I feel like theres also something generally left unsaid for lower ranks: your setup. I was down at 900 SR for some time and honestly it was simply because I played on a potato that could barely run the game at 20 fps with a membrane keyboard and some wireless shit mouse. I know throwing money at things isn't the solution but it does boost your performance by a lot just to have a steady 100+ fps and decent keyboard & mouse, literally ranked up to gold instantly when I upgraded my setup
I gotta yap real quick There have been too many games where I have to rotate Ana/Bap/Kiri because my second support is too lazy to put in effort trying to aim a little OR play a hero with better utility that isn't Mercy/Moira/LW. They have Ana/Hog or Mauga I either have to play Kiri for Ana OR swap to Ana to deny their tank space, then they pull out Pharah & I have to deal with her now because my dps needs the extra help in getting picks either on supports OR denying Pharah while my second support sits pretty. There's just too much of the same problems in nearly 60% of my matches, no one cares to learn basics when queueing comp, I've seen players with 1k hours who don't know when to swap or even counters when something isn't working. It's been like this for the past 2 seasons, went from 55% wr, G3 pushing into Plat a few times to 46% wr S1 nearly touching Bronze, I'm not the best player but at least I try to put in effort where it counts. Surely it's my fault asking for a simple change for something we NEED rather than what we WANT to play. Also the fact I get WAY more balanced games when I'm 3-5 stacked that are closer to G3-P4 compared to the mess that is solo queue is a major problem, either way I'm trying the Juno playtest for maybe 2 days & dropping this game for a month. I'm not even gonna get started on the sensitive toxicity that is this community & how abusable the report system is either.
Hard Agree! People who claim “ELO hell” isn’t real are people who just parrot higher ranking streamers. I am now a high diamond support, but I was a hardstuck gold for a while. I’ve found diamond being much easier due to the teammates I get actually wanting to improve & raise in ranks. They also are more likely to know what they’re doing. While I was in Gold, it didn’t matter what I did- if I didn’t have at least 1 other teammate pulling their weight then it was GG.
0:27 settings for me are confusing admitedy, i never adust setting as I dont play any other fps so it feels werid ngl. But I guess I should try to do so it will prbally helo me. also on xbox/ console
Settings come in insanely clutch, especially hero specific settings. Im a ps5 player that mostly plays mercy, and oh my god if it wasnt for hero settings id be cooked 10 times over. If you are in low ranks, experiment with settings, mid match if you have to. Itll help so much Theres also a ton of videos you can find that can help explain hero settings and such, use em!
ive been playing overwatch since literally the 2nd day of OW2, i have 300 hours total and 200 hours on comp, and im still stuck on bronze 3 on all roles, what do i do?

just play with it. Theyre in diamond just like you so obviously it works. But it clearly isnt going to work if you just give up. Also you're either exaggerating or lying because there are not that many dps moira and especially not in diamond. Those are the types of moiras that healbot and are stuck because they have no utility. Dps moiras are either in silver or masters/gm.

@@Lonely_dovea lot of healing doesn't always mean you're playing support to your maximum value. from this it sounds like you're heal botting teammates. take the game into YOUR hands, you're support not healer, you can frag important targets if you have to. i'm not saying this to discourage you, im saying this because that sounds like the problem you're having. trust me, heal up teammates quick and then take your damage and use it on that hitscan on the high ground.
I’m a mercy main, I recently was Silver 5 and went on the biggest loss streak ever. So now im in Bronze 3. I’ve watched mercy videos countless times and have applied it to my gameplay, and I’ve even had a VOD review with another mercy main who had a way higher rank than me. I truly feel that Mercy just really out of meta because before the DPS passive change i wasn’t really struggling that hard in ranked.
Hi GM 4 primary mercy main here! She’s really fucking hard in lower ranks as she’s so dependent on good dps and that’s not really a thing in lower ranks and if it is your other support isn’t healing enough so you can’t play her properly or in anyway that is actually beneficial to the team/overall game. The jump from gold-diamond is so dependent on good team based skills and knowing where to be and when and who to be beaming and when, my best advice is to find a solid team to play with you you can rely that they know what they’re doing and that it can enable her full kit! And also sometimes mercy just isn’t the pick, that was something that took me a while to learn as she’s who I wanted to play; sometimes your team simply needs more healing than mercy can do or more damage than she can do, I *strongly* recommend learning the base mechanics of characters such as bap,kiriko, or Ana as if mercy isn’t the pick and you need to swap you’ll know what to do!
Of course. He even said there’s top 500 people he’s coaching that he still has to teach COVER to, people under use cover so much and is the easiest way to go straight to diamond if you play 24/7
Unfortunately, with the way overwatch currently is, this video doesn't mean anything. It doesn't matter if you have a 60%+ winrate, you'll rank down anyway due to overwatch's broken ranked system so until they fix that ranking up simply is not possible.
@@buck7271 straight up just not how an elo system works and youre extrapolating out of context data. you may be at a 67% winrate but if youre de-ranking that means youve lost multiple games in succession recently. and you know it too this is just cope
@@buck7271that’s literally impossible. If your overall win rate is 63% then the trend for your rank is upward even if the last 10 games were all losses. Buuuut if the last 10 games were losses then you obviously ranked down bc your winrate for those last 10 games was literally ZERO PERCENT! So yeah. You can the original comment are coping hard
