Hey, I'm in class 12th arts. I originally did 11th science but couldn't handle the stress and personal issues, so I repeated 11th with arts. That's when I got interested in psychology. I wanted to be a psychiatrist but found out it requires an MBBS degree, so I decided to aim for clinical psychology instead. Now, I'm torn between psychology and hotel management. I love cooking and have skills in it, but I also enjoy giving advice and listening to people, which makes me think I'd be good at psychology. However, I'm worried about committing to a PhD in psychology because I'm an average student who can only study for about one to two hours a day. My grades are okay (76% in 10th, 87% initially in 11th, then 66% in final 11th exams). I understand some psychology theory but lack practical skills, while my cooking interest is strong but not deeply knowledgeable.I'm also concerned about the long time commitment for a PhD in psychology and the impact of AI on jobs. Hotel management is a shorter course (5-6 years), but I'm unsure about both paths. Can someone help me decide?
Hi mihir May be I can show you some facts. My elder took science after tenth and passed out. But later had interest in psychology so did her ba and ma in psychology from Pune. She is average student but has strong communication skill and dynamic personality. She did industrial psychology for ma. My friends son who has interest in hm. Took degree in hm from Pune bharati vidyapith and he got internship in canada. He went there, studied and also earned alot in six months. Both career are great but hard work is necessary. Does not matter whether you are average student. Go as per your instinct. In psychology career, you will get satisfaction but not alot money. But in hotel management you will definately earn more. Choose college who send there student out of country for internship. You have to spend money for going abroad but you will definitely earn more money. Hope this will help you
Wish you all the best Jahnavi! Could you please share the HSC psychology textbook details ? The books that you have used in the 11th n 12th Psychology lessons.
Love the value that you provide...I have completed business management and now I've pivoted as a Parenting coach and want to do child psychology and counseling for students.. what would you suggest? As a psychologist said nowadays there are many psychology courses and is not recognised and you need to do a RCI approved course...I'm so confused how do I do it to get a valid authentic certification for counseling

No three year degrees are accepted in US as they have a standard 4 year undergraduate degree and corresponding credits so no college US will accept 3 year degree you either have to compliment it with a 1 year post grad degree or a master's.
