That is absolutely beautiful there sir. I just bought a 96 r1100rt 2 weeks ago. The red one. I love it. I'm going to upgrade the exhaust and fuel system. Maybe lower it just a hair. It rides great. I'm 6'4 so I need to figure out how to adjust the seat back a hair and mine didn't come with the rear trunk. Great work on the restoration though.
I've never had any problem with the neutral light. However after 28 years the low fuel light has become random. Probably a bad connection. The actual fuel gauge is fine. The only important thing that has outright failed is the insulation on the part of the wiring to the Hall-effect sensor that is exposed to engine heat, shorting the sensor out.
@@MarkoMarcello my 1995 R1100RT (owned from new) has never had a radio, speakers, or antenna. I love the compartment. Perfect for transporting McDs and a large shake/coke can stand up in there just fine and won't fall over if you put the paper bag with the food in front of it.
@@BruceHoult Great. My 1999 has two el. jacks in compartment, no radio (bought used) and also use it like you for goodies or for some small tools. Switched long antenna for a small stubby one. You really got me with this interesting info regarding antenna, radio and speakers for 95. I did install a radio once but since it drained my battery when it was on during the night, I just went back to using compartment for goods. Would be great if @Twin-Nick ru-vid.com/show-UCbYPY_G8luyJuDc7937ritA gave us feedback.
@@MarkoMarcello I believe the radio was an extra cost option in 95. I don't even listen to music on long car drives. Maybe if I was in a lot of traffic or something, but I do most of my long distance stuff (e.g. 880 km, one fuel stop, to visit my parents) on fairly twisty back roads with little traffic and fewer cops. It's s a kind of meditation.
@@BruceHoult My '02 R1150RT has the radio in. Had the bike for 9 years now but was a little dissapointed it has no spare compartment in the fairing. I came from a K100LT, had the radio in the left and spare compartment on the right. So when I picked up the R1150RT and found out it only had one compartnent in it, which the radio was in, I was a little pissed lol I left the radio and but you dont realize how handy they are when you have one then you dont lol
I took the key out of the side pannier when it was open by putting it in the lock position (I think!) but now I can't close the case because the lock is in the locked position and I can't unlock it!!!
