The secret to understanding His HolyWord is reading it slowly, one word at a time, meditating on each verse. Yes, it has a carnal meaning but it also has a spiritual meaning and THAT is the meaning you want to seek, Spiritual. So, eat slowly and trust the Holy Spirit to unseal the scrolls of interpretation.🙏 And by all means study Proverbs daily. Proverbs is a book of parables to help unseal the rest of the parables in the Bible.🙌
My advice, start a long bible study on end times. It was SO much fun, a little scary, but also took me through almost every book in the bible for different reasons. Really energized me!
I have been so blessed by these videos, i've grown and learned so much by hearing pastor john's answers for so many important questions, but i really think It would be so better If we could Just see him when he speaks. I believe It would attract more people too.
This is me. I have been a Christian since 1995. I was even called into the ministry for a bit. I have read the Bible numerous times in various translations. Even when I was a new convert I never got anything out of reading the Bible other than how much of a failure I am. I know it SHOULDN'T be that way, but it is.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.“ Philippians 4:6 NLT I wonder- If the devil knew that every-time you were worried that you would pray, would he stop making you worried.
Whenever I try to make bible reading a habit, it feels flat for me too. like I pray for guidance, for interpretation, etc, and it just doesn't come, He is not under my command after all. But when I do read the bible it's sporadic, and it's like I get led somewhere through a whirlwind of passages I don't even know how they connect before actually reading all of them, then they click into place and things make sense that never made sense before. But it's only when He decides, if I try to make some rigid rule like "no bible, no breakfast" He just lets me fumble in the dark on my own. It's kind of frustrating. I have to let Him lead.. and... He doesn't lead me every day, no matter my prayers.. and the reason why? Because I tried to do those "no bible, no breakfast" RELIGIOUS rules, it's because of something some pastor said, like Ray Comfort, or John Piper, I'm following those men, not Christ when I try to practice RELIGION. But when He leads? It's time spent with God, following Him, and not a man, and it's not a religion, it's a relationship, and then I am not frustrated.

It's strange how the different translations present text. I'm reading the NASB 95 version, and proverbs 22:20 says "Have I not written to you excellent things" there's no mention of an amount, let alone 30 things. I wonder how the translation could be so different that one has a numerical value and the other has no mention of it. It seems impossible that one could read old manuscripts and translate a specific numeric value, and another not. Also mine has "apply your MIND to my knowledge" not heart. I worry about this sometimes, whether or not some of these translations have been perverted.
