Just tried it out. It made me feel ill. Every girl was holding a glass of wine and talking about traveling and living their "best life". I have never seen so many incredibly materialistic and vapid people in one place in my entire life and I HAVE traveled all over the world. Couldn't look at it anymore.
I think it might be partly the algorithm showing you the same types of women, if you clicked like on some of them initially. I was only shown adrenaline junkie engineers, quite literally 90% of the men I was shown were engineers with photos of them climbing mountains, bungee jumping etc. I don't want to bungee jump around the world myself, I'd like an introverted partner like me so I deleted it as it felt depressing.
Haha majority of the girls on dating sites tend be like this. Or they’re avid drug users. Inorganically formed relationships tend to have issues like this.
Blame social media and media brainwashing for that. Remember that by nature, young women in general are naive, easily influenced and easily lead, meaning they’re extremely easy to brainwash. Society knows this very well and has done exactly that. So now every girl wants to live life like an instagram celebrity. Even if theyre nowhere close. Their delusion doesnt care. Simping men also facilitate this this nonsense belief by splashing money & attention on these girls out of desperation, because said men often cant get regular sexual access because outside of their finances theyre undesirable to women. The result: every woman thinks she’s beyonce, and has a wine glass in her hand, on a yatch in some super exotic location. Ego is inflated. And she thinks she’s a queen… even though she’s a 4 without makeup and almost 200lbs 🤣 The trick to being successful with hinge or tinder is to be such an experienced man with women that you KNOW that those types of women are NOT the ones you should ever pursue, and that *they are the true low quality ones.* Yes even if their bodys bangin and theyre a 10 in the face. If they are showing any signs of materialism, lavish lifestyle, promiscuity, lack of modesty. Then those are 100% low quality women. And should be ignored. A man whose experienced with multiple women/female behaviour does this easily, and pursues the opposite. Because he knows this well through experience. But a man whose never been able to get girls in his life will pursue these types of women thinking this is these are the kinds of girls he wants cos their hot. Little does he know theyre cancer. But he will find out. Long story short. If you want to be successful on hinge and find someone decent. Ignore the 70% of girls that are showing blatant materialistic qualities. And pursue the 30% who dont show those traits. If youre a man who knows how to vet women propperly, a low quality woman can NEVER enter your space. Its very simple.
I’m SO over ppl not wanting to meet, I have figured out a lot of guys (same as many women) like the validation of the match but there’s no follow through or they’re freaked out that someone doesn’t want to text for three weeks before having a call or meeting up…. Wth?!? This landscape is insane 😂 Also, the algorithms are REALLY off!!! Hinge keep suggesting ppl the OPPOSITE of what I’m looking for 😂😂😂😂
It's probably less the validation and more like those guys matching u are playing the numbers game and trying to put out many likes I would guess females do the same too so don't think it's unfair lol
It shows you the people it thinks you can get which for men and women is much lower quality than who they think they deserve lol. The key to successful dating is settling, like in the old days but no one wants to do that lol. Men can also get ripped, learn “game,” get rich, etc. but most of them also don’t wanna do that because it’s hard
@@live688 she's prob also only matching with top-tier men who have alot of options too. I'm someone who gets alot of matches/likes (100+/month) and I only go for the women who look the best if I get mult messages. Like If I have 3-5 girls interested in meeting up on a free day I have, I go for the best looking one. But a guy without alot of options will go for any girl since he doesn't have variety.. beggars cant be choosers lol.
I feel like if you miss the old school way, you can just keep doing it the old school way. No one is forcing you to download the app, just take your time no rush
@Bryan Jun Bruh, ngl. I'm Army and have been bounced around the world in the last two years. Best experience I had was getting out and meeting people or trying to at least. Conventions, festivals, etc. It's not an every weekend thing sadly, but I try to stay cheap and do things to meet people when I can. Sometimes you gotta just take the L and stay inside and treat yourself though. I only keep Hinge because maybe 20% of the time it'll work. I've actually had a date but it's hit or miss on the person. Overall, shits toxic af on both gender sides.
I remember not too long ago watching a video by Ali Abdaal talking about some of the dating app options and he mentioned hinge being the best one, not sure if he was sponsored by them at the time but he did mention in the video that no matter what app you use, you should use the paid option if you’re serious about dating. In that sense I do kind of see it as you would most things like a course or a subscription service, if you weren’t serious or didn’t seriously want it you wouldn’t pay no matter what. Anyways, I decided to give it a shot without paying and maybe because of where I live I didn’t really get a lot of suggestions, let’s not even talk about likes/matches lol. Anyways it just all reminded me that like you said, they are a business and they want you to spend money. Currently, that’s just not for me. If that means being single a bit longer that’s fine, I’ve been single quite some time now and rushing things never really goes well.
I think just take your time and get to know people in real life, don't go rushing for a relationship, make friends first then if it leads anywhere further well that's a timing thing at the end of the day
The problem nowadays, everybody is glued to their cellphones, even if you meet a girl in RL she will ask you for your social media account to check you out. Weird world.
Does feel like a rough dating scene and I agree with a lot of your takes. It is unfortunate since I almost feel like the same with you as like man... the traditional values seem far gone and we're probably gonna be single till we're 30 or worse... and for me the type of person I'd even want to be with wouldn't be on a dating app... (i.e it feels like most girls have photos/vids of them at raves/clubs/fancy dinners eating out with groupies/etc) and its like... man... that's totally not my style and I find it hard to match that energy... yet its like the ultimate paradox as people who are more to themselves/introverted/shy wouldn't even venture out on these kind of apps to begin with as they'd welcome unwanted comments and such and thus its a self conflicting prophecy on how to meet people with similar values/interests. I wish there was an app for that haha - but dating apps just don't feel catered to those not as extravagant in their lifestyles at all for sure. And I wonder if its the asian-ness or the societal pressures that make me feel like I absolutely need to have found the one in my mid 20s now... but it is rough out there for sure as someone who is also more introverted and just wants an enjoyable but quieter life.. (Sorry /endrant)
Adapt or get left behind. It’s a sad reality. We live in an ever-changing world we’re people don’t meet like our baby boomer/gen x parents did. Best of luck.
@@Jamieka Yup same here, dating apps and social media ruined my chances. People think cause I look decent im automatically in a relationship but said part is its been years 😂
I think online dating is what you make of it. It's definitely been a fun way to meet people, but I'm also looking for something serious at this point and I don't think Hinge is the best place for that.
no it isn't. Most guys dont get matches to begin with so they're always having to "settle" for anything they can get. And even for women who have unlimited options, all the men they want who're in the top 20% of men also have unlimited options so they aren't looking to settle down. Unless you're looking for hookups or don't mind settling, dating apps aren't good.
My issue with it, is similar to your first point, but also, because of the first point, the standards are unrealistically high or uneven, either between you, or the potential match, and sooo.......its essentially just like any other dating app Lol except the only difference is, you can easily delete it once you find a compatible match, which would be great, if they didn't make the "League Range" so far distant from where you currently are in life, by comparison to other potentials, my situation is one that is subpar due to psychological/physiological health conditions, and financial limitations, i realize and understand that i have to self improve, but it can be very difficult when you have a clusterfuck trauma induced neurological problems that can lead to self sabotage, and let me tell you, there is absolutely no quick or easy fix in the form of meds or therapy for that! ( fuck what they say, its bull) all i know is, i am lonely as hell, and have no experience in relationships all thanks to the strict adherence to abstinence from the Ex cult i was unfortunately indoctrinated into at an early age, so i guess i am screwed. I am 28 going on 30 now, there is really no dating app that can fix this for me, i guess some guys are born with shitty luck, i would look for compassion and understanding, but thats just to much to ask for these days.
Yeah honestly bro, forget about dating until all that stuff is unpacked and first sorted. They’ll do you no good whatsoever. Soz to hear that though. All the best
my experience was I dated a few girls. Just no chemistry on most of them. For me its a lot of time and money. Dating is like another job. Even if you match with a hot chick doesn't mean you'll have her forever. 1 2 dates ghost.
You dont want the hot ones anyway. Theyre the worst for obvious reasons. The humble 5’s 6’s & 7’s are where its at. If you know. You know. For the ones that dont, headache, disrespect, stress & heartbreak from those 10’s will teach them.
@@JEFFMAN90 You aint missing out. Literally the only good thing was showing pics to your friends going "Dude I matched, we're going on a second date." Yeah and that's the extent of happiness you get from it
To me works the same way, it's hard to find someone real without much ego, playing to be cool it's over at some point of life when you want to meet a person and set real expectations.
I'd agree, but some people just need companionship as a lifeline, or they will drown in miserable loneliness. I have some online friends, but due to my lifelong struggle with severe social anxiety, and avoidant detachment, i can't meet people in person so comfortably. These kinds of Apps almost never factor in the psychological condition your in, so it all just makes it fit only within the societal expectations of almost cookie cut ideal people, as an upfront algorithm, making you awkwardly and depressingly self aware, that you are out of leauge with most. I know that your problem with things like this, is shallow dishonesty, but mine is broken dishonesty, people are just too afraid these days to admit they have issues, and so all we ever get is superficial surface level status oriented personas. So much for actual love lmao.
As a guy, I average 1 match per day, with girls I could actually like also in real life. The point is that, after the first two sentences, they always ghost me!It's happened more than 20 times in a row! But in real life people like talking to me, so what is this all about? Jesus
I'm honestly considering online dating, I know the population on dating apps is like 1 girl for 5 guys. But out in public when ever I go to events and bars everyone who goes is a couple or in a relationship. Dating apps seem like a better choice simply because for the most part everyone has a similar goal. Some might go for attention and some might not even be real but if I do talk to 2 people at least one of them will have the same goal as me.
Also my smoking hot professor found her husband in dating apps and a person who goes to the same class as me, so like 2 people who I see often that found a person on a dating app just gave me optimism. My professor is smoking hot hubba hubba type and the person I know was just cute, so I feel like I got good odds
@@silent_march8130 dude I’m the type of person who takes months to really make a decision on stuff like this, even tho physically and monitarily im not losing anything, I know the mental strain gonna hit me hard. Butt not yet 🤭, gonna get on it real soon tho. My choice of app will be hinge tho
@@xxxxxxxx9165 okay deadass, the day after I made that reply to that one guy, I slid into a gals DM and we went on a couple dates but it ended up not working so this time I might actually do the dating sites LMAO
Usually these dating apps have “boosts” which the algorithm favors them for 30 minutes and they go back the bottom stack of the pile. It’s not worth even downloading them.
The problem is that the amount of people who are on these apps for the "good reason" is so low that the odds of finding a match for a real relationship is almost impossible... Society is sick man!
I remember setingt up my sister on plenty of fish years ago, withing seconds she had 10 messages from different guys. It takes us men about 2weeks to receive that amount of messages.
Man I had good conversations, went on a few dates. But then my dates flaked on me, they made lame excuses e.g. I'm ill, or I'm not looking to date right now. This was obvious that the girls were dating other guys, and I was one of many guys who was probably on standby.
I use the app for free so if I want to see if there’s anyone besides those random 5 that liked or is interested, I have to match with them or X them and wait few days to see new ones 💀 they purposely do that so you purchase their subscription thing. I deleted app shortly after cuz it’s pointless if you don’t get to see anyone at all.
yeah it seems like if i even match with a girl she has so many dudes already talking with them that they end up never responding even when they send the first msg, because im just 1 of hundreds of other dudes at the bottom of the pile since i dont pay for the premium shit. it just doesnt work lol, best way to meet women is to get a job with a positive women vs men ratio. Like nursing or something
Dating apps are annoying I used 6+ different apps so far and they all have one similarly they want to make money and that's about it. It's not about the user experience it's all about making money. It's not working for men and it's also not ideal for women, even tho by design and user base it works a bit better for them.
Hinge is the only one worth using. It works well. But you cant sleep on the self improvement and expect good results. If youre not facially attractive. Good physique. decent height & well dressed. Forget it.
Excellent video. The problem is that I prefer meeting in person, but It feels like a weird thing to go and talk to a girl in person that you liked. It is for sure destroying the nature way of meeting people in person.
Men want sex and Women want an ego boost plus inatagram followers. Online dating is so broken. But don't give up there's always someone who is serious, only bad thing is that you have to drop your expectations all the way to the bottom
It’s incredibly glitchy. Full of bugs. I’m not overly impressed. All the apps have gotten harder for guys. I was a sex addict and used to get a lot of action on the apps but half of it is pay-walled now. All the algorithms have changed and it’s a different beast to navigate. We’re all in the same boat so, best of luck my dudes.
Can't believe how far this app has fallen. It used to be one of, if not the best. Now it's literally worse than tinder. Down to greed surprise surprise. Now, simply put, every attractive person is not shown to you at all and locked behind a pay wall. (After that initial new user period you mentioned where it will show you stunning people). The only profiles you will get shown are one's that the majority of people swipe no. Such a shame as the app used to be brilliant.
Nah tinders worse by far. Hinge is so much better bro. You just have to know how to vet women propperly. Ignore the materialistic low quality ones near naked in bikinis on yatches in exotic locations and only give attention to the ones who dont show these traits. The introverted wholesome ones who dont go to clubs & bars, arent damaged, ran through and actually keep their clothes on. Those are the high quality ones. But of course first, you yourself you have to be facially attractive, good physique & good height. Because of course she has to be attracted to you too, the way youre attracted to her. But yeah man, nothing is worse than tinder. That place is a gutter. Even handsome guys have to pay on that app to truely get its usefull features and even then, the girls there are of waaaayy lower quality than on hinge. All the rubbish brainwashed girls/whores are on there. At least hinge has more decent people.
Hey is it safe to pay for Hinge? Like when I pay for it using my App Store will they get my real name and personal information? I wanted to pay for a month. Let me know
On hinge i could only like woman 15 times a day, if i remember correctly. I was very meticulous and patient with my swipes. I payed close attention to womans personality and responses. A lot of women had very basic prompts, like they just copy and pasted from somebody else's profile.
If you are going in with a mission and trying to make a relationship happen you will fail. Use it as a supplement to your normal dating life not the main source. I’ve had plenty of good dates off of it and 2 relationships. It’s also nice to meet people outside your normal circles. But you really can’t take it seriously or personal. I’ve ghosted people too because I had too many to talk to or I got bored with the app. But I’ve also got to go on a date with some wild people like a billionaires daughter. It was intriguing. Just use it for the experiences.
@@JEFFMAN90 exactly. I loved the old format better where I could just pull up profiles with a zip code. It’s faster and more efficient. Sadly women prefer the swipe mechanism which almost ALL dating apps use now even POF.
I personally really like Hinge, mainly because of 2 reasons: 1: I'm amazing at taking pictures, which allows me to go on dates with more girls than I would by meeting them in real life 2: You're 100% sure to not harrass someone, both people got the same expectation and that is great
@@xstreamgamer-ib4nt doesnt sound pathetic at all bro. I fully get where youre comming from. I take good pics too and worked hard on my self inprovement, so When i used to use dating apps, it was easy & i was killing it too. Its how i met an awesome girl that i still have in my life till this day :) keep on doing well bro 👊🏽
This chick and I matched, I reached out to her, asked what her ethnicity was, told her she had a beautiful name and hoped to chat soon and never heard from her. Pretty much sums up this app for a guy, these women want a super hero
I can see where you’re coming from but I feel as though you’re too busy taking your own thoughts with subject confirmation bias and then giving everyone else the same answer based off of that. (I could be wrong easily and do NOT mean to come at you personally this is just open conversation) YES, these apps destroy regular relationships to an extent but this is only to the extent someone will allow it. Just because you met on hinge doesn’t mean the interaction will go the same. I feel as though you can learn to date through apps the same way you do through irl. This is what I did and what I believe a lot of people do. It’s quite easy to get into a normal healthy relationship through these apps. Set boundaries, if we match by x day. We should meet irl by x day if we are actually interested. And from there it gets easier. The hardest part about getting to really know your matches is finding out how y’all will vibe and actually meeting. Now yes it’s not hard to score meets, people play games etc but you will figure out who’s serious based off of conversations and learning the ways of different people. While these apps are disastrous for us as a people in some ways, they also help a lot of us find love in unconventional ways!
hey! i 'v been using Hinge for one week and , at least for now , i only got one match lol. i mean ... i do put a lot of likes , but nobody likes me back yayyy. idk what 's wrong : \
I been on hinge for over a year now sent out about 1000 likes I got 2 responses with led to 0 dates. I had 2 women like me also that I liked back and then boom unmatched I guess they just wanted validation that I found them cute or they played it like a guy and right swiped on everything. To be fair i do not even right swipe more than 1 in 10 times as a guy I am very selective so I understand my lack of success. When I see liberal if you voted for trump swipe left I follow their orders no matter if the woman is a kate upton clone. If i see they have kids automatic swipe left. If the woman is more than 15 pounds overweight swipe left. If the woman mentions I want to travel swipe left. If the woman mentions she likes watching nfl or college football that is usually a right swipe if she is not liberal and a single mom and at least a 5 in looks. It is ok i have given up on love women only want the top 1 percent of men on dating apps. It is a reminder of what women really think of men.
It’s awful for women too. But I’d never ask a guy out, no offense. I had a lot of dates and never had to and the few times I’d even send a like the return wasn’t the same. Always way better outcome when I was the one who was liked first
@@LandofLit well it worked for me. I’m in a relationship now since this post off of someone I met on hinge literally around the time I posted my comment. Lol
I heard Bumble is better (haven't tried it yet), I tried hinge and I got very few matches. This one match we're kind of talking now but it's going super slow, haven't met yet, might never but it's whatever
Depends on the area. But for most areas…. NOOOOPPEE!! Despite feminist lies, Girls dont actually like being put in the position of being the man and having to be the one that makes the first move.
@@tajiri7 sure we women have top notch options. Men totally aren’t just trying to get hit and run they love commitment. They totally can take rejection well no physical repercussions whatsoever. It’s so easy Henry Cavill and I can be married tomorrow if I wanted to
I am weirdly attracted to pretty girls is a horrible prompt. It's fine to think it but it doesn't make your profile unique. There's only so much space to make an impact. That's a waste of space.
Not really, I started using Hinge for about 1.5 weeks and I got a ridiculous amount of high-quality likes in NYC as a guy. This kind of becomes a first-world problem for me right now. You probably set up your profile incorrectly. lol
You must be really hot then or you're LGBT and looking for men. That is not a typical experience for a straight man. You can look up pretty much any discussion about this. Most average or slightly above average men get very little attention from women on most apps.
Dead on brother! I agree 100% with everything you said. Online dating is ruining society. I get a lot of matches but these women are very fickle and always looking for the next dude because they think life works as easy as swiping left
