Matt, I really appreciate your effort to share your learnings. I watched so many Joseph's DVD and went through books and this idea of shapes never struck me. Thanks for enlightening with your workshop experiences and your practices. The more I watch your videos, more I learn what I lack.. :)
Thank you so much! This information is invaluable . It caused the lightbulb to go on in my brain showing me where my biggest mistakes were! I always walk away from your videos and demos knowing more about painting watercolor. Thanks for the blessing
It's hard to really apply values to the painting when painting wet into wet, but I love what you're explaining and doing. Your paintings are beautiful full of light. Do you let the paper dry between layers? Any kind of explanation on values like for kindergartners. Thank you, gracias
Wow, this is powerful Matt! Thank you so much for doing this. As I look at your two paintings I'm thinking yep that's what I need More work on the values. I'm okay on them but I think I can do more. Thank you, thank you thank you Matt, I appreciate you
I always have time to spend with you, matt, i wish i could show you some of my paintings from your tutorials. Haha! But i still have lots to learned , just started to paint 2yrs now..Godbless u and your family, matt.
So Breakthrough#1... when he was creating this painting... did he use masking to retain the highlights or did he add those with gouache or acrylic later?
@@learntopaintwatercolor Thank you for your reply. I'm doing that too. I have started playing pickleball, and find my hand-eye coordination has improved. Too bad I didn't learn this earlier in life!
