My Betta Fish DIED! (Fish Tank Update)

I don't know if your gonna see this but, i have a betta in a 3.5 gallon tank and my dad let me get a 5 gallon tank. I've only had my betta for 3 weeks. I've done a lot of research but i don't know if i should move my fish. My plan is to use all the gravel, plants, and decor to the bigger tank and use all of most the water in his current tank. Should I do this? Should I wait or just go for it?
