Flashing the GPU VBIOS is relatively "safe"; you have the option to install and configure TeamViewer or any preferred remote access software, allowing you to attempt the GPU flashing process once more if it fails. This is possible because even with a faulty or corrupted VBIOS, the GPU can still boot to Windows, unlike the motherboard flashing which renders it useless in case of failure. (Unless you use EEPROM programmer or BIOS flashback, which not all motherboards have).
i'd only mess with a bios if the card isn't functioning properly. otherwise it's not worth the risk. i've bricked a card even using the matching bios from techpowerup
I did this not too long ago for the first time. Flash took and everything looked good after rebooting. But when I went to re-enable the graphics driver I had artifacting. after another reboot I noticed the driver was disabled again, so I re-flashed back to the original bios and never did it again.
Hey bro so I have a gigabyte 3090 gaming oc and the bios update on their website F12 matches mine but when I try to update it say bios version doesn’t match when it does, how do I update it
you dont need a 2nd gpu to reflash a bad bios if you have a dual bios card. just boot with the good bios, then flip the bios switch while pc is on, then reflash a good bios
Hey brother you mentioned after completing the flash it’ll bring you back to cmd screen. Mine apparently completed flash but did not return me to cmd screen. I’d assume it’s ok to just refresh pc?
