Hey, welcome back! I thought I'd come back to you with an update of how I'm getting on with my IPL a year down the line

I’m so pleased I came across this video. I’m on treatment 10 with really good results. I’m definitely going to put in my diary / calendar/ everywhere!! To remind me to do the monthly treatments

Thank you for the update! I’m going through a similar journey aka skipping my maintenance sessions. The hair is growing quite sparsely on my legs but I don’t really notice a difference on my armpits. Also I’ve been using sunglasses to protect my eyes too, I do look away from the light as much as I can but the added up protection is welcomed 😄

There is no need to wear goggles, the light that is visible to the eye (when the device makes full contact with your skin) is not damaging, but if you are still worried you can also wear regular sunglasses and make sure you are in a room with a lot of (natural) light, I did that before and after 2 sessions I didn't even bother anymore because it felt unnecessary.

Despite ipl not being a "permanent" solution to hair growth, it can have 80% permanent results for life if done right. The recommendation by Braun to use the device once a week is not what works for everyone. From my own research regarding other peoples experiences and my own experience with the device, you may need to use it every 3 days or so to achieve the results you want.

My hubby gave me welding goggles 😂 so I wear those. Also guilty of not keeping up with the maintenance, but you’ve inspired me to get back into it.

Ah I'm so glad! My hair is a mid brown, although I'm pretty pale so seems to be helping it to work fairly quickly! ☺️ x

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m hoping to have a somewhat permanent hair removal experience since my hair is so dark. I know it doesn’t promise permanent hair removal but fingers crossed. 🤞😊

I’m thinking of buying it but some reviews saying can’t be used in the Brazilian area and some saying can ! I’m confused would plz reply if you used it in this area thx

You can sure use it on the Brazilian area. If you are not sure, you can contact Braun and get a final answer from them but so iknow you can use it for your whole body really.

you CAN use it in this area. most companies who offer ipl products do not recommend it because the skin in this area is a little bit darker so it could be more painful and not as effective. I've heard from lots of people who use it in the brazilian area who have reached good results indeed, so I guess it depends. You can try it out tho :) and if it doesn't work you can still use it for your legs and other areas so it will still be worth it.

needed this review. I keep thinking braun is the way to go versus others out there. did you notice if it helped with any hyperpigmentation? I'm fair skinned too and hate those pesky spots on my legs

Hey, I don’t have any hyperpigmentation on the areas I used it on so can’t comment - however I’m not sure if they recommend using it on hyperpigmentation as the laser works by picking up the dark pigments in the areas you zap and breaking them down. Worth doing some research on, don’t take my word for it!!

How was ur hair after not maintaining?????? Did it grow up as it used to or was it a lot less? Im just wondering how permanent IPL really is!!! 😣😣😣

Does the device get hot? I have the Philips IPL and I can barely do one leg before having to let it cool down

Mine gets hot too. I do different sections twice a week, rather than legs, under arm and bikini in one go. I find it works better, and I just keep a written log. If I try everything, it’s way too hot.
