My Backyard Mini Ramp is Almost Finished! // Aggressive Inline Skating

I've been working on the mini ramp for a few months now, and finally got it to the point where I'm happy with it. The paint has cured and made the ramp slippery but grippy with no problems during the rain. New 2" coping and 3/4" decks were added last week to finish it off. Now it's time to skate!

36 and getting back to blading. I recently recieved new kneepads, but a helmet would be a good addition to give my girl a better feeling about doing crazy stuff. I keep following your stuff from germany. Keep up the good work. Really like your attitude!

Dude! That backside to mistrial is gnarly! I’d die if I tried that probably :P oh also FYI I’m getting a new helmet next week so you won’t have to cringe while I skate from now on. I’m back to blading after a 20 year break (stopped mid teens) and is great to see you raising the importance of wearing a helmet, even when I got skilled I always wore a helmet and even now mid 30s I wouldn’t think about putting blades on without one, am loving the vids and learning a lot from them as everything in late 90s was all self taught lol

Nice miniramp you builded there ! Peace from Germany, i got myself the THEM SKATES 909 WHITE - 2022" INTUITION DANNY BEER (Them Liner - V4) I must say that a Video by one of the designers saved me bigtime, my feet are like 26,5cm - 26,6cm, i ordered the SIZE SMALL 7 - 7.5 US / 25 - 25.5 cm. Then i went to a Ski Shop and they heated them up for 10min with a ski boot heater, i got 2 toecaps (thats like + 0,5cm on my feetlenght). He said "better go 1cm below and work that liner in with some heat/or over time by skating" Can skate all day long, my legs getting tired befor my feet start hurting :´) Keep up thoose great videos

Maybe a few coats of laquer (spray not with a brush) might help stop the paint getting scraped off. i dont know if it would make it really slippy though. just a thought. good session. all the best.

This series is fantastic, I'm about to start building my mini ramp and I've been following this closely, defo gonna make mine wider and I'll go higher, last one i made years ago was 5ft tall. Luckily I'm a joiner so i have the tools and lots of material to get it done. Once the weather gets good I'll make a start. Keep the videos coming, good inspiration 🕺

The ramp looks great and sounds great. Should put a 6 foot quarter on the side against the fence. And a flat deck with a grind box or grind rail on the side Think you can land a true top soyale on the coping. Or maybe a true fishbrain. I never could land tru topside tricks and always thought skaters were really good if they could, this was in 1999 so you will remember not many people could land true spin topsides.

@backtoblading Lay a synthetic decking material along the coping on top, just cut a channel out. Then along the coping on the face, use a I high wear and tear clear topcoat. Great work sir. The ramp even sounds better with that additional layer of wood 😉

There’s a good progression for that one. Backside to miszou is pretty simple. Backside to mistrial is just a bit more. You got this!

Hey Law great video! I just ordered the 50/50 balance frames and going to try them on the New Razor SL henderson pro skate when they come in! Very excited because I tried anti rocker in the past and injured myself first day of trying it. Hoping I have a different experience this time with the juice blocks!

new sub here, getting my first pair of skates in ten years delivered tomorrow ( team nj pros). they were gifts as i cant afford to get anything that nice as im in school full time which was super cool but i dont have a helmet and wont be able to afford a decent one for a while (50 + dollars is a big deal to spend on something for me atm). it would be cool to be picked but either way great vids and keep up the content. it really is an inspiration for us who have been away for sometime and are just getting back in it!

I'd like a helmet. Love the channel, literally old school skater from the mid-90's and early 00's, pushing 40 and trying to get back into skating too, so totally identify lol. Thrilled you brought back 50/50 also, would love to see the frames in the color blue.

Great video, I think the helmet thing is great. I always wear a helmet, especially after seeing some pretty nasty head injuries. also modern helmets you barely notice youre wearing one.

I see you’re in Durham. I’m a few hours away I’m Statesville. Been skating since about ‘93. Aggressive since about ‘97. Been out of it for about a decade. I’m getting back into it now. Just picked up a pair of valos and been trying to get my leg strength back up. I’ve been watching your videos a lot lately. Maybe we can meet up some time.

Law i have ur answer for the scraping. Buy these strips threshhold strips and nail them down. Its what you use when you have one room eith carpet an the nect one vinyl or tile. If you need a picture let me know.

I have blueprints for a mini ramp printed out but I’m too nervous to start it because I’m afraid of messing it up.

I would recommend you consider building the ramp height up more. It looks very limiting with the slope being too shallow and too short to build and maintain sufficient speed. You are already outgrowing it. The entire ramp should be the height of your extension. This will create more speed and loft for airs. You should be able to pump, click your wheels off the coping, and maintain several feet above it just from a single drop in. By doing airs like this higher and higher in succession you should be able to get higher and higher above the coping. The transition may feel safe as it but is very limiting.

How do you feel about the 2 inch pvc compared to the 1.5 inch? I have 1.5 and am considering changing it. Also, never wax pvc, it slides crazy. I have shot of my ramp. Lastly, your helmet giveaway is awesome. I agree with you, everyone should where a helmet, even simple skating can go really wrong with one stupid fall. I don't need a helmet, just like what you are doing.
