Hey guys thanks for watching the video. I kept adding more and more to this video and eventually I had to stop myself otherwise I would of never got the video finished but I hope you guys enjoyed it. Leave me a comment below if there is any topic you'd like me to discuss in relation to Religion. Cheers.

Easy side quests are to: recover / steal, a missing / stolen / lost artifact for a small local church / temple. Success can grant reduced fees for services, as well as notice by hierarchy of a religion (the Bishop takes notice of you) as well as the competing religion noticing you too, causing all sorts of interesting possibilities. Of course if there is a multi part recovery, it could turn into a main quest as well. I recently watched a great old classic B grade movie - "The Long Ships". Great campaign idea.

Excellent as always, Loki. Side note: before TTRPGs, my channel was mostly a blog for theology and philosophy. So I'm kind of a nerd for this sort of stuff. Real world religions, heresies, schisms, and the like are great references for how to organically bring religious conflict to your games. I'm also a fan of monotheistic settings, and do include a "True God" but keep it mysterious since conflict arises from, for example, a Cleric's abilities being on par with a Druid's. Both are powerful, so this contest of power obviously does not prove either side. And I've had actual religious debates break out over stuff like this. I've never let on and never will. Even in my notes, that is a secret on who is correct..... because it's me. Neither are correct.

Good stuff, during the video i literally had the thought on warning a aaintbtitle being while defending(should they chose to defend) a village under siege the locals are praying to the god for help and offering spells to it, and the god then passes it off to the hero if they are fighting and in danger of death in service of defending the village. Both an active act and then the player character would be considered blessed, maybe picks up a spell they can use without prep once a day so long as still in good favor if that god

Interesting video. 😊 A few thoughts: 1. In the real world, most people who have been sainted had to be dead first, often they died horrible, miserable deaths whose descriptions will make you wince and shutter. Seems to me if a PC cleric is willing to die a horrible death for their diety and faith, that could be a very cool apotheosis to finish a campaign with, and the players would tell that story for years... 2. Look at how DCC RPG handles a cleric's duties and responsibilities. A cleric can get in trouble with their diety by, say for healing someone of an opposed alignment, for example. 3. Anyone who expresses dissatisfaction with the 5e warlock class should take a look at the Wizard from DCC RPG.

The setting I am planning my next campaign in has a character who dies before the campaign starts and became the avatar/rebirth of a deity to fight off a massive orcish invasion led by their own divine avatar. The kicker is that the deity which resurrected her is basically their version of Satan. It didn't go over universally well.

This is very cool, good luck with your game! Hopefully the party can deal with the fallout of that orcish invasion.

Great video and could not agree more particularly the Warlock patrons, they should be more active and directly interacting with their servants. Creates alot of interesting ideas too for the pc to exoerince, boons gained and tons of roleplay and even internal party rp.

The Warlock Patron framework was copied into Tasha's Cauldron of Everything as "Party Patrons". I consider each character as a patron opportunity, should the player be willing. They may even want to help create the NPC and establish what they're like! Clerics and Paladins can have a Patron in their Clergy. Fighters and Barbarians can have a Patron as their mentor who taught them to fight. Rogues with a Patron in the Thieves Guild, Druids/Rangers with a Patron with who taught them natural magic, Wizards/Sorcerers with a teacher or in an arcane academy, etcetera. A patron video would be great to compliment this video, is good

Minor gods. I think that would be a great topic for a video. I recently discovered the Petty Gods supplement (it's massive, free, community-made resource) it helped me a lot on expanding my idea of what a god can be.

What kind of pie do you think gods prefer?
@Reerrzhaz
@Reerrzhaz 9 месяцев назад
Well see that's an interesting thought, deities like gods Kelemvor / Cyric, do they still have physical forms or human-like desires? Would they even be inclined to pie the same way we are? They are powerful beings associated with some pretty abstract concepts so they might not have any interest in pleasures of taste. Of course we could just throw all that nonsense out the window and say that Kelemvor likes pumpkin pie, and cyric probably likes apple pie. which is more on-brand for D&D shenanigans.

Not sure where that map got the idea that the Baltic States were ever Greek Orthodox 🤣

Ah, you bought into the false narrative about the Crusades, eh? I'd recommend reading a little more legitimate history.
