Is it possible to use the effects loop of the ir2 with modulation pedals (reverb, delay, and chorus, EQ) and the loop switcher together? For example what if I made channel 1 on the loop switcher the nice clean tone from the IR 2, but then I wanted channel 2 to be that same clean tone but with reverb, delay, and chorus added. Can I set this all up to work like that or is that a bridge too far?
That is a little too much for it, the loop will always be on if something is plugged in. However, with midi you could do that if the effects in the ir loop were midi controllable. Which actually is a pretty darn good idea.
So, help me understand. Is this JUST switching back and forth? Could I for instance save an amp sound with effects A, B, and C, and then switch to a sound that is the SAME amp sound with effects A, B, C?
The ES can send lots of info with just one button press. So it’s switching between states for the amp, but also can change the effects and order of effects really easily. So yeah, it can do what you are asking about. Great combo.
@@DoubleDguitar so heres another question, if I was treating this like an amp, would I put it in one of the ES-8 loops, or after the ES-8 like you would with a regular amp?
@@EricFoster well, I use the V-loop and 4cm (5 actually because stereo) so it is in my V-Loop and in the position of my chain between comp, drives etc (front end pedals) and the time based effects like reverb, certain mods and delays. The ES8 has some really nice routing options.
All are welcome here and I’m glad you found the channel. I always try to approach from a beginner method, in order to try to explain my steps. The IR2 is insanely good sounding! I can’t wait to get into swapping some IRs with it.
I have gigged the ES8 for a number of years and am pretty familiar with what it does. This was a little quirky to make work, so I figured I would make the video to help explain it. Thanks for watching, my man 🤘🏻
So technology is actually moving away from simplicity overall which is what most players don't want going back to an amp is actually simpler! I personally think these modelers still sound very sterile some are decent but overall
This one is sounding really nice to me, but I know what you mean. If you want to hear it with a nice set of IRs, check out the video the Studio Rats just put out with Lee using OwnHammer Irs and it really makes this pedal sound next level.
