I haven’t played the LOTR lcg, but I have played a ton of Arkham horror, and I highly recommend it. It is extremely thematic and each entry feels very different. If you haven’t tried it I would give it a shot. It’s also great now that they have done a revised edition because you only have to buy one corebox where as you used to have to purchase two just to get started deck building.

I totally agree that some scenarios have different "hardest player count"...1P vs 2P vs 4P. IMO, people saying in "global terms" that "1P is the hardest & 4P easiest" are flat wrong! There are many complicated factors. Can also depend on your playing buddies' competence...(both deck building / piloting). You can tell someone they are playing a "Mighty Avengers" deck, and they ditch the card by that name T1 to pay for something else... :( 1P tends to have less randomness happening from the villain etc and a hero has LESS (by the numbers) to do, But they are alone and have less versatility/adaptability to ANY given situation (1hand of 5 cards=5 chances of 'prob' full answer). Can quite often "status Lock" many villains, with only part of your turn's resources. In 4P, there is MORE to do. Though "someone" will usually have something towards the answer (4hands of 5 cards=20 chances of answer, but sometimes only 'partial' answers...see "Hinder X" Side Schemes), and you can call in another player to help if you get stricken by bad RND - which WILL happen more & more in 4P! Basically no way to "status lock" villains. Try getting 4 decks to "burst" down the 2nd stage of a villain at the same time. You also get fewer turns per cycle of the EncDeck which is then also producing more threat each turn sooner. Villains will get their' key items much more often, that nearly all come in off the 'boost effect' as well as the 'when revealed'. This fast EncDeck cycling hurts the Heroes with "Only discard" obligations more too! But helps those like Drax who WANT it Turn1!
