Great video and fantastic looking cards. The A&G Birds of America with the Eagle and Elvis Presley cards were my favorites. Congrats on the returns and thanks for sharing.
Nice presentation, Dan. Love the Alvin York, Last Supper and Penny Farthing cards. The Liebig aviation and other historical cards are beautiful. What a great submission for you. Congrats!
Thanks so much Rob!! For some reason lately I started really liking the image of the early Aviation cards. You often get a beautiful skyline within the image.
Admittedly, I do not collect non-sports but never say never. Pretty cool & unique cards & beautiful. Favorite was the 1900 Hoffman America. Thought that was pretty awesome with the song on the back. Really enjoyed this Dan, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Doug! There are some really cool non-sports cards out there. I’m kinda changing up the way I collect and so now some of the cards I got back today will be sold. I’ll be selling a large chunk of my collection
Gave a video like - Catching up on my videos. Really enjoyed seeing the wide range of cards. The history of them and the artwork on them is so fun. Thanks for sharing, Dan
Very interesting returns! I think my favorite was the Dare Devils card, that artwork was sweet! You and some other channels have had me looking at more non-sport vintage cards at card shows! Thanks for sharing and keep on rocking!
Hey Doug! You why I like non-sports cards? It’s because I can find ways to relate to them more than most baseball cards. Don’t get me wrong, my love for vintage baseball cards runs deep! But, I can collect cards of musicians, celebrities, tv shows, action figures, military and a bunch of other topics that I already have a history with. That’s why I love non-sports cards. Glad you enjoyed the video and I’m super excited to see what non-sports cards you pick up in the future. Keep hunting the good stuff my friend 🫡
GREAT CARDS! Love the eagle... just ordered one myself to complete the pair. If you go through Boca Card subs, they can help escalate issues of cards not being graded. I've had to send items back through a few times. You can also slide a piece of paper into the card saver with research info.
Hey Zach! So that 1917 Baseball card was sent three different times. I sent in paperwork on the second and third time. Now that Collectors owns PSA I sent proof that PSA has graded the card which I think worked.
Such an awesome submission, Dan! That Liebig sports set is so cool, the bicycle and soccer cards in particular rule. I lost out on a couple of those Hoffman cards recently including the one you showed of Lady Liberty. Maybe next time! Really enjoyed this, buddy. That Louis Armstrong card might be my favorite of the submission!
Thanks Shane! If I get around to selling the Hoffman I’ll talk to you first! I had you in mind when I was showing that Soccer card! Glad you enjoyed the submission!
i think i remember Gary Cooper portraying Sgt York in the movie. of all the cards, that's the one i really liked! all those cards looked fantastic to me... seems like they graded lower than a sports card equivalent in quality... but that's just me, i'm not the grading type... thanks for sharing Dan!!!
Great return and really like the old school looking cards. I usually do not collect anything past baseball, but i do like the non sports in the older cards like this. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Steve! So my collection of non-sport cards all started with my purchase of an 1888 Allen & Ginter card of the State of Texas. I was hooked after that. Truthfully it’s all about the connection to the cards for me
So a guy at my church has a high bike like that and he can ride it. He told me they are called Penny Farthing. He also is very good at a unicycle. He tried getting me on it, but it’s a front break and I’m not falling off of it. Haha. Congrats on a great return, every card I’ve never seen before, love the last super card!
Just got an SGC sub back yesterday myself. I had a 2014 Mookie Betts Five Star RC Auto come back ungraded with my February order, but there were 2 graded by SGC on Ebay. They fixed it with my April order, though. Those high bicycles races would be crazy haha. Those things caused injuries left and right without being raced! Very cool Last Supper card especially and really enjoyed that old non-sports stuff!
Loved this submission, Dan! I dig those penny farthing cards - very cool! And what the heck happened with the Vogel Brothers card?!? They most definitely grade that card - send it back!
Hey Tom!! Yeah I’m not giving up on the Vogel brothers card. I emailed Brent at SGC and he told me they didn’t grade advertising cards, but then they turned around and graded the Penny Farthing trade card. Sounds like they are confused about things.
Great cards. Although these card are not part my collecting journey at his time I think they are great looking card and I can see why you collect them.
Hi Dave! I wasn’t a non-sport card collector and then one day I picked up a card of my home state of Texas. That’s all it took for me 😂 and what I love most about non-sport cards is the connection we can have with them
Yep I’m absolutely going to try again. My buddy Tom from Collector.not.hoarder has that card in an SGC slab. So I’m not going to give up on it just yet.
Thanks Brother I appreciate you checking this one out. I’m not giving up on that card yet. I’ll keep sending it in until it gets graded. Like I said in the video, the 1917 Baseball card was sent in three times until they finally graded it
Nice video! I dropped off my first submission to SGC at Strongsville. I just had the grades uploaded yesterday, so it is definitely a slower turnaround time right now.
@OlSargeCollects I don't know. I was thinking that maybe an influx like Strongsville would create a bit of a backlog for their operation. Hopefully they keep their turnaround time closer to historical pace and not slip closer to PSA.
