very awkward if Oscar beats Lando to a second win.

I thought last years performance was more in relation to their aero/wing package? They were more focus on the platform this time last year and didn’t bring a low down force wing setup.

Oscar was only faster because Lando has gone off in Q1 and drove the entirety of Qualifying with damaged floor, in sprint Oscar was prioritised with pit stop (which was the right thing to do) and lost out massively

Piastri is managed by Webber, who has had a bad history with team orders & preference treatment of team mates. Piastri probably has escape clauses in his contract. Horner has said he wants him if Max leaves, likely that Mercedes will be on the prowl as well if they can't get Max. I don't think giving wins to Lando is workable for them

In Hungary the cars where all running to the limit of how much they could preserve / protect the tyre. So I think that visacashappracingbulls pace was highlighted and I would expect that hass could have a better affect in spa

Spa is tied with interlagos for the best track on the calendar imo. I look forward to this weekend every year.

I'd say spa, suzuka and imola are the best tracks while interlagos, redbull ring and monza deliver the best races. silverstone is an honorable mention for both categories

I’m guessing mercedes 1 & 2 where Russel P1 is disqualified. Piastri 3 btw. Perez not performing and up for evaluation. Training shoot out Wednesday between Lawson and Ric, where mag gets the RB seat

I don't think the track will be good for the Racing Bulls, but it should be great for Haas. The top speed advantage will be huge for the final points and should make it really, really hard to pass the haas cars if they qually decent.

Zandvoort would be a great spot for a sprint race. 3 sprints in Europe, Austrian, British & Dutch GP's. 2 for the Americas, Miami & Sao Paulo. 1 each in the Middle East & Asia. What are the thoughts on awarding a point for pole position in the main race?

The lando championship priority thing seems silly when oscar is closer to lando than lando is to max. wouldn't be that crazy for oscar to be the lead mclaren in the championship by the end of the season.

I believe McLaren know this and will prioritize the most consistent driver to secure a drivers championship on equal footing. If next year starts with Oscar equal to Lando, I think it'll be up to Lando to mistake/screw himself out of a chance to fight. McLaren is playing neutral from the start, I hope, so they can smoothly navigate to give Oscar a boost if he's closer to Max on certain tracks/years than Lando

Max will fight for third after coming back from 10th off the grid. It will cold temps so Merc will be in the mix. Max will have to battle The George and Lando, who knows probably crash and Max and one of those two go off DNF. Sir Lewis 2nd. Oscar the racing robot (and I mean that in a nice way - for a young guy hes got ice in his veins) 1st.

I disagree, like the other commenter has said Daniel very much has a driving style similar to Max and also likes the car set up similarly too. I think he’d do quite well. His biggest mistake was leaving red bull.

Doing the basic Match , Lando need to Win all of the races ( not including sprint and fastest lap ) , with verstappen P2 and he would beat him by 1 point . Considering form , its very likely he catch max

Max had a few errors and bad luck in the past races. They are very much toe to toe right now. I would still place max above lando. Lando makes too many errors to catch up to max.

Don’t get me wrong, spa is a brilliant track but I think it’s very overrated Like it’s a great track to drive but the races are nearly always just mid, there’s hasn’t been a actual good race there since 2016 and it’s very dangerous at points Great track but no where near best on the calendar imo

@@KJ28554 I went to the Old Hockenheim in the 90s. Now that was a race track. Ironically, it would be well suited for today's F1 cars. How I would love to see that. Spa was not really a great spectator track either. Canada in turn 1, and Brazil in the Grandstand was the best F1 seats I ever had.

RB will do absolutely anything to not even consider Yuki. How could they even be weighing on Danny Ric? Yuki has destroyed him all year pretty well. I don't know why they are even looking at him. I would rather take the gamble on Lawson if Yuki was not an option.

You should check the lap times from 30 to 60 from last weeks race. The author made a relative comparison. DR was quicker than Yuki over this race period. They compared same tyres, both had pitted very close together therefore comparable. I too was surprised that DR was catching up and doing better lap times!

Because Daniel likes oversteer cars compared to Understeer. Redbull is a perfect match for his style. Plus, all Redbull wanted to see is, he can be on the maximum pace of the RB, which he is. Because you could see that Daniel caught up Yuki on pace over the last 5-6 races. Daniel and Max is a PR dream which will help cover up Perez's merch sales up to a point.

@@Stappedllama Ha! I've been to over 80 GP since 1982. LOL. DR has had his ass handed to him for almost a decade. He's got his teeth to market with a shoe full of crusty champagne once in a while. Even when he was winning he was inconsistent. If he is 50/50 at best against Yuki, who btw is killing it, he is not worthy of the seat. That does not imply he won't get it. He's simply not going to fair any better than anyone else, against a driver that a team was built entirely around.

It's more like a 4-week break, is it not? Lando Norris now knows the game is up! His team have thrown their support behind Max Verstappen to win the title (why else would they gift him 7 points?) and his worst enemy is in the car on the other side of the garage. Time for some soul searching, find his "inner Ocon" and destroy the whippersnapper. Time to get dirty... it may cost him a few DotD votes but that can't be helped. 😂

even with oscar’s questionable and still somewhat inconsistent tyre management he’s just about on pace with lando most of the time. won’t be long until he’s clearly the better of the two. lando can’t even make it into the first corner in front of him or pass him on track, idk how he’s going to destroy him

Lando won't be allowed to win. He will be asked to move aside for their number one driver Piastri. Lando wasted a very promising career with McLaren.

oscar the number one driver 💀 how many times has lando been catching oscar and instead of fighting to get past (like mclaren say the drivers can do) they team order oscar to let lando through. lando clearly gets preferential strategy treatment, even when he’s behind oscar, because he’s mclaren’s golden boy - which is hilarious because with the way oscar’s tire management has been increasing it won’t be long until he’s very clear outpacing norris.. even with his questionable tire management he’s already been a threat to lando
