How are you so calm when talking about books, if i did it it'd go something like this: So the next book is *lifts up book* this book, this book *fangirling squealing and grunting noise* yes
I discovered A Darker Shade of Magic only because of you! I'm using this early notification squad moment to thank you, what would my life look like without knowing of Kell and Lila?
WHICH BOOKSTORE FOR ALL THE CROOKED SAINTS?? Also I LOVE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE! Both us and uk editions are so beautiful LOOOOL an enchantment of Ravens haha WE’RE TWINNING I GOT SO MANY BOOKS AND FROM BOOK OUTLET TOO Congrats on your first curated box Hannah!!:)
brandonthebookaddict I forget what it’s called!! I’ll figure it out and let you know. also I miss you a lot and we need to hang out again soon. Okay? Okay.
I really liked the Crown's Game. Very magical! Books I am excited to read: The Bear and the Nightingale, Night of Cake & Puppets, and The Astonishing Color of After. Great video!
I Capture the Castle is my all time favorite!! I have a first edition from 1948. It took me forever to find just a paperback copy at first. I got the last one they had at the store before. I want the edition you showed now! It's a good movie too. Great cast.
The Female of the Species had my HEART. I'm not a huge contemporary fan, but that book is amazing. I don't think this book is one of those novels that people say "oh, it's good for a YA." I think it's good BECAUSE it's YA. It manages to convey adult themes and messages in a format that makes sense for teenagers and speaks volumes in a way that an adult book couldn't. The way that the teenage characters view sexuality and rape culture is through an accurate lens and it really can bend perspectives and opinions. It's in my top ten books , for sure.
Ender's game is a fantastic sci-fi. It's a refreshing story about a kid with amazing military capabilities, great plot twist, and character arcs. The author has spin offs of other characters from the book.
This is such an incredible book haul. You have so many haha. You'll need another bookshelf just for them!! 10 Things I Can See From Here has been on my radar I don't know why I haven't picked it up yet !!
I'm thinking of reading All The Crooked Saints after I read the Raven Cycle. I finished the first book on the 7th of this month and I'm still super emotional.
I have both Strange The Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares and read them both in a day. Having the audiobook as well as the physical book may have helped. I didn't really start to like the story until Lzlo met Sarai before I found it interesting if not a little boring. I think I ended up reading Muse of Nightmares in around 3 maybe 4 hours. Thank you for recommending The Night Circus, Children of Blood and Bone, The Hazel Wood, Strange The Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares. I greatly enjoyed all of them.
I've seen the play and movie of "I Capture the Castle"...I love the story, and you've reminded me that I have yet to read the book! So that's definitely on my list now...along with probably "The Bear and the Nightingale" because that sounds great
love these hauls looks like the amount of books i have! Must not buy anymore but oh wait i just did from amazon i have a problem i want to read american drifter!
The Bear and the nightingale is really good, i finished it about a week ago. I wouldn't really say it's like The Night Circus it's a little more like Uprooted. (but better imo, it's what i wanted Uprooted to be.) It's based on Russian folklore and has the same atmospheric feel that both The Night Circus and Uprooted had, just more mythical and Wintry.
I just finished The Bear and the Nightingale and i LOVED IT I could put it down and can’t wait to read the next one. I have both UK and US covers but can’t decide which series has the best covers any suggestions 😅
I ADORE Chad Michael Murray. Been wanting to rewatch the One Tree Hill series actually. Can't believe he's written a book! It Sounds great. Looking forward to your review in it. Gosh I LOVED Milk & Honey. Look forward to her new book too. Laini Taylor's writing is so majestic. What a disappointment about The enchantment of ravens!
My parents got me Everything, everything for Christmas and I can see it under the tree and OH MY GOD I JUST WANT TO READ IT NOW😭 I keep just holding it in the wrapping paper and looking at it in longing, I can't wait to read it😂 I can also see both the illustrated philosophers stone and prisoner of Azkaban (I already have the chamber of secrets) and I can't stand it! I NEED THEM NOW😂😂 Wish me luck surviving the next week in the presence of these books without the ability to read them😂 Thanks for making videos, you're amazing
OMG! The Queen of the Tearling is seriously one of the best trilogies ever! It has so many feminist badass themes and is just soooo damn awesome. Also The Female of the Species is so good. When I read it I wasn’t really expecting what the book really was about. The message is really important and the story is kinda crazy but I loved it.
If you are interested in retellings and Peter Pan, I higly recommend you the book Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson, I love this book so much but no one knows about it
People who love shopping for books online should try ThriftBooks! They sell used books for really cheap (usually for around $4) and they also have free shipping in the US after $10! I buy most of my books here and have for years, I’ve only been disappointed a few times by the condition, they’re really great!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Nathaniel Luscombe I loved the book and the companion series based on earth about Bean. That's why I probably hated the movie, they messed up Bean's story and character so badly, It's nothing like the book. I really like Card's writing but the whole time I'm reading I feel like I should, as a girl, be super offended or something. His writing is so absorbing, but his female characters are sooooo frustrating. But I do agree that as a person Card isn't that great. Such a long comment, sorry
Hi Hannah ! Just wanted to let you know that I love your videos, I kind of binge watch all of them ^^. You're one of my favorite booktubers. I feel so lucky to have found booktube and you. You make me want to begin a Booktube channel, who knows, maybe soon :) Watching your videos relax me in a way and I love your personality. And I can't tell you how many books are on my TBR because of you, there's so many ! I hope you are well and wish you all the best. Happy Holidays !
I love the Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan. Just a heads up on the "From the Two Rivers." Its the first half of the first book in the series "Eye of the World". The second half is "To the Blight". Jordans books are all huge and very descriptive. Since they started splitting the books into smaller runs I know quite a few people have been picking up the other books and missing big chunks of the story. They're great fantasy reads.
Hannah, have you read the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson? I'm wondering since you received Edgedancer, which is nr 2.5 in the series. The books are massive but totally worth it!
I just talked about 10 Things I Can See From Here in my latest video! I'm going to be reading it over Christmas break and also really want to read it because it deals with anxiety
Did you ever read a series of unfortunate events and what did you think of them?? It’s my absolute favourite series ever and contains some of my all time favourites and I want to find out what you thought of it
Can you review 'Call me by your name'? I am so eager to watch the movie, but it is not available to me right now. So I listened the audiobook and bought the book a couple days ago. If you can review it, it would be awesome.
Hei Hannah, It's really great so see so excited and happy about your books. Video made my evening end to nicely :). Also I hope you had a successfull and enjoyable semester! I highly expect you to love 'A night of cake and puppets'. I already read it twice and it is soo wonderful and magic and just as sweet as a piece of chocolate cake ❤ Everytime I see a Book Outlet haul I am soo sad that I can't order from them. The shipping costs to Germany are not bareable at all... once put books in my cart for appr. 50$ and it would have been 120 freaking $ for shipping :( Best wishes and a very wonderfol Christmas time with your family!
Someone pls answer, do I have to have read the Smoke and Bone series to understand/enjoy Night of Cake and Puppets? I’m really not a fan of reading trilogies but I love the cover and title of that book. Thanks :)
Yes it is! In Austentations we just read classics and in Fiction Faction we mainly read new releases. We created Fiction Faction when Joce was on a break from BookTube which is why she isn't in it
Yamonna Han You have to read the first three books of the mortal instruments, then you can read the internal devices and lastly you read the three final books of tmi. I mean: city of bones, city of ashes, city of glass, clockwork angel, clockwork prince, clockwork princess, city of fallen angels, city of lost souls and city of heavenly fire.
